Overview of why I'm giving this company 1 star: - I was quoted 3 hours to pack *and* move my 1 bedroom apartment to a different unit within the SAME complex. - I was charged double the quote (around $800) for incomplete work. - I had to finish emptying cabinets, packing, carrying boxes, and reassembling furniture myself (disassembly and reassembly are clearly stated in their quote). - TV was dismounted however the actual stand was packed by them in an unlabeled box, so ultimately they left the 55-60" TV laying unsecured on my ottoman. - They missed multiple kitchen cabinets and the entryway closet, which I discovered later. - No labeling of boxes, no final walkthrough. - I'm happy they took a lunch break and had no problem buying them lunch, but the roughly 30 minute break was billed to me, which added about $65 to the total. I hired this company to help pack and move my 1-bedroom apartment within the same complex. I was quoted for 3 hours, but it ended up taking 6 hours and costing me $800 -- and they still didn't finish. I had to finish packing bring down the remaining boxes myself the next day. About 2.5 hours in, I offered to buy them lunch. They took what seemed to be a 30+ minute break, but that time was still billed to me -- which I hadn't expected, especially given the already doubled time and cost. Unfortunately, the boxes weren't labeled, which made unpacking difficult. They dismounted my wall-mounted TV but packed the stand in an unmarked box and left the large screen lying unsecured on my ottoman. I now need help setting it back up. When I returned to finish the job myself the next day, I found two kitchen cabinets full of pots and pans that hadn't been touched, along with a front entry closet that hadn't been emptied at all -- all of which I then had to pack and carry on my own. The movers were polite, and nothing was damaged, but the overall experience felt disorganized and inefficient and not worth the cost. I hate saying it but I almost felt scammed being charged $800 for the job they did; everyone I've told this to has been appalled. I appreciated the care with my items, but for the price I paid and the amount of work left undone, I expected a more professional and complete service. I wouldn't use this company again. I did call and speak to Jorge about these concerns before posting this review, and he expressed an apology. read more

-Poor Customer Service- We hired a team of movers, Thunderhorse Moving, via HireAHelper for our home yesterday, Wednesday 8/23 and paid $597.66. The team was courteous & very nice, however, there was substantial damage done to our home (dents, paint came off, scratches, smudges, etc.). Please be advised that this a newly built community (https://marchomes.com/kingston-meadow/ ). We closed escrow on 8/15/23 and just moved in yesterday. So you can imagine the disappointment & frustration we feel as homeowners. We appreciate the hard-work & back breaking labor put forth by your team but the aftermath done to our new home is unacceptable. I understand that HireAHelper contracts outside vendors, Thunderhorse Moving, in our case to deliver the service. While they did move our items on the 1st & 2nd floor, they did it without the proper tools (ie. no straps to carry washer & dryer AND sectional up to 2nd floor). My husband had to scramble to find his personal tool box to help the Thunderhorse Moving company as they didn't even have the proper tools needed. The onus is on HireAHelper to ensure that the 3rd party vendors contracted deliver the moving service correctly & arrive prepared, with the proper tools needed to ensure no damage is done to the customer's property. I contacted HireAHelper's customer support department and they are only offering a refund of $150. And would like me to take time out of my already busy -literally, moving into a home-schedule to "file a claim." I also have sent multiple emails to Thunderhorse Moving's point person, Jorge S. and have not received any response. read more

This company at first seemed great but when my things were delivered to me some things went missing. Plus a worker really gave me the creeps he kept asking where and why I was moving to Oregon. It's none of your business I should've told him. Timing was great but when it comes to honesty well let's just say they are lucky I didn't call the cops on them. I'm only giving them one star so I can post this review but I actually give them zero stars. read more

I worked with Jorge from Thunderhorse who did an amazing job moving me into a POD. It was my first POD experience and I had a hard time finding a mover who would move me into a POD and also one that would come early enough in the morning. I had a four man crew who did an EXCELLENT job! I was mostly packed, but had a bit of furniture that needed wrapping in pads and also lots of large pictures and mirrors that needed boxes made. They packed everything wonderfully and were so careful with my things. I was also nervous that my 2 bedroom condo was going to fit into the POD. I got the largest one but I was certain when they got near the end that the last of my things would not fit. They stacked it all so well there ended up being room to spare (although not much). I hope to stay local and if so would hire them in a heartbeat. I highly recommend them!! read more

They were on time They were quick They were friendly They moved a garage door opener and other items that were a bit unusual with a can do attitude They were concern with safety in moving a stove that was hooked up to a gas line. We got the Gas Company over within an hour to insure the line was turned off properly and caped Paying by linear foot to have items transported so they insure item were packed properly End up a foot shorter than what I thought I needed because of their packing. I would strongly recommend. Love that they are a small business and love supporting our local economy. I strongly recommend. read more

We moved 8 miles away from our previous home and had our pods delivered to our new address. On June 24, 2027, Colby and his partner were dispatched by George to assist with unloading the pods and reconstructing some of our furniture sets. We hired Jorge and his team to help with my boyfriend's move to San Francisco. The guys showed up on time and were ready to work. They carefully wrapped up the big items with blankets and shrink wrap before moving everything down 3 flights of stairs. The whole time, they were very courteous and accommodated our requests. We ended up needing additional tape and shrink wrap which the guys provided at a reasonable cost and saved us a trip to the store. Jorge was very responsive via phone and made the whole transaction super easy. I highly recommend these guys! read more

I highly recommend Arthur from Thunderhorse Moving. He saved me from purchasing a brand new couch for my new apartment. When I moved and hired a different moving company those movers were able to move everything into my apartment but my couch. Arthur and his friend came over the next day both were able to hoist my couch over the bannister on the 3rd floor of the apartment building, effortlessly and seamlessly in a timely manner. We needed movers to pack our pods and these guys were great. It was like watching a life size Tetris game watching them fit everything into the pods. I used them for my move today and George and his crew were amazing! They moved me out of my 2nd floor apartment with a curved staircase and they did it all quickly with a smile! They even carefully wrapped my coffee table's glass top and other framed art that I didn't have time to do at no extra cost to me. To top it all off I had a huge fridge that I added on to our move at the last minute and they happily took care of it for me. I looked at other competitors and mobile storage and these guys were by far the best option. I was a little worried because I have had bad experiences with movers before (showing up late or taking a very long time to load up when charging by the hour etc) and they called twice to confirm my requested time and were there exactly when I asked. They finished ahead of schedule. I would definitely use them again for my next move! Hopefully it won't be for awhile. read more

I was referred to Thunderhorse Moving from PODS when we reserved two PODS for an upcoming move. George and his team were extremely communicative from the get-go. We had two separate moving days, one at our storage unit and one at our home. They were EARLY both times ;) and they called / texted etc to always let us know timing, arrival, estimates, etc. We had three-men crews both days packing the PODS, they were efficient, hard working, careful, organized, pro-active, clean, polite and all around great guys. They helped make the dreadful task of moving all in all pretty easy and smooth. They were careful with our belongings and packed the PODS like magicians. George will breakdown the billing for you line item by line item - no hidden costs, very fair pricing. I had to coordinate the move of a friend's one-bedroom apartment contents to storage. The place hadn't been occupied for weeks and was filled to the brim. I used this company in 2017 to pack my things in a POD. At the time I thought the two guys were great they wrapped and and packed things very diligently but I did notIce that areas of boxes were not tieddown to keep items from falling over and breaking things. I did inquire about it and was told "it would be packed very tight". Well it did need to be tied down because not only did a few boxes and containers fall over and one container fall on top of one of the current movers head and hand that was unpacking the POD. They packed too many heavy items on top of my dinette table and it leaned into the side wall of the POD and the legs gave way and broke off. I don't know why they did not pack the chairs in the pod as well as the pieces to the refrigerator but I can only hope those items are in my other storage which might take months to get too; after getting someone to try and fix my table. I really hate to give a bad review on anyone but I have a table damaged, no way to sit at the table and eat and a refrigerator I can't put food in. read more

I called the number and the guy I spoke with had horrible reception and admitted he was overseas and said I needed to give them a $100 deposit to make it official...I've used movers numerous times and never once have I been asked for a holding deposit. Absolutely wonderful experience! I'd highly recommend Thunderhorse. They packed two very large pods for us and managed to use every extra nook and cranny. Not an inch was wasted. They arrived early, sent an extra guy upon my last minute request, and treated all of our stuff with care. They were incredibly hardworking, let us purchase furniture blankets and plastic wrap from them so we didn't have to try to figure out how much we'd need, and wrapped our plasma TV so that it was well protected. ThunderHorse Moving Co was extremely professional from the confirmation phone call from Jorge Salinas to the timely arrival of the movers, all the way to the completion of the job. I needed a 12' POD container filled so I hired 2 movers for 2 hours. I was pleasantly surprised when a foreman, Steven, came along to do the heavy lifting as well as oversee that the job was done perfectly. With the 3 of them working non-stop, the POD was loaded in 1.5hrs! I am definitely going to use them to unload when our renovation is completed. read more

This review is long overdue... Where should I begin? First, I was incredibly hesitant to make a reservation with George, because I have had trouble with movers in the past, primarily because my condo has 89 steps straight up to it, with no elevator to speak of. I have had men walk away from the job because of those steps combined with my very, very heavy furniture. But, after several calls to other movers, I went with my instincts and called George to confirm. I had a few stops with my move, one, in Santa Monica, Malibu, and a final one in Santa Fe Springs. George and his crew showed up on time in Santa Monica and then on to Malibu (the big move). They tackled the steps with no complaints. They moved my solid granite table with no problems. The heavy sofa made of a solid oak frame, extremely padded, was moved without hesitation. I could not have made this move-out without George and his team. They were all respectful, professional, and somehow made moving comedic and fun. Day two of the move was a stop at my storage in Santa Fe Springs. I had communicated with the people at the storage (operated by United Van Lines), and they are terrible to work with, and they did not fully explain the number of pieces I had. When George showed up we had a challenging dilemma of how to pack an already full 26 ft. truck with my remaining items. While, the folks at United Van Lines acted true to form, offering no help, George smiled and got to work figuring it out. He definitely knows his stuff! Although, I could not take everything, George helped me take the things I needed to take immediately. I cannot say enough good things about these guys! I was headed to Texas and when I arrived, to yet another challenge, as I began to unload my furniture to a historic home (not furniture friendly), I could not help but think, "I wish George and the guys were here!" In fact, I couldn't hire anyone to tackle the unloading that would have the right "GET IT DONE" attitude that George did, so I did it myself with my small crew :) I missed George every step of the way! I am still, after a month, so incredibly thankful to George and the guys for helping me with my move! You will not be disappointed with Thunderhorse! Trust me, you should disregard any negative review you see here, because, George would not leave anyone stranded unless, there was an absolute unforeseen emergency or breakdown of a vehicle that could not be fixed or a solution he couldn't come up with.
