CFD gave me a sense of community and acceptance. I made some amazing friends. And I became more fit in my late 30s than at any other time in my life... all of which gave me the confidence I desperately needed. We felt welcome and importantly, we felt safe to workout out. They had scales planned for people who weren't able to safely execute the workout as planned, which made me think the coaches were experienced and they cared deeply about the longevity of their members. The coach and the owner made a point to talk to us before the workout and they remembered our names and gave us affirmations as we worked through a 30 minute WOD. Also, the members were friendly and spoke with me throughout the evening. I am looking forward to the next time I can drop in, I had a really great time!

I tried to get a refund for the remaining 5 months and was told by Tyler the manager that I can't, so I ended up throwing away $1,000. They appear to offer additional barbell, gymnastics and power lifting classes with their program. According to their results board classes don't generally get above 8 people which seems like a nice ratio of coach to participant. Overall it seems like a pretty laid back atmosphere with participants having a wide range of skills but nothing too intimidating.

I've been a fat person my entire life. I've long been embarrassed to be noticed "trying". I feel the watchful eye of the "gym bro" judging my weak effort. Crossfit Excitement has helped me move beyond that. Don't get me wrong, I'm still not joining (another) gym, but CFE has become my standby BECAUSE of it's ability to assuage those fears. In the coaches and other members you're going to get a mix of people who are representative and real. You're going to find a place that's inviting and understanding. Yeah, Crossfit is difficult, and yeah it might be outside your comfort zone a bit (as it was, and continues to be, for me as well). But if you're looking to invest in yourself and challenge your idea of fitness, regardless of size and proficiency, you can truly do no better than Crossfit Excitement. p.s. if like me, you came to yelp trying to make a determination between the two Crossfit gym's in Woodland, I wouldn't waste your time with the other one.

The gym is unique in terms of the layout and structure, however, that does not compensate for the neglect that the owners have with the place. The fans are very high powered, but you can't really feel the air due to lack of cleaning and the amount of dust that has accumulated from the months or years of not cleaning them. Toilets are consistently breaking so there are times where there will be one stall available for a full gym and takes almost 2 weeks to fix at a time. paper towels in the bathroom have always been lacking as well. The roof is also caving in due to water leaks in the cardio room, which is very hazardous and the consistently have to move machines around to avoid someone getting seriously injured. Their yoga mats look like they have never been changed before and they are the point where they mostly torn and disgusting. Overall, for the price, you are paying for a gym that is neglected by owners who refused to keep up and do minimum work in order to have as much as possible I would highly not recommend this gym to anyone whatsoever. Don't believe me? Go see so for yourself.
