Back in December 2025, me and my then girlfriend where looking at engagement rings, mainly so I had an idea of what she likes. As we were driving we saw Modern Jewelers and decided to stop by and see what they had. It was one of the best decisions I ever made! When we got in Stacey helped us. I don't know what it was about Stacey, maybe her personality? or that I never felt pressured to purchase anything? but she was a big part of the reason I decided to buy my engagement ring from here. She showed us so many rings and one of the last ones she showed us was the ring I knew I was going to get, I just feel in love with it instantly. I ended up coming back a week later and this time Sam helped me, and he was great to work with. He helped me pick out a diamond, and I really liked was he took pictures during the process. He told me that the pictures he was taking were for my then girlfriend once I proposed. We discussed what I wanted and then a little less then 2 months later my ring was ready. I went to pick up the ring and I was speechless, it was perfect in everyway. He ended up taking a few more pictures while there and he told me something I'll never forget "when she looks good you look good". About 4 days ago I proposed to my now fiancée, I showed her all the pictures he took of me buying the ring. Throughout the last few days she has been telling me the reactions people have been giving her when she shows them the ring, and every time she does I cant help but think "when she looks good you look good". Sam meticulously educated us on 14 vs 18K gold, types of diamonds, prices, structural integrity vs. ring design, and so on and so forth. We wanted chevron rings that essentially needed to be custom made from scratch and Sam took our ideas and made it far more perfect than we could have ever imagined. From simple sketches to wax molds to actual product, it was beautiful from start to finish. So if you're looking for a fairly affordable place that actually cares about your jewelry and your ideas, and can customize pretty liberally, then Modern Jewelers is your place. The cherry on top is Sam gave me a complimentary ring box that lights up with my fiancée's engagement ring and it sparkled so much that I was dazzled and temporarily blinded, but it was all so worth it. Making it quite an expensive process. I don't know why they've done this, they've driven away a lot of customers, but that's just the way it has been. Since they've raised their prices, I've been looking around for another shop that could replace the batteries in my watches for a reasonable price. Mr. Time is just that location. I took two Luminox watches in today. The proprietor looked at them and quoted the price $25. 00 for the first one, and a discounted price of $20. 00 for the second one. Sounded good to me. They got right to work. I walked around the shop looking at their watches and their other items for a little bit, ten minutes later I was out the door. Great deal! This shop is located in the strip mall on the corner of Crenshaw and Sepulveda. Thus, it's really easy to find. Plus, there's tons of parking in their lot, so that should never be a problem.
