I'm just a dad who has a really nice camera because I got tired of getting fuzzy photo's while on vacation with my wife and children. Even though I can't see myself doing this for a living, I'm always honored when people I know trust me with such an important day. My friends got married here last weekend and out of the 4 weddings I've been asked to be the lead photographer, this place has to be my favorite location. Quaint is defined as having an old-fashioned attractiveness or charm; oddly picturesque. Thompson House and Gardens is the quintessential poster child for the word quaint. From a photographer's standpoint, they offer beautifully manicured lawns with a variety of venues scattered around the grounds for prime photo opportunities. Sweeping lawns, fountains, Roman gazebo and even an old west saloon make for fun photos. Also, the house has a wraparound porch and the rear is equipped with a long rustic outdoor bar, barn-like shed, adorable mini-guest house and vine covered trellis walkway. The outdoor setting for a lawn wedding is as romantic as I've ever seen and the reception hall is picture perfect for both dining and dancing. The wedding party used the upper part of the home for pre-wedding preparations and privacy. Since the event was catered, there was no need for the kitchen, but there is one available. THE VERDICT It is absolutely beautiful here! Every guest I spoke with was in complete awe of this place, including myself. My wife and I have been considering renewing our vows for our 15th Anniversary next year and Thompson House & Gardens is going to be tops on my list. If you are looking for an excellent venue for your wedding, I highly recommend you consider hosting it here.

Planning and preparing with Clack's services was mostly smooth sailing, but there was some confusion that arose just prior to our wedding. We wanted to touch base with each of our vendors before our big day, but my husband was having difficulties getting in touch and getting on the same page with them. Seeing my husband getting frustrated, I decided to take the lead as the "Communication Champion". I reached out to the vendor via email and text and was able to get in contact with them without any issues. I clarified all the details with them before our wedding, ensuring that everything was perfectly arranged for our big day. A few days before our wedding, Clack informed us that Shannon would be our bartender. Shannon turned out to be a huge success! All of our guests loved her and had only the best things to say about her. In fact, no other vendor has received as many compliments from our guests as Shannon has. Initially, we thought her popularity might be due to a signature drink we served called "Welcome to Atlanta," but then we continued to hear more and more stories about her friendliness, skills, and professionalism. She also worked extremely well under pressure and was very efficient. Shannon not only made great drinks, but she also left a lasting impression on our family and friends. DON'T sit in the balcony for a concert. They seat 8 people to a large table, which is nice, you have a bunch of room. But no one at the table can see the stage if you are seated. Some people had to turn their chairs completely around and some people had to get up and stand at the balcony edge the entire time. Decent sound ( it was loud enough ) but couldn't hear what the singer was actually singing. I don't know if that is a band thing or a venue thing. The service was excellent, but we just purchased drinks. I have an issue with the bathroom. The stalls are so small in the women's bathroom that you have to STEP PAST the toilet to close the door. When you stand up after going, you have to back up to the side of the toilet to open the stall door. So uncomfortable! And THEN, wash your hands and there is no paper anywhere near the sinks! You have to walk to the door to get paper to dry your hands. So if you had to put your purse in between your knees to wash your hands, you will have to grab your purse with wet hands to get over to the towels to dry your hands.
