First time I'm at the Tibetan Kitchen - I tried to get here a few weeks ago but got lost (hey I don't live in Brissie, was talking to a mate on the phone at the time and am from the Deep South) - anyway, engaged by the Yelp reviews - I made it on foot and as soon as I walked in I loved its lack of pretension, Buddha statues and burning incense - felt very early 1990s. I was on my own and ordered a Dal Soup - a Vegan dish which is Nepalese style lentils cooked with dry herbs and spices - I had a Tibetan bread (which is a toasted cheese affair) as a side and then for my main went with the vegan Churpi curry - dry tofu cooked in onion, garlic, ginger and capsicum based sauce - with rice - along with a soda water I was down for $30. Having over-ordered my verdict:- loved the tofu curry's capsicum sauce and the simplicity of the dishes - no fanfare - just solid fibre and nutrition- solid!

Excellent. I had a lamb saaga hot option. Awesome flavours and the meat was perfectly slow cooked. I would highly recommend coming here.

Perhaps part of their success is due to a renovation which opened up the space and saw the addition of a bar. The other successful part of the equation has to be the food, which is classic Italian executed particularly well. The pizza menu includes both 'Rosse' (red sauce) and 'Bianche' (white sauce) varieties. Recently I tried the funghi porcini, one of the white sauce pizzas, featuring mozzarella, porcini mushroom, fontina cheese and sage. Its beautifully delicate flavour and fragrant sage stands out really well from the lovely thin bases. Fresh seafood and a hint of chilli make the spaghetti marinara one of the better examples I've bought at a restaurant.

So to venture out on Monday although usual for I, seeking food ,wine to hunt and gather as our forging forefathers did. My travels though seeking Italian fare for the excitable ones birthday, whom on her last visit proclaimed unrequited love for the Nutella calzone. So " Il posto" , which translates to " the place" in the beautiful and sexy Italian language which runs a very close second to my favourite "French " It sits amongst a busy hub of large supermarkets, other caffeine stops and the usual suspects of travel agents, hairdressers, butchers and so. Once again Paddington is very inept of activity on a cool July night in Brisvegas, the waiter in which Bella has waited all day to hear deciphers the menu in beautiful Italian of which brings a beautiful smile of enjoyment through her eyes which I believe is the way to truly see a woman's happiness. The menu is a blend of tradition from the magnificent Caprese salads with house made mozzarella , rich ruby tomatoes, aged balsamic and the smell of perfumed basil to finish, created from the region of Campania it brings back wonderful memories of a chilled Campari with bitter orange and a portrait of Italy on a plate of this wonderful creation as I sat at tables listening to this beautiful language as I traveled through Italy. The antipasto is there, a range of calamari which of course done equally well by the Italians and the Greeks, allowing these wonderful immigrants to our countries in the 60's, 70's to create a food culture which has allowed Oz to become a huge multicultural food icon in the culinary world today. A veal masala with baked cauliflower, Pork belly on sautéed artichokes, Lamb rump on potato purée await the intrepid carnivore if pasta and Gluten is not for you. The specials projected aloud by our passionate waiter whom I sense is the owner, marf wrapped ( male scarf ) showcasing a sense of simple style the Italians are renown for make for sensual listening, allowing me to choose the Pearl bay Barra with another of my favourites from the Tuscan region which combines leftover bread, tomato, parsley and olive oil. One of the brethren chose the duck and porcini Ragu on Pappardelle , the birthday girl the Gnocchi and Fabio ( whom thinks he is Australia's answer to the original love god) the Gnocchi as well and Bella whom is still smiling the wonderful Ravioli al Crostacel which enticed with Moreton bay bugs, sand crab in a zucchini and tomato bisque. Upon arrival and after much banter about my beloved Hawks dismal performance on the weekend, the smells sensually reaching amazing heights and sending our palate into over drive, combinations of the sea, the garden and the farm. I always believe as I serves any restaurant, home table anywhere in the world, the first 30 seconds of silence will give you evidence of how good the meal is, as we inhale the vision of the creator, the smell of the ingredients and solace of our palate of which we are all unique. As the group came up for much needed oxygen, a brief nod of recognition and witching what seemed minutes plates were clean and a look of contentment that only 2 things bring in life and you no the other!! As we sipped on our pondering del Paradiso Chianti from Tuscany the natives were restless about exploring the Dolce or sweet once again translated to Bella whom is ready to jump on a plane tomorrow to Tuscany, The birthday girl chose the infamous Nutella calzone with vanilla bean ice cream, Fabio the pannacotta al cioccolato with vanilla biscuit , Bella and myself the semifreddo to share. All arrived and once again the romance and courting began, a quiet them murmurs as the birthday girl devoured the foot long calzone which I sensed many could not finish, but our girl devoured with much gusto and amour. As the empty plates were removed a group sat contented, fulfilled and satisfied that we would return to this wonderful experience , although not cheap it is a worthy experience to appreciate the love and passion of which a true Italian experience can provide . La Dolce Vita ..the sweet life

Our entrée of bruschetta was some of the best I've tasted and it was a dead heat as to who received the best main course. My gnocchi was rich and creamy without being overbearing or heavy and went nicely with the caprese salad I ordered as a side. I tasted my companions' dishes (penne puttanesca and prosciutto-wrapped pork) and both were incredibly flavoursome. We ordered a tiramisu and panna cotta from the dessert menu and thoroughly enjoyed both along with espresso shots. The restaurant is simply but beautifully decorated and Italian film and television posters adorn the walls. The ladies bathroom was very clean and spacious and perfumes were available for those needing a top-up. Overall, the experience was fantastic with the only room for improvement being the lighting, which was a little bright. I'll be making the trip to Paddington quite regularly.

It's a traditional Italian trattoria and is a wonderful little space inside the restaurant, with part of the space dominated by a very large collection of Italian (and other countries) wines, which can match any of the meals you opt for. The menu is very pasta based, which is great for an Italian restaurant, but there are other options just in case you feel like something different. When the restaurant is full, it has an amazing vibe but it can become a little difficult to hear your dining companions, so if you love a robust conversation and a good meal Italian style, then Grappino is the spot

We arrived and parked on premises (bit tight) - went up stairs to the restaurant - has street level access. Inside was what you expect - warm and fun. Portions are generous, the presentation was beautiful. The taste was good - wonderful in fact - yum. We were pleasantly full and had to take dessert home. Good.

I visited this new addition to Musgrave Road as part of a Brisbane festive degustation tour and we were treated to a set menu lunch which the restaurant was also offering for Christmas Day. Had I not already made Christmas Day plans, I may have been persuaded by sweet Italian whispers to dine here. We began our lunch with a classic bruschetta and garlic focaccia. Don't be fooled, although simple, a classic bruschetta can be bad. Not here though. There was barely a moment to cherish the time spent with these fresh flavours before we were introduced to our entree, a large singular ravioli filled with fresh ricotta and spinach and served with cherry tomato sauce, parmesan and basil. I can still feel the melting of the pasta on my tongue. Can I have a moment alone here please? Of the mains, I could have left the pork belly (I'm just not that into it, OKAY!?!) but the barramundi with an olive crust and fennel cream - well bring it on! By the time dessert was put before us I'm sure I wasn't the only one whose stomach was reaching its limit. For those playing at home, it was a sampler of the two desserts on offer Christmas Day - fruit salad and traditional pannetone with a raspberry mousse and vanilla gelato. Don't let the location or the home-style interior fool you. Colle Rosso is rustic, just-the-way-your-Nonna-makes-it Italian and worth the trip to Red Hill.

The food was delicious but a little pricey. we had pizza and chips shared and it was enough to fill us. Wine was great, good selection from Australia and overseas. I think their biggest problem is location, they have a BWS on one side and a grilled on the other so it's certainly cheapened by the atmosphere. I would just say reasonable everyday Italian cooking. What makes me give this place a big thumbs down is the value. The pasta is $20 or $26 depending on the type but it comes in a very small take away container which is not enough for a meal for one person. If the quality was something amazing maybe I could forgive this but meatballs and pasta what a joke. The fettucine with truffle was nothing special either. The pizza was obviously hand made but almost no ingredients just a very basic style with a premium cost.
