I highly recommend Tico's Bakery. I especially loved their croissants. They are large, airy, crisp (the perfect amount of crisp), and a great ratio of filling-to-croissant. Best croissants I've had. They also have sandwiches made with sourdough bread, prosciutto, fresh orange juice, and more. You can tell this bakery crafts everything with love and attention to detail. The staff is welcoming and the interior is very pretty with trendy wood panel slatted walls & has a fun wall with a neon sign for a social media op. There are also a decent amount of tables and seating if you want to sit and eat your pastries (as you probably will want to do that right then and there after seeing the pastries ). read more

I had a very productive day working from Tico's Bakery. The pastries and drinks were all delicious and I wish I had ordered one of everything! The staff were very friendly and they kept bringing fresh pastries and sandwiches out from the back. They offered to press any of the sandwiches and they warmed my ham & cheese pastry - highly recommend. Located on the east end of 7th Ave (the main drag of this historic district), Tico's is in a vintage building, close to the legendary Columbia Restaurant. There's parking right in back and along the street. In the morning, the light streams in on the modern, appealing decor and wakes up your senses. You'll use them all, taking in the amazing array of treats and meats: everything from delicate pastries to decadent desserts to savory sandwiches and pizza. Tico's truly has it all-right there under glass-freshly made and ready to go. The trays full of tasty temptations keep coming from the kitchen in back. Just when you think you know what you want, here comes more choices! Good thing the staff is friendly and knowledgeable-they'll guide you through it. I ended up with an almond croissant-which was huge, flaky, pretty-and clearly, cooked with care and attention to detail. I wish I was more dainty-I ended up with powdered sugar all over me! Great Ybor location with street parking. Clean and welcoming inside with a few tables for eating in. Between the three of us we tried the Guava Pastry (Delicious- you could taste the butter!), Pistachio and Tiramisu Croissants- full of delicious cream. I love everything about this place. Everything is fresh. The counter can be a little scary and daunting with all of the great food laid out but the staff will walk you through everything. Coffee does the trick and is cheap. Full espresso machine inside as well. The amazing smells when you first walk in was lovely. Right by the historic district in Ybor, this bakery was a site for sore eyes. We ordered the cinnamon rolls, pistachio Berliner and almond croissants. All were perfect. The almond croissant was soft and doughy and had a perfect amount of filling. Visited Tico's Bakery and really enjoyed it. First things first, my biggest question was parking. Okay so there's a parking in the back and come to find out afterwards, it said Columbia's, but I def saw people coming from Tico's park so we did too. We walked to the front of the building and across the street is another parking lot. I didn't check how much it cost but it appears to have a Park Mobile there. Down the street are some meters same side as the bakery, but currently covered due to the Reliaquest parade happening later. They have low tables and a comfy couch and two chairs like a mini living room or lounge space. They are very nice. This is a Venezuelan bakery so it peaked my interest. They currently had homemade sourdough bread, sweet bread loaves, and pan de jamon(traditional Venezuelan bread for Xmas). I wanted it but didn't want to pay around $30. We ordered two guava and cheese pastries and one pistachio cream filled brioche. Everything is amazing here. We didn't order a drink just had water. Will def be back to try more. read more

Ticos is one of the best bakeries around! They have an amazing selection of pastries, sweet and salty, they also offer one of the best cachitos(Venezuelan ham bread) I've had! Service was excellent! We visited for the first time to check it out as they recently opened. We were warmly greeted as we walked in and the smell was amazing. The display was beautiful and everything looks so fresh. They have a wide variety of sandwiches and pastries. They are beautifully crafted as you can see. The cinnamon roll was fantastic and a pretty decent portion size so you can eat in and still have some left over. They'll even warm it up for you if asked. Ticos Bakery absolutely exceeded my expectations! We tried the Nutella pastry, a pistachio croissant, a guava and cheese croissant, a loaf of sourdough bread, and a double espresso and every single item was phenomenal. The guava and cheese croissant was hands down the best guava pastry I've ever had. I make a point of visiting bakeries and pastry shops several times a month, so I've tried quite a few, and this one was truly exceptional. The pastries were fresh, flaky, perfectly balanced in flavor, and clearly made with great attention to detail. The sourdough loaf was delicious with a wonderful texture and flavor, and the double espresso was rich, smooth, and expertly prepared. The display case of pastries at Tico's bakery is beautiful. I ordered a pistachio crossaint and a chocolate and strawberry crossaint. My first bites on the ends of the crossaints were unimpressive. The crossaints tasted like the were a day old even through I picked them up at 10:30am on a Friday. The filling tastes much better and I did enjoy the middle of the crossaints more. The service was quick and friendly and I would go there again to try coffee and some other food items. read more

This is a new bakery located in Ybor. The inside is super trendy and modern. I love the light fixture and glass pastry displays. This is my true and honest review. Everything looked much better than it tasted. I wouldn't say it was a bad taste. It just was very average in my opinion. I had a chocolate cinnamon roll. It was good, but I didn't really taste any cinnamon. It was all just chocolate. I also had a cheese roll which had ham and cheese inside of it. That was OK. I also tried the chicken roll, which had chicken stuffed inside a pastry that was a little dry for my liking, however went well with the sauce. Overall, I would say this bakery is just OK nothing very special. It's nice to have the option in the area. read more

This is our third time stopping here when in Tampa & I finally took a picture before everything was gone. The Pistachio Croissant was so good, as was the Nutella Croissant. The place was very crowded with no place to sit because there was one table with 2 young mothers with their kids and one was breast feeding her baby and another table was taken upvby a woman doing computer work. We left as there were no seats. We came back 45 minutes later and the 2 mothers were just leaving and the girl doing computer work was still working taking up a table for 4. There are only 4 or 5 tables in the place. We did manage to get a table and the pastry was fabulous and so is the cappuccino. They need table manage. read more

I have visited this Tico's location twice now, both times left in awe by the sight of the pastries on display but left underwhelmed by the actual taste and quality. The first time we went we tried a guava and cheese pastry, pistachio croissant and a sourdough loaf. The taste of the pastries was decent, but the texture was off as they both tasted day old at best. What's more, you can tell they use a lesser quality butter that left the texture and mouthfeel not quite right. The overall flavor was good despite that so we wanted to try it again. This second time we ordered a dulce de leche berliner, a guava pastry, pan chocolat and a sourdough. The berliner was a BRICK, filled with clearly jarred duce de leche, the pan chocolat was also day old, and the sourdough, which was solid last time, also appeared to be old. We needed to microwave it just to make it pliable for use. Overall flavors are good not great, but for a bakery to not sell fresh items and instead give their customers day-old stale items makes this place a hard pass for me going forward. read more
