As a non Filipino tourist, I enjoyed the time spent with friends and family there. There are very…read morefew places I know of where the sheer massiveness of Metro Manila can really be appreciated or where the city's skyline is so defined. I can't speak much on the food as we only had some soft drinks. If you're new to the region, I definitely recommend walking the bridge to the viewing platform.

Since we got nowhere w/trying to call or get information on line we decided to take a trip there and check it out. V Cloud 9 is located within the Manila metro area and only 7.9 miles from my brother in laws house so we decided to take a GRAB (Uber like service only better) to Cloud9 today to possibly check in and maybe get away for awhile. When we arrived at Cloud9 and went to the check in desk we mentioned the inability to get through on the phone line because NO ONE ANSWERED the phone or lack of response we received a rather snotty response from the girl at the front desk. We still decided to check out a room since we were there already. The room was nice, but my brother in law suggested checking out the grounds first. This was an smart idea because many of the amenities can be accessed wo/paying for an overnight stay. We walked through the outdoor dining area to a deck that gave us a panoramic view of metro Manila, unfortunately the air over Manila had a thin layer of air pollution that didn't allow for a clear view of the city & surrounding areas. We realized that we could access the small museum & hanging bridge to gain access to the 360 degree view from the tower above the resort for 7 pesos/person a whopping 55 cents for 4 people. The museum was very small and had a few artifacts of finds on the Philippine island from different cultures over a period of time. Some of the artifacts were a Chinese funerary figure from the Han Dynasty (206 BC - 220 AD) & some bronze ceremonial daggers from Indonesia-Javanese Sri Vijaya Period (660-1377 AD). There were other artifacts as well, but we were anxious to get to the hanging bridge outside. We kind of breezed through the museum anxious to go up the hanging bridge. The hanging bridge was pretty cool. Its a steel cable bridge that goes from the entry level just outside of the museum & up over the open air to the 360 degree observatory at the top. The climb up the bridge was a cool, but a little nerve racking as it swayed in the breeze. The view from the top had a slightly higher vista then the outdoor deck outside of the restaurant & a better unobstructed 360 degree panoramic view. Other then the items mentioned the only other attraction was a remote swimming pool which we chose not to go to after reading negative reviews. Our group assessment is you can see most of what Cloud 9 has to offer wo/paying for an overnight stay. It was an enjoyable pace to spend a few hours.

There is a nice pool that over looks the valley below & the ocean beyond. They have a variety of amenities like horseback riding. My brother in laws granddaughter kept telling me that she wanted to go horseback riding her sister also wanted to go horseback riding so I bought 3 rides. The problem, there was only one horse, so I needed to wait while the 3 rides were completed. They also have ATV's that you can rent and an assortment of other activities they can be purchased ala cart. It's not the most exciting place I have been to & is definitely catered to families w/kids The nice thing is it's inexpensive & only about 1 hour from Manila. My wife's 3 kids loved it. They have a restaurant that is a nightmare in itself & really spoiled our day. The service at the restaurant that's a different beast altogether. We had 9 people dining in & the service sucks (-1 star). 9 people dining in w/more then a 1hr & 20 minute wait for our food. We had 6 adults & 3 kids in our group. They gave us 2 plates and 2 silverware settings for 9 people. Are you kidding me. No Napkins & 2 dishes after 1 hour & 20 minutes. There was NO WAITRESS so I got my drinks from the bar. The head bartender told me he's leaving because of the lack of service. I ordered a Long Island ice tea & tipped him handsomely. Each subsequent drink was stronger then the one before. He made me some kickass drinks (5 Stars). The drinks made the waiting a little more palatable, but 1 hr & 2 minutes to get our food was inexcusable. My brother in law and everyone at our table was raging at the staff for the lousy service. Eventually a manager then the General Manager came. We were able to get 50% off of our meal & an additional 20% off w/a senior discount for anyone over 60 years old that's a Filipino resident (my brother in law). Bakasyunan Resort is someplace you would go to if you have kids kind on like the Dells in WI, but not somewhere here I would want to go to again.

AS IN! Sobrang sulit yung bayad mo mars! For as low as P550, pwede ka nang makaidlip. Hahaha. Mailaban lang na wholesome nga dito girl! Choz forever

Everyone who we encountered there was so nice, friendly and accommodating. I had the impression that they love working there and it shows. It is a wonderful place to be in when people who cater to you are happy. I took one star out because of the food. We ate at the White Barn 2 times and it wasn't that great. The Thai food wasn't what I expected it to be albeit had all the necessary ingredients but that taste just wasn't there. Thai food is a little sweet but not too sweet or over powering. The chicken soup I ordered lacked a little sweetness and the chicken pad kapkrow had way too much hoisin sauce which was almost to the point of caramelization. It no longer tasted like meat. Pad kaprow is a delicate balance of oyster sauce and chopped basil leaves. In this case the basil was deep fried and totally separated from the dish & used as a garnish instead. So I wasn't too happy. But we did enjoy the breakfasts and the foam parties. Friends loved all of our posts of the hotel and was asking where it was. Hopefully this will give you a little bit more exposure. Some of the soft furnishings in the room need an update. Other than this I would definitely stay here again. Oh also love the shuttles to D'mall and around the property.

What's more can one want ? Oh yeah.... a cool mango shake in my hand wouldn't hurt! The location is private and far from town, so don't stay here if you want all the hustle and bustle. Go down and stay near White Beach. But if you want peace and quiet, this is it! We didn't golf on this trip but some of the fairways are less than green. I guess the water conservation in Makati spilled over here in Boracay too. Coming from drought-stricken California, we totally understand. I've golfed in Cancun and Vietnam, so I must say the weather here in March is California-like, not humid, and ideal for golfing. I'm surprised no one else has discovered Fairways and Bluewater like we have.
