I have Lupus SLE and was going through months of non-stop flaring and had a gut feeling (intuition) that something inside me was unbalanced, thus causing my stress and anxiety to be in a state that I could just not tame. After doing some research and reading reviews on several practitioners, I was drawn to Andrea due to her traditional practice and scheduled a session with her that same week. I didn't know what to expect and so we started our session with her explaining what Reiki is and how it can help so many ailments. I also gave her some background on why I was seeking help. As an empath, I've always had difficulty controlling my emotions, especially when put in a negative situation and I explained this to Andrea who just understood exactly what I meant and was feeling. My session went SO well and after I opened my eyes I felt more like myself again, more positive, more calm and all of the anxiety felt like it just withered away. I was very intrigued by this practice and pursued Reiki training with Andrea shortly after my session. This was where I felt a true shift in my inner energy and mindset overall. I'm in the process of completing the first level, but have found that I've been so dedicated and committed to healing myself with Reiki on a daily basis, several times a day. As someone who works in a high-stress environment, Reiki has certainly changed my vibe at work and with my coworkers... I don't feel so drained after work, like someone stole my energy, and I feel more alive. In just the short time I've practiced Reiki, I've been able to make an impact with people I interact with daily... it truly has been such a blessing and I know this will be a part of my life and my being for years to come. I've done Reiki a couple of times before but never felt a huge difference. With Deborah, it was different. During the session, Deborah asked questions to understand my needs and concerns. She was positive and warm, and made me feel very comfortable. She also introduced me to flower essences, which I hadn't heard of prior. During the healing session, I yawned a lot (like I was releasing a lot of repressed energy!). Afterwards, I felt relaxed - it was clear that the session truly worked although it wasn't done in person, which I was a little nervous about at first. Deborah also quickly followed up after our session with additional information and promptly responded to a follow up question I had about flower essences. It's been four days since our session, and my chronic neck pain that I've had for 10 weeks is significantly better - in a way my chiropractor couldn't help. The minute you step foot, you can feel it running through your body, and you can honestly tell it is a safe place. After doing some exploring in Nyack, something told us to make a left and walk down the road, which is where we found The Open Spirit. We had the pleasure of meeting Jackie, who had such a warm and fun spirit! She greeted us with open arms, engaged in a conversation, and go to know who we were. We've been back numerous times since, and every time Jackie remembers who we are. In fact, the second time we ever went back, was to check out Nyack's street fair. We went to visit Jackie's booth and the minute we stepped foot she told everyone inside that we were the guys from NYC she couldn't stop talking about. It was such a humbling and grateful experience. Every time we visit the shop we meet someone new. We were there about 2 weekends ago, and we met Lisa. Again, another great soul to come across! There are so many wonderful things in this shop that speaks to you. I have purchased a handful of items that are now placed throughout my home. Previously, I had been seeing an acupuncturist at another facility and it was a not a good experience: the woman was nice enough, but she would quickly poke all the needles in, tell me to relax then slam the door on her way out. I would lie there as I heard people talking just outside the door, things slamming into the walls, loud pop music playing, etc. Not relaxing at all. So I sought out a new place and found The Heart to Hand Healing Center. I see Erikka for acupuncture and from the get-go she made me feel incredible comfortable. She spent time getting to know me and the issues that I was seeing her for, and customized my acupuncture experience.
