From the moment I met her, I instantly felt comfortable and at ease ( which is difficult for me) I have heard about Reiki as a healing modality to help with anxiety and some health issues that I was struggling with and was interested in trying it out after using other traditional healing modalities with little progress in the big picture. Once I started to see Andrea, I felt a real shift in how I was feeling. The best way to explain it is that I feel like the best version of myself. Happier, more energetic, less worried, healthier and suddenly life is easier to deal with. I first met Andrea Deierlein when she was hosting an informational Reiki experience at the Crestwood Library in Yonkers. She gave us a brief history of Reiki and how she became a Reiki Master in the traditional Japanese style. She then offered Reiki healing to the group if they were interested. Well, who wouldn't be interested in finding out firsthand how this felt? Wow! The energy emanating from her hands as she lightly touched my head was something that I had never felt before. The next day, I went on the internet to learn more about Andrea and Reiki and saw that she had an upcoming session to train Reiki practioners. Being a decades long meditator, this was definitely something that I was interested in learning and I signed up to take classes and become a practitioner. I have completed the first level, Shoden, and am looking forward to continuing with Andrea for the second level at some point. Andrea is always positive, sincere and kind and very easy to talk with. I don't quite have the words to describe the profound effect Reiki healing by Andrea has had on me and in such a short amount of time-however I am going to try! I had the fortune of meeting Andrea this summer through my job. I had heard of Reiki but didn't really know much about it. I went through a terrible divorce last year and am just now getting my children and I back on track. Needless to say I've suffered both physically and emotionally a great deal in my life. I opened up to Andrea during one of our meetings and she offered to lay her hands on me. I entered the world of Reiki with scant knowledge of it. I knew it involved hands-on energy, but assumed it was much ado about nothing. Going to one of Andrea's free Reiki sessions at Crestwood Library gave me an inkling I might re-evaluate my assumptions. I learned that Reiki contained within it multiple modalities, and that hands-on was but one of them. I booked a session with her, but still had low expectations. This was my first experience actually having Reiki done and Andrea is the perfect practitioner. Her quiet demeanor is so calming from the first moment. She explains everything about what to expect and answers all your questions. I reached out to Andrea because I was in the middle of final exams and was in an absolute state of panic. Andrea is a gifted practitioner. I had two sessions with Andrea and had very good results from them. During the sessions she had been able to intuitively sense where to place her hands and where I needed reiki most. She spent time before the start of the session assessing my needs and finding out my expectations of the session. She allowed ample time for me to relax and unwind after the session, asked how I felt after the treatment. She also provided her feedback on what she observed during the session. If you never tried Reiki before - or if you have - this is the place to go. Andrea was so professional and calm that I felt more relaxed from the moment I walked into the space. She explained every step and I felt at peace right away. I wasn't sure how it would work, but I could feel my body respond even through my clothes (you leave them on and stay under a comfy blanket) It is worth going. This place has a wonderful atmosphere and my Reiki session with Andrea was the most relaxing experience I've ever had. She is an absolute professional and at the same time very empathetic and able to feel out the most affected areas of the body. It's a very gentle but effective treatment.
