After his initial assessment, the team agreed he needed 30+ hours of weekly ABA therapy to support his development. Unfortunately, Rush consistently failed to deliver. Despite the agreed-upon plan, our son never received more than 17 hours per week, even during summer sessions it was decreased even further down to just 13 hours. Early intervention is critical for autistic children to build essential skills in communication, cognition, and social development, as emphasized by every autism support group we've joined. Rush's inability to provide the recommended therapy hours has hindered our son's progress. Worse, Rush made recommendations that seemed contrary to his best interests, such as reducing his weekly hours after he missed a few days over a couple of weeks or allowing their therapist make medical diagnosis when they have no training to diagnose medical conditions. This lack of commitment and follow-through has been deeply disappointing. We expected a center dedicated to supporting autistic children to prioritize their needs, but Rush fall far short of that standard.

Originally, I came here after a motorcycle accident that resulted in a completely torn PCL. This made me unable to live not only the extremely active lifestyle I was used to (lifting, krav maga, and rock climbing), but to even walk without pain. Halfway through treating my knee, I was rear-ended by a drunk driver, resulting in whiplash that has taken almost an year to treat. Through it all, the Activa team helped me navigate my treatments and were there for me as emotional support as well. I never doubted my full recovery despite its length--Samir and his team ensured I followed up with an orthopedic doctor if I was extra anxious about something. I am extremely thankful that I chose Actinva as my PT clinic and always enjoying coming even if I talked trash to the team's face. Thanks for everything guys!!

Amy Stumpf is beyond excellent and helped me so much! She went out of her way to get me in for an appt as soon as I was released from the hospital so that I could begin to receive help regarding breast feeding. She was also able to evaluate my son's mouth for ties and walked me through all the oral stretches after those were released. Highly highly recommend.

They have created an incredible environment both physically and culturally. My daughter loves coming to speech therapy - an unbelievable feat! Between the gyms full of fun equipment to bounce, swing, climb, and jump on and the toys/games room filled to the brim with so many types of activities, BDI really lives up the "playhouse" in their name. All the therapists incorporate play into their sessions, either switching between exercises and fun, or combining the two! Everyone I've encountered seems to genuinely enjoy their job. When you walk into BDI, there is an upbeat positive feeling throughout- therapists greeting their next appointments as well as saying hello to the other kids they see. The other patients are happy to see their buddies (therapists) too! You can tell that everyone cares deeply about their patients. A wonderful benefit of their multidisciplinary office is the collaboration between therapists and disciplines. If your child needs multiple services, the therapists are in one location and can easily work together, determining the appropriate order and timing for the different services. It is much less coordination for the parent, both from a scheduling perspective and a patient approach. The patient gets better care with less friction. And, if the stars and schedules align, sometimes you can get back to back appointments to minimize visits to the office too! My daughter has worked primarily with Amy for speech therapy, with some physical therapy from Lisa. Amy has a kind welcoming demeanor that was absolutely perfect for my daughter, who takes time to warm up to new people. Amy moves at Viv's pace while still getting through the therapy exercises. She is able to gently reign Viv in when she is being less than cooperative. Amy is realistic about what is and is not feasible for daily homework and keeps it to the most impactful exercises. We love Miss Amy! Lisa is also wonderful, regularly checking in with Viv to see how things feel and making sure nothing hurts. She doesn't dismiss Viv's feelings and reactions, but uses them to guide treatment. There is a level of respect and consideration for the kids that they don't always receive from grownups. I have also gotten to be a patient at BDI for physical therapy, specifically for Craniosacral therapy (CST). I've had long standing challenges around breathing/posture/stress and have spent many years working through these with exercise, speech, physical therapy, and more. Lisa, Andrea, and Cassie at BDI have been an incredibly important part of improving these issues. I have been a tightly wound person my whole life, never good at relaxing. Other than coming out of anesthesia after surgery, I've never truly felt relaxed in my body until a few sessions into CST. I hadn't consciously taken a real, full, deep breath using the correct primary breathing muscles until my CST sessions at BDI. Now that I know what a relaxed state and a full deep breath feel like, I can get much closer to replicating them on my own through home practice. I feel calmer. My posture has improved- my shoulders are less rounded and my rib cage moves a lot more. I'm able to use these improvements in my Pilates practice to make more lasting improvements. The actual sessions are wonderfully relaxing. I highly recommend BDI Playhouse - an exceptional environment providing supportive services to kids and grownups. I'm so glad we found BDI Playhouse!

A few of the staff are really nice, but by far we were disappointed with his care and treatment while there. As other people have mentioned, call lights went ignored for over 30mins. We had to ask for sheets to be changed when they were obviously dirty, My husband was told he was driving the staff crazy one night by asking to go to the bathroom too frequently. He was given a urine catcher to use in the bed instead. The only reason my husband needed help to go to the bathroom was that he had a feeding tube which needed to be unplugged. He was also on laxatives and diuretics. Residents are only offered a shower 2x per week despite the doctor ordering that he shower daily. We had to bring our own towels because they would only give him 1 on the days he was assigned for showers. Other orders from our doctors were also routinely ignored in regard to wound care and drainage outputs. We had a nurse argue with us over how his meds should be administered. She told us that she'd read the chart and that's the way medicine worked. We asked her to look at the chart again because he took his meds orally despite otherwise being NPO. She went back and looked again. We were right. No apology was offered. The final straw was that he developed a bed sore. At that point we said he was going home. The day he was discharged his nurse was showing me how to check the drains and such. There was a problem with one of them. She supposedly fixed it but when we got home the drain literally fell out less than an hour later. I called Thrive and they said it wasn't their problem since he was discharged.
