From the initial office consultation, through surgery and into the follow-up visit with the doctor, all of the Hinsdale Orthopedics staff we encountered were terrific. I hesitate to name some of the staff specifically, because they were all professional, helpful and courteous, but I offer 3 in particular. Katie: during the initial office visit in August and the follow up visit in late October, Katie was knowledgeable, caring and patient. She answered all of our questions carefully and made my mom feel like she was a VIP. You can tell when someone takes pride in their work - that's Katie. Judy: working behind the scenes, Judy took care of all of the scheduling details. But more importantly, she took the time to check on progress and results. In the critical week before surgery, she noted that the labs facility (not affiliated with their office) had not followed through on the lab orders correctly. She alerted me so I could get my mom's labs taken care of so we didn't lose the surgery date. Kudos to Judy for great communications and taking the time to care about us. Dr. Alden: doctor made my mom feel at ease with his easy-going manner. Once he established that surgery was the best course of action, he made it clear that the timeline was entirely up to us - absolutely no pressure. He carefully explained her options, fully answered our questions and discussed the expectations of surgery. Interaction at the hospital and follow-up at the office was likewise caring and patient. We have no other experience to compare to. This was the first joint replacement surgery in our immediate family. But without hesitation, we would recommend Dr. Alden and his excellent staff. As I write this, mom is 3 weeks and 3 days post-surgery. For the most part, she has graduated from the walker and is using the cane around the house, becoming more independently mobile every day. Prior to surgery, she had very significant bone-on-bone pain. Her pain is now limited to minor muscle pain as she gets adapted to her new hip and increased mobility. The prognosis is for zero pain in the very near future. Thank you Dr. Alden for giving my mom a new period in her life of increased mobility and much less pain.

The therapist (ATI) recommended by Hinsdale Orthopedics was totally incompetent but I was JUST getting my range of motion back and the MUA caused swelling putting me back to square one. Had he not done that, I would've gotten my ROM back. Insurance dropped me because I "wasn't making progress". I fell into deep depression as I was an extreme athlete and now I'm a cripple with a cane.

(Side note: one popular physical therapy chain wanted to charge 4 times more!) I was really hoping the lower cost did not effect the quality of my therapist and/or the care I received but I had absolutely nothing to worry about. I owe that all to my physical therapist, Katie, who is knowledgeable and was committed to resolving the chronic pain associated to bursitis in my shoulder. As she worked with me and evaluated what was going on, she explained why I felt pain during particular movements and assigned exercises to strengthen areas that would reverse my condition and lessen inflammation. I felt positive differences after two visits and I continue to see improvement with the home exercises that were assigned to sustain the health of my shoulder. As I write this, my shoulder is about 90% improved since the time I started therapy in late August and it is getting better by the day. I have to admit though, I was skeptical about whether or not I would have this much relief. I had heard about physical therapy being useful for people who have had surgery or injuries but hadn't heard about the benefits for chronic pain until my doctor told me to go. I am now a believer. During my time there, I have interacted with various members of their staff and everyone is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. It is an upbeat environment, the facility is clean and the people who are going through therapy seem to also be making strides. I highly recommend PT Solutions in South Naperville. This made me unable to live not only the extremely active lifestyle I was used to (lifting, krav maga, and rock climbing), but to even walk without pain. Halfway through treating my knee, I was rear-ended by a drunk driver, resulting in whiplash that has taken almost an year to treat. Through it all, the Activa team helped me navigate my treatments and were there for me as emotional support as well. When we started at Rush Pediatric Therapy, our 4-year-old son was non-verbal and severely delayed,…read morestruggling to achieve milestone that most of an 18-month-old level per CDC milestones. After his initial assessment, the team agreed he needed 30+ hours of weekly ABA therapy to support his development. Unfortunately, Rush consistently failed to deliver. Despite the agreed-upon plan, our son never received more than 17 hours per week, even during summer sessions it was decreased even further down to just 13 hours. Early intervention is critical for autistic children to build essential skills in communication, cognition, and social development, as emphasized by every autism support group we've joined. Rush's inability to provide the recommended therapy hours has hindered our son's progress. Worse, Rush made recommendations that seemed contrary to his best interests, such as reducing his weekly hours after he missed a few days over a couple of weeks or allowing their therapist make medical diagnosis when they have no training to diagnose medical conditions. This lack of commitment and follow-through has been deeply disappointing. We expected a center dedicated to supporting autistic children to prioritize their needs, but Rush fall far short of that standard.

Dr. Camaj was very thorough in her evaluation and worked me diligently. But the best part was when she soon realized "something is wrong" when I wasn't making progress and suggested I go see another doctor for the hip. Good thing she said that... the first surgeon botched it bad and I had to have a total hip replacement. Bottom line, Dr. Camaj's professionalism is second to none, and I highly recommend their service.
