Allan Woods Flowers had our attention before we even walked in. Walking in you are immediately drawn in by the layout. House plants and beautiful orchids greet you at the front alongside the kindest individual who made us excited about what was next. The blooms!! So many blooms in the fridge and outside that you can become overwhelmed in the best way. And they were all discounted. The roses were our immediate want. So many blush pink large mostly opened blooms screaming take me home and of course I had to listen. White, dark pink, red, and every other color in large and small varieties. They did not have my favorite bloom, peonies, but the selection more than made up for it. I hand picked six and my friend did the same. Going deeper into the space we discovered florists building the most beautiful arrangements. That is when I called my mom on FaceTime. She is a fellow florist and could name every single bloom she saw. I think that is where my love of flowers comes from. We grabbed our blooms for a get together we were heading to and made a quick pit stop at Union Market before heading out. The blooms had us moving with purpose. Plus delivery fee. She informed me that the delivery could not be made until Tuesday, because of weekend and holiday.. I said ok but wanted to make sure the flowers were fresh and not sitting at their shop over this 3 day period. She assured me that they would be fresh. Flower arrived Tuesday, They looked nice but on Wednesday they began to fade. We trimmed them off and some recovered and most didn't. I called them and explained that it had only been three days and she said so sorry...I will have my customer person call you. Waited for a couple days and no call....Only an email, telling me they guarantee for 3 days and since it was past three days there was no guarantee. Picture clearly taken on night of day 3. She also mentioned that the vase was half full of water so they sucked up water, but again clearly all stems were 3-4 inches below water line....I didn't like the implication that it was our fault that the flowers had died and wilted but they would send a small desk set of flowers.. "sorry for the inconvenience" Instead of taking the high road, it felt like nothing but defense on their part and gee take this instead. Well for $115.00. I thought that was rude response and said nope. Probably going to fade quickly again. I explained that I would be writing a review and the attitude was go ahead..don't care. I saw a nice bouqet of regular flowers that I knew she would like so I bought them. The price for the bouqet was reasonable too. It was kind of a fun experience for me as well, and the smell from all of the flowers was resonating. The lady who helped me was awesome, and I will definitely come here again for flowers whenever the momentnis right.
