My son joined in the summer of 2025, right after graduating high school, to strength train before college tryouts. He could not say enough about it, and recommended it to us. I wondered how an 18 year old and his parents could both love the same gym, but tried it anyway. I had never really used barbells or done CrossFit when I joined, although I have always been generally active. Kirsten and Matt have created a special, welcoming, supportive community. All the coaches were amazing, and Lisa and Ashley in particular were incredibly helpful to me - their patience and knowledge inspired confidence that I could continue to improve, and showed me that I actually wanted to. As the year went on, I found myself looking forward to going to the gym - something I have never felt before. We are moving out of the area, and I never would have thought I would be sad to leave a gym, but I truly am. I hope to visit when we are back, and I am grateful for everything the CFD community has done for me this year.

I've been a fat person my entire life. I've long been embarrassed to be noticed "trying". I feel the watchful eye of the "gym bro" judging my weak effort. Crossfit Excitement has helped me move beyond that. Don't get me wrong, I'm still not joining (another) gym, but CFE has become my standby BECAUSE of it's ability to assuage those fears. In the coaches and other members you're going to get a mix of people who are representative and real. You're going to find a place that's inviting and understanding. Yeah, Crossfit is difficult, and yeah it might be outside your comfort zone a bit (as it was, and continues to be, for me as well). But if you're looking to invest in yourself and challenge your idea of fitness, regardless of size and proficiency, you can truly do no better than Crossfit Excitement. p.s. if like me, you came to yelp trying to make a determination between the two Crossfit gym's in Woodland, I wouldn't waste your time with the other one.

We felt welcome and importantly, we felt safe to workout out. They had scales planned for people who weren't able to safely execute the workout as planned, which made me think the coaches were experienced and they cared deeply about the longevity of their members. The coach and the owner made a point to talk to us before the workout and they remembered our names and gave us affirmations as we worked through a 30 minute WOD. Also, the members were friendly and spoke with me throughout the evening. I am looking forward to the next time I can drop in, I had a really great time!

Big time bummer Beware signing up longer than month to month as a newbie, you will not get your money back.

"Join us at the 5am class!" they said.. I responded, "WHAT?! That's the middle of the night!!!" After some contemplation, and no other convenient time, I started coming about 2-4 times per week.... and I LOVE IT! I go to sleep a little bit earlier at night, but start my day off with more energy and better attitude. The coaches, Torsten and Josh, are awesome! Inclusive atmosphere, all different levels of fitness, no pressure to perform harder than you're comfortable with -- but enough pressure to push your boundaries and encourage progress. I lost 18 lbs. in the first 2 months!! From 189lbs.- 171lbs.!! Ultimately significantly lowering my cholesterol. I do t even know who I am anymore!

I knew that all the research said that runners should be not only be cross training, but also weightlifting to prevent injury and support their running goals. Still, weightlifting was a whole new ball park and I was so frightened of injuring myself and not being able to do the cardio that I loved. Contrary to my reservations, joining ASAP and my journey into CrossFit has been anything but frightening. The coaches listen to your fitness goals and history, know your reservations, and they easily offer modifications when/if needed. Every coach leads you through a thorough warm up, models the movements, watches you practice the motions with them, provides feedback, and then transitions the class into actually starting the WOD. As a runner, working out with ASAP has only made me stronger and faster. I have PR'ed my 5K, 10K, and half marathon times, even placing top 3 at a few local races. (Not to mention one of which I was pushing my 2 year old in the jogging stroller!) I completed my first trail marathon and CIM this last year. I have always felt competent as an athlete when it comes to cardio, but I've never felt so strong and capable. I am so thankful for such an encouraging community of athletes from all walks of life, various ages, and athletic goals/backgrounds. CrossFit is such a humbling endeavor, but it is extremely motivating, as well. I constantly am inspired by the athletes around me. I love that ASAP prioritizes the goal of healthy living (i.e., to stay healthy for your kid, to be an active grandparent, etc.), instead of being motivated simply by physical gains and appearance. I love that ASAP offers a program with the flexibility for mamas to continue to strengthen our bodies even through a pregnancy. I stuck with ASAP's CrossFit program throughout my entire pregnancy and the coaches supported me to listen to my body, while providing modifications for any movement. Now I am 16 weeks postpartum and I am back in it, stronger than I thought I'd be. My ability to get back into running so quickly postpartum is also a testament to ASAP's program. Like many mamas, I am dealing with diastisis recti and my PT has encouraged me to continue ASAP's CrossFit program, as most movements allow me to continue to strengthen my body without exacerbating the problem. I highly recommend ASAP if you want to see improvement in your health and overall wellbeing.

If you are curious about CrossFit in general or just wanting to try something different from the mindless curls, presses and push-ups, if you are wondering what's the difference between working out by yourself vs. in a group/class where everyone can to work at their own levels and paces while cheering each other on with an kind and experienced coach guiding the group, you owe it to yourself to stop by and give EDH CrossFit a try.

Ryan Webb is super helpful - he knows his stuff and he helps with getting your form right (safety first!), providing nutrition tips. In less than an hour I get a better and more efficient workout than I'd been doing for years prior. No longer just focusing on things like how much I bench, I've found that CrossFit helps you become much more well-rounded in your strength and mobility. If you've never done things like deadlifts, kettlebell workouts, power cleans, or box jumps, don't worry. You learn the ropes and then go at whatever intensity level works best for you. It also makes you want to eat better (try to stay away from crackers/rice/pasta/bread) and incorporate more protein each day. I've already noticed a difference in how I look and feel, and am continually excited to check the next day's WOD (workout of the day) when it's posted to see what's coming next!
