When our child aged out of a First Steps Talking Time agreed to allow for us to pay for ongoing outpatient care for our child at school and home. This care continued for two years and in that time we experienced high turn over with the Speech Theripists assigned to our child. Our child's outpatient Speech Therpy sessions became unpredictable and on several occasions our Speech Therapist didn't show up. Then to our disappointment with no notice we were told that Talking Time could no longer provide services to our special needs child. Failure to provide our family adequate notice left us scrambling to find alternative speech therapy for our child. Our family has paid this school thousands of dollars. Disappointing ending to a long and expensive relationship that was very important to our family and our child.

There is great communication from the therapists so I know what is going on during sessions and what I can be doing at home to encourage language use and development. And for our socially anxious kiddo, she has helped him graduate from having to have me glued to his side for each appointment, to having him talk with her one on one. She has also been helpful in connecting us with other services in the area for different needs my kids have (such as voc rehab for another kiddo of ours).

He is non verbal & is unable to tell me why he had a huge knot & bruise on his head! I am working to ensure no one else's child has to suffer from the neglect they could receive at Light House Autism Center (Caselton location) My educated opinion is the assistant director Rachel & the director Bryn Nicholas lack the compassion and honesty needed when your child is injured under their management. Please, please do better research of this facility than I did to ensure your child is properly cared for! If your child is currently a learner there, I caution their parents to make sure their child is not being mistreated. Also, if you have a small child I recommend you don't have them attend their due to the safety of the equipment and playing areas! My child fell off a swing while under his one-on-one caregiver supervision, hit his head on a wooden beam (that does not any padding) and I received a call from the assistant director (Rachel) informing me, my son fell when he was walking. Later to learn in the incident report that he actually fell and hit his head on a UNPADDED wooden beam (in an autism center) Since my non verbal son could not tell me how he felt or how he had a huge knot & was badly bruise, I had to spend the evening in the emergency room.....having X-rays, concussion test done & talking with insurance! The history of Easter Seals Crossroads in Indiana starts in 1936. Mrs. William Gavin started a club…read morewith 12 people with disabilities with a primary goal of socialization. Joined by Mrs. P.R. Mallory, they would expand into creating profitable handicrafts and in 1939 the group formally organized under the Indiana Society for Crippled Children. I'll admit it. The word crippled makes me cringe. A year later, the group affiliated with national Easter Seals and acquired an office at 30th and New Jersey. They've had various offices, however, they've been settled in at 4740 Kingsway Drive (think 47th & Keystone) since 1990. Today, Easter Seals is CARF accredited (This is a big deal) and offers physical, occupational, and speech therapies for children and adolescents along with early intervention programs, augmentative communication, adult day services, employment and transition services, veteran services, home modification services, assistive technology services, and deaf services. They offer a lot. For the last three years, I've served as a jury member for Easterseals Southern California's Disability Film Challenge. This has, in turn, increased my awareness of the local organization and the marvelous work they do. Of course, getting to know Yelper Katy E. (Hi Katy!) has also helped. As an organization, I love that Easter Seals participates in Project Search, an opportunity for young adults with disabilities to get some experience in a work setting. It's kind of like an internship and it's a wonderful program. Here in Indy, Easter Seals has offices on Kingsway Drive, Thompson Road on the Southside, and Crossroads Industrial Services on the Eastside. As another review has indicated, Easter Seals is also known for letting organizations use its big 5th floor meeting room. I work for the State of Indiana and even we've used it. The offices here are well kept. The building is obviously accessible. The people who work here are passionate about what they do - trust me, you don't work at a non-profit planning to get rich. You get paid fairly (and Easter Seals is good about this), but this is something you do because you actually care. For folks with disabilities, Easter Seals Crossroads is definitely one of Indy's hidden gems and best non-profits. They do remarkable work that leads to greater independence and empowerment and life opportunities. I'm all about that!

I don't come to this building but a few times a year, for large meetings that our own office cannot…read morehold. I appreciate that they allow us to use this location when we need it. It's located in the office park off of Keystone and 46th and houses a lot of different companies. The building is kept very clean! But not in that sterile freaky way. It also gives the impression that it is kept very secure since every person needs to sign in. My only visit is the 5th floor, off the elevator and over to the large meeting room. Everything is clean, and we have never had issues with the internet connection for presentations. I also appreciate that it is a spacious meeting room with a lot of tables and chairs in the back. No one likes to be piled on top of each Other during long meetings. Thanks for the hospitality Easter seals!

I found New Perspectives when looking for a therapist for my pre-teen daughter several years ago…read more They were convenient to our home and had someone specializing in adolescent counseling. Sarah Baumgartner has been an asset in dealing with challenges that have come up. She holds a group for teen girls every few months. There are other experts available for all ages at this location, including a psychiatrist and psychologist, with several methods and focus matters that include, but are not limited to ADD/ADHD, OCD, family issues, substance abuse, self harm, eating disorders, anxiety and depression. Each therapist keeps their own schedule and hours. Many at this practice accept credit cards and file insurance. The office environment is relaxing and nurturing. We've been very pleased to have someone help to mediate or offer understanding and suggestions for how to handle and best overcome circumstances that sometimes become a temporary roadblock to life and allow her to blossom and realize her full potential.

As the son of a dentist I have found the quality of care to be top notch and I trust Dr. Juntgen to care for my kids oral health. The waiting room is clean and modern and kids are entertained through movies that play in one corner. One of the practices I really appreciate occurs at the end of each office visit. Dr. Juntgen and her staff provide a consultation that summarizes the visit and point out areas to watch and tips to help the kids keep their gums and teeth healthy. These meetings involve the kids so they can hear first-hand how to take care of themselves and see the images that reveal the health of their teeth and gums on a computer monitor.
