Who knew that this little pizza pasta joint is Queensland's only licensed restaurant with Fox Sports? I didn't, not until I read the chalk written sign board. I wondered what the deal was with the very sporty exterior and decor, and I asked David, who happened to be the owner... and an avid soccer fan. Oh I get it now. If you are into your A-league soccer games, you may want to hang out here, the occassional Roar's player will be here too from time to time, so it's a good way to get your celebrity freak on when that happens. Not only are they soccer obsessed here, they are 1 metre pizza long obsessed with huge, yep you've guessed it, 1 metre long pizzas of any flavour for massive groups or a massive appetite in general. The pizza's are very authentic, You can see them making them behind the counter and they always seem to be in a great mood! For the after dinner fans, there is the gelato, in many flavours. This joint is pretty packed when there is anything happening at the Suncorp Stadium so make sure you book beforehand if you want to try them out, otherwise, on most days you're usually able to sit down and eat to your hearts content. Solid Pizzeria.

This is my go-to pizzeria. I pretty much only come her on Mondays as they have the best deal - All small sized pizzas are $12 and Heneikens are $5. But you know what, even when the pizza's aren't at that special price, this is still a great place to go. Don't expect your pizza to be round, one unique thing about this place is that all pizzas are square or rectangular (depending on which size you go for). The pizza's are not the only good thing about this place, the pastas are equally as delicious, especially the Carbonarra which is very rich in flavour (not for the health conscious though). The service of this place is generally pretty good although it does get a little busy so do not expect the staff's complete attention during those times. Arrivederci offer excellent quality pizza and pastas- a go-to restaurant for Italian food lovers.

Man oh MAN, if only I'd known about Arrivederci Pizzeria earlier! I'd probably be morbidly obese and fashioning moo moos out of table cloths and feel better off for it because this pizzeria is THE BOMB. What I love most is that they measure their pizzas by the centimeter, and they come delivered in long boxes that give the whole dining experience a touch of class. My friends and I ordered the 50cm Margherita pizza take away, and when we lifted the lid, the spoils blew my mind. Nothing can beat a margherita pizza fresh from the oven. It tasted phenomenal; they didn't go overboard with the cheese and it and was cooked to perfection. The only thing I would have liked to have seen was larger basil leaves, but it's likely that they just shrivelled up and were swallowed by cheese during the cooking process. The staff were friendly and efficient with our pizza; it was only a 15 minute wait and we passed the time by watching some sports matches on the giant HD television hanging in the restaurant. It was also great to see the pizzeria was a family oriented and social establishment; there were a lot of people having birthday parties, as well as old friends gossiping over a greasy slice. Overall, it had a very comforting vibe, and next time I head to Arrivederci I'm definitely dining in.

Now there are many attributing factors when it comes to the condition known as "Fresher Spread"…read more Every fresher gets it. Fat, that is. It's a combination of greasy college food, excessive drinking and Mr Deno's Kebabs (inextricably linked to excessive drinking). You get in the cab after a night out and instead of giving your college address, you say in a drunken slur, "Take me to Mr Deno's at the Ville." And it's all downhill from there. But oh how satisfying those kebabs are when all you've got in your tum is a big churning mess of alcohol. To sink your teeth into a Mr Deno's before stumbling home to college and falling in bed would have to be one of the most satisfying experiences, not be missed out on by any St Lucian collegiate. The fresher spread is even worth it!

When returning to St Lucia (the student suburb) after a late night out there is only one place to go to soak up the alcohol and that is Mr Deno's. Many a student has reached that point in the night where there is nothing better than a greasy kebab. In fact, all I remember from my student nights here is the wonderful full feeling of this fine product as it hit my goon filled stomach and gave me the strength to walk the hundred metres home and into my bed. The kebabs really are amazing, such that there is even a facebook page dedicated to them (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Mr-Denos-Kebab-Shop/77734942575?sk=info) where you are encouraged to post photos of yourself devouring Mr Deno's kebabs and just be a part of the general awesomeness that is this Kebab shop. Mr Deno's Kebab and Pizza's hours change depending on the student calendar (they close earlier when it is not semester). Now I recommend not even looking at Mr Deno's during daylight hours. The "best kebab of your life" during the night quite easily turns into a very average kebab during the day. Keep Mr Deno's for those late nights and you will stay a fan!

It was their website design that lured me in initially. We finally got around to giving it a whirl and frankly, I can't believe I waited so long to investigate their pizza menu. Before you pick up the phone to order or walk into the restaurant in Auchenflower forget all notions you have of take-away pizza. Try to remember the last time you ordered pizza that didn't have that dark, oily grease stain on the bottom of the pizza box? Our pizza boxes were remarkably void of this and I'm not surprised. The two pizzas we ordered (Pesto Lamb and Tasty Bill) were the least greasy pizzas I've ever had. I'm not kidding! The fresh ingredients and simple flavours don't come close to the delight I felt discovering not only do they offer gluten free bases but they actually taste akin to standard pizza bases. I've heard mixed reviewers of Two Sisters Pizza from friends but me personally? I'm a fan. While you'll pay a little more than a regular pizza chain I still consider them to be resonably priced. Better still I can keep my stomach from writing me hate mail by choosing a gluten-free option and above all else the pizzas taste great. Plus the friendly staff don't go astray.

If you live in or near Auchenflower, this is the place to get your pizza, I'll tell you that for nought. Two Sisters have a killer Supreme pizza to offer. The toppings are generous and add some oomph to an already satisfying classic pizza choice. You'll get leg ham, bacon, pepperoni, cabanossi, prawns, mushroom, green capsicum, red onion, kalamata olives, oregano all on one pizza! I would have to say the seafood menu is the pick of the lot. Your standard meat eaters menu is strong, and vegetarians won't suffer either, but the seafood menu is where it's at. I like to rip into the Chilli Prawn which is nothing more than prawns, basil, chilli, and parmesan, and ever so yum. I don't know I feel about dessert pizza, but you can try it on for size here. The pizzas come in small ($15), medium ($18), and large ($21). If you're feeling like pizza, go support this family run business. They're good at what they do, and they're miles better than more main stream pizza chains.

I know this place has been here for years and generations of uni students have used it as a Friday night hang out, but I think once you leave college and are no longer yearning refectory food, Castellis may not be your restaurant of choice. The pizzas are okay, but the pasta, or, more specifically, the pasta sauce is gluggy and dense and smells like glue at times. The garlic bread is heavy with butter, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but it makes it difficult to eat anything past that first serving of buttery goodness. You can get a decent coffee here at times, and if you want a location that can hold a number of people and feed them just as well, this is the place. But if you're on a romantic evening, or if you're a "foodie" I'd suggest you look elsewhere.

All you can eat pizza and pasta? Yes please…read more For $21.50, you receive more carbs than you would probably consume in an entire week. But gosh it's worth it. Arriving with a group of 10 ravenous friends (bookings are essential), we were ready to get our chow on. It's worth picking up some wine on the way as it's BYO, so after a glass each and a lot of 'umming' and 'ahhing' over the menu, we made our choice. First off, we shared several baskets of garlic bread and awaited the speedy arrival of our pastas. The pasta is made fresh on the premises daily, so we spaghetti with a choice of nine different sauces. Settling on a hot spicy sauce with lamb, I was glad for the garlic bread to ease the burn - they're not light-handed with the chilli, which is great! Following our entrees of pasta (you can order more than one bowl), our mains of pizza arrived. The pizzas are huge, so it's good to order a variety of them (we went for pesto pizza with eggplant; Italian sausage with fetta and capsicum, and satay chicken). All absolutely delicious. I guess really the only drawback to this is that there is a limit to how much carbs you can actually fit in in one sitting. Alternatively, opt for the al a carte menu and avoid the fear of filling up too quickly.

It has plenty of limitations, including its small size (a couple of tables, and a few more in the alley to the side, weather permitting) and small menu (smaller from a vegetarian perspective, and nonexistent if you don't do dairy or wheat). Also, being outdoors in this neighborhood, the crowd can be a bit sketchy. Nonetheless, it's often busy. What it has going for it is simply this: it's Italian. The people running it are Italian, they speak Italian, and they cook a tasty pizza. They aren't huge or filling pizzas, but the crust is crisp, the basil on top fresh, and comparing to the price of a decent pizza restaurant in this town, theirs are a good deal. I don't mind at all getting a margherita and heading elsewhere for dessert. I did not find the buffala a worthwhile upgrade over the margherita; costs more, less cheese, not better. I haven't tried their pasta but I imagine I will before too long. It's cash only, but this place does have the virtue of being open all day. It's common (and understandable) for restaurants to close during that dead mid-day time between lunch and dinner, but I have an irregular schedule and I appreciate the occasional 3 pm meal. The reason, they do cheap pizzas for around a fiver and they turn them out in rapid succession. They also serve pastas there, though not their strong suit, they are still worth the coffers you'll lay out for them.
