I read the reviews for this PT business & was shocked at the way Danielle treated me when, just…read morebefore initiating therapy, I inquired about the cost of therapy. Danielle refused to give me the price per hour or any other price information (like an estimate). She interrupted my questions & statements and seemed insulted by my inquiries. There was no price transparency from Danielle. Just before actual therapy, Danielle repeatedly and sternly stated I should call "billing" to learn the cost of therapy & if my insurance applied. This business' "billing" number is not identified on its business web site & I did not want to use her services before knowing the cost (just like any other reasonable person). Danielle's conduct was shocking because the Illinois Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act (815 ILCS 505/2), requires medical providers provide itemized statements for services upon request. It is advisable to get a cost statement and estimate from all healthcare providers BEFORE it is too late.

Originally, I came here after a motorcycle accident that resulted in a completely torn PCL. This made me unable to live not only the extremely active lifestyle I was used to (lifting, krav maga, and rock climbing), but to even walk without pain. Halfway through treating my knee, I was rear-ended by a drunk driver, resulting in whiplash that has taken almost an year to treat. Through it all, the Activa team helped me navigate my treatments and were there for me as emotional support as well. I never doubted my full recovery despite its length--Samir and his team ensured I followed up with an orthopedic doctor if I was extra anxious about something. I am extremely thankful that I chose Actinva as my PT clinic and always enjoying coming even if I talked trash to the team's face. Thanks for everything guys!!

After his initial assessment, the team agreed he needed 30+ hours of weekly ABA therapy to support his development. Unfortunately, Rush consistently failed to deliver. Despite the agreed-upon plan, our son never received more than 17 hours per week, even during summer sessions it was decreased even further down to just 13 hours. Early intervention is critical for autistic children to build essential skills in communication, cognition, and social development, as emphasized by every autism support group we've joined. Rush's inability to provide the recommended therapy hours has hindered our son's progress. Worse, Rush made recommendations that seemed contrary to his best interests, such as reducing his weekly hours after he missed a few days over a couple of weeks or allowing their therapist make medical diagnosis when they have no training to diagnose medical conditions. This lack of commitment and follow-through has been deeply disappointing. We expected a center dedicated to supporting autistic children to prioritize their needs, but Rush fall far short of that standard.

The Dialysis team was outstanding. From there things went downhill fast. The 1st day they were totally out of face cloths. We had to ask for the bedsheets to be changed. The night shift needs more staff on duty and better training on how to care for a patient suffering from chronic pain. No nurse should argue with loud voices about pain meds. Every night I had to drive to the facility to deal with a nurse issue. Little to no empathy or concern was provided after my sister waited for an hour for her pain meds one night. Not because it wasn't the right time, but when she finally answered the request button, the night nurse Merci stated, I was busy with a new patient intake. Do you really think someone in intense pain cares? The physical therapy or lack of I should say, was a joke. During the 1 planning meeting that was held with the team, I pushed back and stated it sounds like you are trying to discharge her and how could that be with the minimal physical therapy received? I was assured that was not the case. Guess what? The next day we received a non medical insurance coverage notice! After a 9 day stay, the discharge paperwork stated she was observed 1 day where she walked 50 feet with little assistance. At no time did my sister practice going up and down stairs, which was a mandatory requirement for her to return home. When appealing the discharge because my sister was so weak, the insurance company stated the facility never requested additional days, which is the standard practice when a patient clearly needs more rehabilitation. The final straw was upon discharge on 6/6 I discovered the discharge nurse helped my sister get dressed and sent her home with nothing on the bottom but blue jeans! No diaper! Think long and hard before sending a family member there.

Kristen from BDI is amazing. Our son just received his first quarter kindergarten report card, and…read morehe's "mastered being able to communicate in complete sentences" they say, and he's "progressing very well with his final /r/ and r and l blends". My son has come a very long way, and if you're a parent or caregiver, I highly recommend hiring Kristen from BDI. Since we only see Kristen, I cannot vouch for all employees at BDI, but if you're lucky enough to have her, you'll be amazed at her skills. Kristen is young, but we've seen three SLP's over the years, and she's the best at what she does! She's so great at zoom, and is a master with rolling with the punches and adapting to my son's special needs and his attention span... At first, my son wouldn't sit still for his zoom sessions. It was quite agitating and frankly depressing that it appeared as though zoom wouldn't work. But, Kristen happily twirled his attention back to her like she's been a mother for a dozen years. Now, he sits still, is happy and is having fun when he's being taught by her. But this wouldn't be possible if it weren't for Kristen thinking on her feet... "Coeur, would you like to participate in the session or run around the table 3 times?" Letting him run around for 1 minute did the trick, then he came back to the session excited. "Coeur, let's put your arms out and fly like an airplane." That would get him to stop talking or fidgeting and pay attention while having fun. Lots of stuff like that. Then, Kristen came up with the brilliant idea to offer him a reward if he completed the lessons. And, she'd even find the specific reward that I would give him (toy, etc), copy it from the Internet/Amazon, then show him the reward on the screen if his attention started to wander. Works like a charm. I don't think they teach all of her skills at BDI; they must be natural abilities from her maturity and intelligence. However, if indeed she did get trained with all her great ideas, then Kristen for sure has mastered those skills, and kudos to BDI. She seems like she's been doing this forever and has polished experience! Try to get her for your son or daughter or grandson or granddaughter. And don't be afraid of zoom sessions with Kristen, even if you're from out of town. She's young, vibrant, high IQ, and tons of experience. She's also a very happy person that has a perma-smile; she's so nice, and my son loves her! Thank you BDI for employing such an awesome person!
