Clean taste, always refreshing kratom
Sherri P.

This is my favorite spot in Ybor. The coffee is great I'm told but I come for the kratom. It is consistent, great flavor, always effective. It has a relaxed living room vibe, always cheerful friendly kava tenders, great playlist tunes. Just a perfect spot to chill and pass time. In my opinion the best brewed kratom in Tampa.

Love the coffee here. I do not recommend the matcha here. Bathroom is very clean. And very nice workers.

Cats & Roosters that frequent the joint

Right off the Main Street of Ybor, but feels like world away, its a nice quiet cafe and the perfect place for your morning cup of coffee if you are a local or visit in the Ybor Historic District! The coffee was good, and standard prices for speciality drinks. Minus one star for the barista who looked like I was bothering her when I asked for a coffee, it was a little bothersome. Would have been nice to be greeted with smile and a more friendly demeanor. But I'll just chalk that up to the day I was there and won't hold it against them! The coffee itself was good and the space was larger than most coffee spots so if you are here to do some work it would be perfect! Also loved the wildlife that frequents the joint outside, there was a cat and even 2 roosters, cute!

Amazing place. Customer service is always top notch. If you want a place to hangout and meet people or just get some work done, this is the place Everyone is so friendly and easy to talk to. It seems like every time I go theirs something new going on. They have thrown thanksgiving parties, hosted local artist and seem to have a new event every week. If you ever get a chance, come say hi to all the wonderful people.

Like many entrepreneurs, people that work from home, being in the house all the time can drive you crazy. So a few others feeling the same way I do decided to get together and do a co-work day. Grassroot was chosen as the location spot. As I pull up, I realize that this spot is like a little hidden gem because I'm in the area often but have never seen this place. I guess because it's right next to the railroad tracks I didn't notice. I enjoyed this space. Now I must say, if you're like me and don't mind dogs at restaurants when it's an outdoor situation but dogs inside makes you feel some type of way then this might not be the place for you. Other than that, the place is big, clean, and not cluttered but nicely decorated. I enjoyed my tea and my guava muffin was so good. I saw other people there with laptops doing their work and others came in and got a quick drink and left. I guess this is the Starbucks for the people tired of Starbucks. Another thing is that I managed to get a parking spot right behind the building but I'm not sure if their parking lot wraps around and had more spaces but across the street is a paid lot. I don't know the parking rules in ybor so I'm not sure if you pay during the day. Overall I like this place and roll visit again.

Oh, this is something to crow about!…read more Nestled in Tampa's ultra unique Ybor City, just north of 7th (the main drag)... follow the roosters, to these roasters. (!) This chill and charming coffee spot is waiting for you (in a vintage brick building called "the bunker." The effortlessly cool barista greeted me with this laid back warmth and mellow morning energy. She gave me good ideas on both drinks and food, since this was my first visit-and supported my choices. I love that! Life kicks us around outside these doors. But inside Ybor City Coffee and Tea, it's easygoing and zen. I could have settled in with my matcha with lavender for a good long stay... but it's an errands day. I couldn't linger and enjoy the artwork or all the comfy seating area (tables, couches and a high counter with stools inside and patio seating outside) this time. But I'll be back! The chai tea and a carmel apple pastry is calling. Add to all of this: this one hour street parking for just 50 cents right out front and I AM A FAN! I'll see you soon, Ybor City Coffee and Tea.

They have four locations, and we went to the one in the Ybor City Historic District. La Segunda is an institution for Cuban bread and pastries, baking 18K loaves daily and ships nationwide via Goldbelly. Our niece's BF is Cuban, and he said buy anything with guava. In the box (see photo), we bought two each of guava flip (kind of a folded tart or empanada), guava turnover, and guava flip with cream cheese. All of them are delicious! I like the flaky guava turnovers the most even though they didn't survive the transportation across the country in my backpack as well as some of the others. Even though slightly crumbly, still yummy! I also bought butter cookies, sold by the pound. Those are relatively ordinary; I'll skip those in the future. Next time, we are carrying Cuban sandwiches home! I really wish I carried them home. I was having Cuban sandwich withdrawal. This location is older but functional; there isn't seating. Their customers know what they want, and everything moves FAST. If it's your visit (like it was for us), I suggest looking at the menu online to know what to order. The service is friendly, even though I can tell he was a bit exasperated that I didn't just yell out my order and I asked questions. I honestly don't fault him. Busy places have their own pace, and the customers are the ones to keep up. That's perfectly ok.

Overall, my experience here was awesome…read more However, I just want to point out a few things for people who have never been here because I was unaware. 1. They do not take cash. 2. They do not have matcha. 3. They do not have food. These days coffee makes my body feel weirddddd so I was a bit staggered when I walked in and realized those 3 things since I was here with a bike group and I really needed some food. I considered having coffee anyway but without food and being on a 15+ mile bike ride, I wasn't trying to have a medical episode so I decided to try their chai tea latte. It was truly delicious!! It got me home and able to eat so thank god for that! Some of the rest of my party got the herbal tea and the way it was served was super cool. It had me intrigued. But if you like coffee, everyone said it was delicious. The fact that they have a latte on draft is pretty amazing as well. I loved the location because it's kind of ducked off in the corner which is why I had never been there before. But above all else, the amount of pups here were enough to make me return time and time again. I met the cutest greyhounds which are my fav so my soul was happy.

I must admit, I was a little intimidated by coming out here originally because I thought I was going to have to go through the interstate, not be able to find paid parking, and be far away from it by the time I find something, but parking was incredibly easy and ample. Right at the outskirts of Ybor, is this adorable, charming coffee dessert boutique like place with outdoor seating so my adorable Muffin can enjoy her day with her mommy. (You can go up to the counter with the dog, but you can't dine with them. Not a problem because their outside seating is plentiful, too and just as gorgeous.) Already, I was getting such a great vibe. I ordered a special chocolate latte and some pastries, which was exactly what I came for. Their pastries and cakes are nicely displayed behind a glass case and they had a large selection offerings. I went for some macarons and tried a slice of their chocolate chip ricotta cake, and took this outside on such a beautiful day. Every item I got were crafted with care to detail and taste. The breakdown: The chocolate latte. Beautiful latte art, creamy with hints of chocolate and caramel . Macarons: Chocolate chip pistachio with chocolate chips inside and drizzled with more chocolate. Ube vanilla, sweet and complex, and I loved the purple. Black coffee, possibly my favorite, with the strong coffee flavor. Each of these were delicate and crisp on the outside, creamy on the inside. Perfection!!! Chocolate Chip ricotta cake: Looked like a small piece, but this thing was DENSE. Soft, moist, and generously studded with chocolate chips. I was pretty full when I finished everything. Staff was very nice and accommodating. I really enjoyed coming here and loved how their pastries and desserts are works of art on their own. I can't wait to try more!

The flavor itself was delicious and it had the right amount of crisp and fluffiness.
