Our "tent" site - we left a day early. See the road proximity to the site.

Though my fiancee and I will never return to this run-down, poorly managed campground with generally rude staff, I must compliment the person who took our last-minute reservation and checked us in, and the couple (who didn't even work there) that gave us a jump start. Our plans changed last minute, so we had no chance to read reviews - we figured, it's two nights, they got us a site, let's try them out. Big mistake on our part. Our experience is similar to what many others have said. I suspect the glowing reviews for this place are from long-term resident campers to prop up the ratings. That's where the positive aspects end. First, you will pay over $50/night for a site (obviously an old RV stall - these are not true tent sites) with no guarantee of getting a fire ring and picnic table. Also, the sites have no privacy at all and are so close to the road that you'll hear loud traffic all night. On top of that, if you are unlucky enough to get a tent site on the lower part of the campground, you won't even have a honey bucket available. You will have to cross the main road in the dark. Having said that, the bathrooms were quite clean. Be aware the promo photos are carefully taken to exclude the run down areas. There's a persistent "outsider/resident" vibe here that's pretty uncomfortable too. It's apparent that many of the campers are permanent or long-term there, and the staff treats those people differently. The kids run wild, the parents give you dirty looks at the common areas, and the staff only enforces the park speed limit on their whim. We returned for the day on Saturday, stopped at the restrooms, and that's when a staff member *blocked* my car with her gold cart, while the camper that apparently had complained also stopped BLOCKING my car, like they were some kind of cops. After lecturing me while effectively detaining me, the staff member continued to talk to the other camper before unblocking me. I'm still exploring my legal options against that employee - I didn't feel comfortable confronting or questioning her. We left a day early - it wasn't worth another loud night with that awful staff. They make you feel "watched". Save your money, and find another local campground with basic site amenities, about half the price, a welcoming vibe, and professional staff. We'll never return to this place.

This is a pretty good campground. The actual campground isn't that big but there are 2 overflow lots right near the river. There are 4 pools and there is also a family center, but those are all closed for now because of covid.

Great location, close to good shopping options. Limited FH sites especially in high use season. A good little park with friendy rangers.

While this R.V. park has potential, the things that were promised haven't been met. So here's an…read morehonest review from someone who use to be a full timer at this park but has since bought a house and has moved on good terms: 1. There is no shade, which some may enjoy due to not having to worry about large trees falling on one's rig. When it comes to the playground there needs to be some sort of shade for the kids. 2. They are wanting to install a BBQ pit area in the field near the dog park but all RV'ers travel with cooking supplies and grills and there are no Tent sites for camping tents which people who are tent camping would benefit from the BBQ area. So it makes no sense to spend money on such a thing when no one will use it. 3. A swimming pool would change this R.V. park in an instant, it would become the hit place in town and they could easily charge more $$ per night for such a thing yet it constantly gets over looked. 4. A park upgrade could also change this place, everything is broken, and it's a half a$$ put together park/playground situation. The kids are always in the creek behind the park where there is shade because the playground is lacking so much. 5. Come summertime US-2 the highway that you drive on to get to and from town is terrible, stand still traffic every single weekend. Which means you loose your weekend stuck at the RV park with no shade or fun things to do unless you want to fight the traffic. 6. There use to be a good number of full timers and weekend visitors, it is now mostly full timers. Some with nice clean organized sites, some look like a dump field. There are no set rules it seems. Hopefully you get a clean, quiet neighbor. There have been field mice problems in people's rigs and car engines. 7. Ever since they added the Gracies place food into the resort the traffic coming in for coffee and food SPEEDS into the RV park going 35+, there are kids crossing that section of the road to get to the park and I've seen many times a car get too close to a kid coming in so fast. This is NOT ok. 8. The food at Gracie's place is Sysco food, it isn't the freshest. The wait time can be insane and the customer service could be improved a bit. 9. They state 2 dogs a site only, some sites have 3+ dogs. They also state 2 cars only per site, some sites have 2+ cars. They also state no trailers at your site, some sites have trailers parked at their site. Again there is no uniform rules. 10. This park has potential, it's been tossed around in management. No real guidance, it's surviving on pure luck and due to the fact that's it's the only RV park somewhat close to Seattle that's so flexible with its rules it will allow just about anything unlike the others closer to the city.

Keep an eye out especially during the fall and winter, or if you're particularly committed, there are several social media groups dedicated to posting about whale sightings. Chief Seattle and his tribe greeted them and helped them build their cabin to stave off the cold, wet winter." Little did that settlers know that a little over 100 years following this the beach would be a party beach with teens driving up and down the street with their loud motors, bonfires and Bluetooth speakers and other activity clearly trying to draw attention. The beach itself is nice but it's way crowded. I came here and it was only like mid-April, and it happened to be a decent day with some sun but boy was it crowded and noisy. Like a lot of beaches parking is a bit touch and go as well with mostly street parking that you have to luck out with. I'm told you can walk and bike your way downtown from here which must be interesting. While Alki is nice, the vibe seems totally for the young blood out here trying to impress one another. Lincoln Park beach is a bit more my scene.

The owners, Barbara and Dalton were so nice and down to earth, They are true animal lovers just like we are. They have over 20 horse, 3 dogs, 2 mules and they offer it all. This isn't your 1 hour trail ride up a dirt road and back. This ride is 3 to 4 hours long, through trees, down what looks like animal trails in the woods, you criss cross through the woods and clear cuts in the Skykomish River Valley then you head up mountain to this amazing lookout and have lunch. I rode a wonderful gelding named Bernie. Bernie's a Missouri Fox Trotter and he was super sweet. Chris rode Comet, she's a Tennessee Walker. Chris said she floated. You can see for miles up on "the rock". When you look down into the valley and see just how far you have ridden, you are amazed. Dalton said it is probably 5 miles. The lunch is amazing, it's from the Sultan Bakery and it is one of the best lunches I've had. Sitting up on the rock just me, Chris, and Dalton was so relaxing. We became instant friends. Stillwater Ranch offers a variety of rides that include river rafting, fishing, moonlight rides, overnight camping and much, much more. You can ride in all seasons - We are looking forward to a winter ride when the valley is covered in snow. They are even starting a wine dinner ride - woo hoo. The next time we need an equestrian fix, we will look to Stillwater Ranch to supply it.
