End of the Roll Kingston store sells garbage; they are a bunch of liars. Don't believe anything…read morethey told you. We bought 69 boxes of hardwood floor planks from End of the Roll Kingston store. They had some sample pieces on display. We noticed some of the displayed planks were short, and some of the pieces had knotty holes. We concerned about the short length, so we asked the salesman (I believe his name is Ali, but I could got his name wrong) specifically if the planks were short pieces. Ali said: "That's impossible! There are long pieces and short pieces, they are random. If they were short pieces, that's garbage. Garbage belongs to garbage can. We don't sell garbage!" We pointed out the pieces with knotty hole, and asked Ali how much percentage of the planks with this kind of problem. He said: "Not more than 20%." So we bought 20% more than we need. However, when we shipped the 69 boxes home and opened the first box, we were shocked, almost all planks are very short, and there are a lot of damaged pieces. We thought that box might be an exception, so we opened 6 boxes more; unfortunately they are the same as the first box! We examined the planks piece by piece in the 7 boxes (10% of the planks we purchased), and measured/counted the planks, here is the result: 97% of the pieces are less than 1 foot long (from 8" to 11"); 52% of the planks are damaged - either with big open knotty holes (1" hole or large), or worm-eaten wood, or cracked. Obviously the salesman Ali lied to us. The planks are all garbage! The planks cannot be used. We documented everything in detail. Then we went to store, showed them the document and a couple of damaged planks, and asked for a refund. There were Ali and another salesmen in store, they promptly refused our reasonable request. We demanded to talk with the owner, or have the owner's phone # or email so we could contact the owner directly. Ali pointed to the other salesman standing by him, said: "He is the owner." It turned out that salesman is just an employee, not owner. Ali lied again. They refused our request, said they would report this issue to the head office and call us back. We waited for 8 days, they didn't call us. We went to the store the second time. Ali was in the store, he said: "I haven't heard back from the head office." We asked when he would have the response back from the head office. Ali said: "I don't know." Obviously Ali was lying, he had no intention to solve the issue, so we requested to talk with the owner the second time, and asked for the owner's phone # and email. Ali said: "The owner is not here, I will not give you the owner's contact. You just talk to the store, not talk to the owner." We and Ali had an argument. At that moment a mid-aged female walked out from the back office and joined the conversation. She said she was the owner. So, Ali lied to us again. The owner admitted that the hardwood planks were junks, but she refused to refund our money. The owner is very rule and she said the product was sold as is. However, they lied to us about their product to seduce us to purchase it. This was cheating customers. We are entitled to get our money back. We spent $5000, got a truck load of garbage! We found out later from Google, there are other customers complaining about End of the Roll's lies. Looks like this kind of cheating is the store's common practice, and this kind of behavior should be stopped.

We truly enjoyed working with DJ from DeDe Construction. He was excellent from start to finish. DJ…read morearrived exactly when he said he would, explained everything he was going to do (and why), and always checked in with us to make sure we were happy with the progress. His attention to detail really shows, and you can tell he genuinely loves what he does. We are extremely pleased with the final result and would absolutely hire him again. Thank you, DJ, for the great work! Scott and Bianca

We moved back to Rochester from out of state and bought a home in Fairport that needed some…read moreupdating and a major renovation that included taking two bedrooms and making them into one large bedroom suite with an expanded bathroom and large walk-in closet. In addition to that, they also replaced 3 closet door sets, 2 exterior doors, replaced several light fixtures and ceiling fans and installed a new ceiling fan, replaced toilets, etc....DJ and his partner were given full access to the house and they were there every day, like clock work for almost 5 weeks and the place looks beautiful. They were prompt, courteous, polite, tidy and very skilled. Their work habits and attention to detail, etc...speaks volumes. DJ even acted as my agent and helped see other projects get done while he was doing his thing (garage floor epoxy, whole house generator install, appliance delivery and moving-he put a covering on the wood floors so they wouldn't get damaged, etc....) They weren't the lowest quote we received, but not the highest either. We had a somewhat aggressive timeline and they were the only ones who said they could do it. They worked into the late evening a few times just to make sure they did. Communication was very good, especially when we were not there one single day during the project, but 4 states away. If there was a question, DJ called. If I didn't answer, he would move on to something else until he got ahold of me and had the question answered. I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures of our project posted on his website. The bathroom, especially the tiling, gets alot of "ahhhs" and "oooohs" and a couple other contractors (working for HD) have looked at it and were impressed as well. Even our painter positively commented on it and he usually isn't complimentary :) Don't let their age keep you from hiring Dede. You'll swear they are 10-15 yrs older than they are. We look forward to having him do our other full bath in a couple months once we recuperate from moving in. PS - DJ would say good morning to us into our Ring doorbell when he would arrive in the mornings. He probably doesn't know we saw it, but it was recorded. Very nice young man
