I will say we got here early by around 9ish and the parking lot was still pretty empty. We were only coming for like 2 hours so I do wish there was some sort of a different rate if you're not here for a full or even a half day. It was super chilly and windy even though it was the end of July, but we did enjoy laying down and getting some salt water breeze and just the sound of the water was enough to be able to enjoy. Some parts of the sand are rocky but we landed in an area that was pretty flat and sandy. As we were leaving, the parking lot was packed and I can imagine this being a place that gets filled and booked up if you don't come by a certain time. Pro tip: If you hike/walk/ride into the park, you can avoid the $25 parking fee. Other than that, be sure to bring your coral reef safe sunblock, pickup after yourself (and others if you love turtles), bring plenty of snacks and stay hydrated. Would I come to this beach as my main destination, probably not. For sure a one and done but absolutely enjoyed getting some beach and relax time.

There is one parking lot located across the pond that has a decent number of parking spaces. There is a trail on the other side of the parking lot that leads to the sand along with benches and picnic tables. In front, there is a big pond that is long, hence the name Long Pond. Looking on Google maps, you'll see why that's the name. Some changes have been made since we came this year with the main dock to dive from being moved to the side, with a note on it saying private property (I have a photo of it). Back then, anyone could dive from it. Another additional upgrade that was well needed was providing more benches in the sand. I find that to be very helpful for people who do not like sitting in the sand or just don't like laying in the sun. The beach has a decent size but most of the time, especially in the late afternoon to early evening, it will get packed. There is usually enough room toward the pond but may have to go into the back toward the woods. Motorboats are not allowed at this pond, in fact, any. However, paddle boats are allowed or in general anything nonmotor related. With that, have fun at Long Pond!

The one parking lot is very small and usually crowded but if you don't mind waiting 5 or 10 minutes, somebody is usually pulling out. There is also handicapped parking right next to the beach. There are two portopotties, no showers, no running water, and no food concessions. A no frills beach. The water is super clean in this kettle pond formed by glaciers thousand of years ago and no motorized boats are allowed. There is a decent sized wooden raft to swim out to and hang out or fool around, throwing each other off. This second option is popular with kids. The actualy beach used to be mostly grass which has slowly diminished over the years and is now mostly sand. There are two wood benches. There are shade trees in a few spots. Great for large groups up to maybe 15 or 20. You can access Long Pond Road from the center of town or Route 6 or Ocean View Drive. If you do not have a beach sticker, you will either get a ticket or be towed. I am not sure. Beach stickers are available on the town pier for those folks who have proof of residence, either as permanent ie own property or vacationers with proof of stay from the establishent where they are staying. Small sailboats and canoes are OK for this pond. There is a small connecting pond to the left of the beach.

First off, you do need a beach sticker provided by the town of Wellfleet. However, in the nighttime, it does not matter. There is a huge parking lot for enough spaces, and most likely you will find a spot during the daytime. A bathroom is provided in the lot in the center. There's even an ice cream truck featuring hot dogs and water that's parked toward the ocean. For the fun, there is a big hill to climb down either way (left or right) that leads down to the beach and sands. Normally, you'll find a lot of people with their blankets and sometimes looking for a spot can be very time-consuming. There are a couple of lifeguards here at Newcomb, but only patrol a small area, so please be careful in the water. Bonfires are allowed but require a permit in the same place where a beach sticker is picked up. Getting here to Newcomb is very easy as it is located at the end of Ocean View Drive. During high tide, the sandy beach area does become a little smaller, but don't worry plenty of room to still put down your beach towel and/or umbrella. This is my favorite beach on the whole Cape too. LeCount Hollow adjoins equally beautiful Cahoon Hollow Beach, the parking lots are a very short drive from each other. You will have an identical experience at either of these beaches and I recommend both. This beach reminds me a bit of some of the beautiful California beaches that I have been to with it's majestic dunes. I love how you feel like you are removed from civilization when you are down on the beach. So peaceful being here, especially before the Cape's peak tourist season begins. The biggest negative is the very large dune you have to walk up and down to access the beach, this is especially challenging with loads of beach gear. This past summer nearby Cahoon Hollow has some serious erosion troubles with the dunes. Also, paying to park is quite steep, but if you come in the off season it is free.
