Appropriate review for #2500 Dinner on our anniversary was celebrated at Tian. Having a Michelin Star Vegetarian restaurant was a no-brainer and they treated us right! Offering a set menu of 8 courses we opted in for the wine pairing and we were off Highlighting the seasonal vegetables of the area, we were treated to grains, root vegetables & did someone say truffle? Out of everything we had, what stood out for me was the homemade pasta with truffle in butter sauce. You'll have to try it for yourselves Wines were incredibly inventive & adventurous but totally hit the mark. So much so we made sure to get a rundown of everything we had before we left & the staff happily obliged Rundown: 2 sparkling wines; wine pairing 12 courses including amuse & surprises Takeaway packet of seeds to start our own gardens 4 hours €500 including tip

Supper nice Michelin Vegan restaurant in Vienna, very good service and special vines as well, unforgettable experience , recommend for Vegan lovers

I accidentally stumbled upon this restaurant. I loved the interior, and I had been walking the streets of Wien for awhile searching for a place to eat. After I walked in, I realized it was a Michelin restaurant but I had already asked for a table. I realized later that I had read stunning reviews about Tian but decided it was above my price range (I came here while on a solo Europe adventure). The service was excellent, as expected from a Michelin restaurant. Deciding that I was going to splurge and go for the full dining experience, I ordered the four course tasting menu. They first brought out bread with olive oil from Austria, Italy, and Croatia in small vials along with fresh sprouts. My favorite was the olive oil from Italy as it wasn't as bitter as the other oils. Each course was so aesthetically and palatably pleasing. It was the best vegetarian fine dining experience that I've ever had and overall such a memorable meal. Thank you, Tian, for a very lovely evening.

Nice ambiance with attentive staff, most of them are friendly. The meal had lots of variation with all different sorts of ingredients. I was able to have a vegan version which was nice. Loved the box of treats at the end with all sorts of creative sweet options. My only disappointment was the wine selection by the glass. They did not have a full bodied red and I had to settle for something I didn't really enjoy.

I am not sure about this place. I'd give 5 stars to the idea of dedicating a restaurant to vegetarian/vegan cuisine. I'd give 4 stars to the décor, minimalistic and elegant. A few frills too many but all in all pleasant. I'd give 5 stars to the service, well informed and polite. They were also flexible in changing one item from the fixed menu. I'd give 4 stars to the food, creative and based on seasonal and local products (note: do not expect huge portions here, if you want to get full go somewhere else). I'd give 3 stars to the prices, I think way too high. Further random 3 stars observations: the waiter will come up to you with a basket containing 3 types of bread (each of which was pretty dry and bland) and asks you which one you would like to try. From a place like this I'd expect some fragrant, hot, self baked stuff. Some "shows" to impress customers are not necessary: e. g. presenting you an empty plate and pouring the soup out of a jug for you. The wash basin in the men's toilet is so plain kitsch! :-)) So not sure if I should give them 3, 4, 5 stars in total, I'll settle for 4.

We were excited to try this restaurant after all the meat we had been eating during our trip. This restaurant has one of those menus were it lists a couple of ingredients only so you are never really sure what you are getting. Every single dish had amazing flavor and we were blown away! Everyone was super friendly and helpful with our daughter. They were super great about our young daughter and the fact that we had no reservations. They saw that she was still tired from jetlagged and offered for her to lay down on the neighboring booth and gave her pillows and blankets. Our only complaint was that service got progressively slower as the the courses continued. Customers that came before us and after us all ended their meals at the same time as us. We will definitely be back though because the food was so memorable!!!

There are times you pay for food and then there are are times that Art and food combine. This is one of those. And you can do all this while knowing that is good for you. Great Vegetarian and Vegan place

Very interesting experience. Like any, I always compare to others I have had. I have not found a vegetarian high end restaurant like this before, so it was interesting to try. What I liked: - The effort in each meal. Beautiful plating. - Taste of each meal with or without the wine pairing. - Excellent service. Receptive to questions regarding how to go about eating the presented meal. - Decor was very pleasant and relaxing. The other side of the coin: - Price. I have been to many high end, exclusive, and experimental places in my time. This place is the most expensive, which surprised me. I wouldn't say they are overpriced as I enjoyed the experience. At some point you wonder why is it this high though. And this is where the cards are stacked against Tian for the cost argument. Even if the greens are organic, locally grown, wine imported from who knows where, and the location is in the 1st district, I just can't understand why the cost is this high. My conclusion is, because they can. I really enjoyed this experience and would recommend it to anyone. However, I would not return since it seems like a poor investment of this amount of money regardless of how much one earns. Arguably the most expensive restaurant in the city. - Email communication has no responses. I tried to organised something special and my emails were unanswered.

This is not Moosewood Collective-style vegetarian food but rather fine dining that just happens to be all-vegetable. The room is beautiful, the tables are spread far apart so that you feel like you're dining in private and the service is friendly, knowledgeable, witty and highly professional. We had the light three course lunch for 37 Euros and everything was delicious, inventive, complex and artfully arranged on the plate. Yes it's a bit of a splurge for lunch but considering the spectacular setting, the high level of service and the quality of the food, this was a splurge I was happy that we chose to make. My only minor complaint (and this happened at other restaurants in Vienna so maybe it is just par for the course there) is that there was a 4 Euro per person cover charge added on top (the bread and butter were outstanding though).

This heurigen is not as large as those on the edge of town, so call ahead to make a reservation. Their wine is nice, but their food selection, while tasty, is not a huge list of options.

After asking a few friends for recommendations, we decided to try out Weinstube Josefstadt, and this place did NOT disappoint! Located in the 8th district down a quiet street, Weinstube Josefstadt is in a super convenient location, yet still offers the feeling of the authentic heuriger dining experience (particularly for tourists) - walking in off the street, you enter a courtyard filled with vines and creepers: it's super lush and green. You forget you're in the inner city, and there are trellises with vines everywhere (and plenty of seating, including outside). There's a wine menu, of course, and service for drinks, but meals are self-serve if you've come to eat as well as drink wine. Some of the fare we had included different cheeses, sausages, bread, pickles, Austrian potato salad, spinach strudel, and all different types of spreads to go with the bread. There were also a few other menu items that I forget now; I do remember the strudel being pretty tasty, and the spreads we tried were quite good, too. It was pretty interesting because you paid for the food based on weight, so you could order 10 deka (10 dekagrams (100 grams) = about 1/4 of a pound) of cheese - Austrians use dekagrams to measure food. If you're looking for this place, keep an eye out for the metallic wreath outside - wreaths are markers of open heurigers. Even though it's in the inner city, since it's kind of tucked away you'll miss it if you're not looking for it.

It's roughly a 7 minute walk from the Pilgram-gasse stop on the U4 green line. It's definitely in a more residential area. We arrived around 730p and we're both greeted and seated quite immediately. I ordered a wine cocktail that had Muscato and grapes. It was just how I like it, sweet lol. Our server also brought out fresh and warm bread. It was served with this pink colored cream. The consistency resembled a whipped cream cheese. Very light and slightly sweet. I ordered the (Gebratene Entenbrust mit Waldpilz-Trüffel-Risotto, Parmesan, Rote - Bete - Sauce), which is a Roasted Duck, Wild Mushroom, Truffle and Parm Risotto, and a beet sauce. The duck was cooked and seasoned well, though it was close to being overdone. The risotto was to die for! I ate every single thing on the plate, including the sauce. I really wish I had ordered dessert because they had so many options; however, I felt sufficiently satisfied/full so I didn't order any. My colleagues ordered the salmon cream soup (I dipped a piece of bread in it and it was delectable! Very balanced curry flavor), the Norwegian salmon, and the braised beef cheeks. Both of them enjoyed their meal and their Hungarian wines! I'll definitely add this to my list of restaurants to visit each time I return to Vienna.

I got the duck as that's what everyone recommended. It's solid, not amazing, but solid. Check out the truffle side order I got (in the pic)! That was awesome. I've never seen actual truffle and he carved some pieces right on my duck which totally made it taste better. The beef tartare I got for the app was also solid though the soup was just ok. Recommended a great glass of Austrian wine that was full-bodied and left me a bit tipsy which I was really surprised at. Dessert was typical. Sat outside also which was really nice in their courtyard.
