The product was phenomenal. I was in and out quick (for both pickup and return), and the skis handled fine. The staff were all attentive and personable, well all except Megan. From the get go she was rude and short with me, I suspect because of my Native American features (Cherokee). I am unbelievably appalled and saddened by the lack of reverence, respect, and human decency exuded by that vile woman. It left a sour stain on my otherwise pleasant customer experience and weekend as a whole. If Megan still works there, I would strongly consider looking elsewhere to rent skis. read more

I came on a Saturday and Seven Springs had a sold out day. Getting full ski rentals was so quick and easy. Everyone was helpful and I was in and out in less than 20 minutes. Same goes for returns. I'll definitely be back! And only $37! read more

Absolute WORSE experience here. We arrived at 8pm on a Thursday night and through the window we instantly see the young, blonde employee mouth/say the F word. They were suppose to close at 11pm so I'm not sure why she was so upset about us arriving 3 hours prior to closing. We walked in and spoke with a young man. We asked if we had time to drive up into the mountain, drop off our luggage, & return this way we had space in the car for our ski equipment. The young man & an older gentleman (who walked out from the back room) stated that they'd be opened until 11pm. We proceeded with our plan and got back to Thrifty's by 10pm but it was shut down, locked up, & closed. We knocked on the door to try our luck. The same older gentleman came out and said that they were closed and that he could not help us. Even though he told us shortly before that he'd be opened until 11pm. Poor customer service from employees with bad attitudes who don't want to be there - I would not return or recommend. read more

The staff weren't wearing their masks properly, often taking them off and wearing them under their noses. The experience was very rushed and seemed not very thorough. I would give more stars, but the covid safety protocol seemed nonexistent. read more

We have rented skis and boots from them in years past and we always had a great experience. The staff is very knowledgeable and courteous. This year my 13-year-old son rented a snowboard. He hurt his wrist that day but didn't think it was too bad. When we returned the board he was convinced he wanted to be snowboarder now and he rented the board through their bring back program for the rest of the season. Well, his wrist continued to hurt and we got X-rays. His wrist was broken and he could not snowboard the rest of the season. We called Thrifty and spoke to Ellen the owner. She understood our situation and refunded the additional money he paid for the season. Since he was spending his own money, that meant a lot to him and to me. This is by far the easiest, cheapest, and most non-b.s. way to get a pair of skis to go down the mountains! You're gonna pass up about 4 or 5 ski rental places along the journey to seven springs but PLEASE go to this shop. The steps are simple and it took us about 10 minutes to get the forms filled out, her boots fitted, skis and poles issued and out the door. You'll first walk in, ask to rent and they tell you to fill out a paper which basically is a form that tells them who you are and what you want. Fill it out, takes a second. Then you go over and get your boots fitted, that's simple. After that you walk over to the desk and get your skis and poles. It's simple to find your pole length and ski length because they almost do it for you. They give you a quick lesson on how to lock and detach from the bindings and that's basically it. What I like about this place - the equipment is not cheap and worn and old. They have newer products (minus the boots, those get covered by your snow pants). It was $19 for the entire day, they charge you one time and that's it. After that go shred the slopes! They take a print of your bank card Incase anything happens but they do not deduct any money so you can pay with cash. Their only stipulation about the skis - return them by 10:00. That's it. I had an AWESOME experience using Thrifty Ski rental! We stopped here to rent our Skiis before going to a cabin we rented at Hidden Valley. The price was great and the staff was very helpful! Renting skiis can get hectic but this experience was quick and painless. And we just dropped them off on our way home- no problem! The store also had a great selection of snow gear - I should have bought the pair of snow pants that i saw in the store- they were a great price! read more

Every time that I rent from Thrifty Ski Rental the employees are amazing and very customer friendly, equipment is always new and up to date and well maintained. Prices are family friendly for rentals and the quality is superb. Owners are very interactive with there store and manage very well. The good: Very inexpensive. Convenient hours. Large inventory. The bad: Incompetent ski maintenance and fitting crew. I own a nice pair of Lange boots but I usually rent demo skis when I travel. I asked them to fit the rental skis to my boots. When I first clicked in I noticed a ~1cm gap between my boot heel and the rear binding. Trusting the ski tech, who was rude, I decided to ski with it anyway. I shortly found out that even with a DIN setting of 8 these skis simply fell off my boots with the slightest provocation. The skis were essentially unusable. And the 7 springs rental shop refused to adjust them for liability reasons. So I missed out on half my day of skiing due to the Thrifty tech's incompetence. Which leads me to my second point. The skis (and the rest of my party's rental boots) are absolute junk. They have lots of skis, but they're all the same bargain basement rental reject model. Based on how well they were waxed (not at all) I wouldn't be surprised if the garbage binding was completely out of spec. So even if the bindings were adjusted properly, a ski tech should know if and when a binding is trashed and it should go straight into the dumpster. I explained the binding problem when I returned the skis because I don't want them to continue renting out improperly adjusted equipment. It's a real safety hazard. I understand that they're catering to the bargain hunters, but the skis, boots, bindings, and even clothing at Thrifty are all complete junk. Don't waste your time or money. Most of the rental gear from Jumpin' Jacks or Seven Springs looks only slightly better, but you can be assured they'll fix it at the mountain and you won't waste your valuable lift ticket and ski day with unacceptable equipment. read more

When I 1st started skiing this was the place to go...great prices and good service...all that has changed! My son & his cousin do an annual New Years eve ski trip and he got a new snowboard for Christmas...the screws for his old bindings didn't quite fit the new board so I told him to call Thrifty to see if they had the correct screws...a young girl answers and simply said yep, we have them...he gets there this AM and of course no, they don't have them...so while he & a ski tech is looking at the board an old hag comes over and sez...'if you use his hardware we have to charge him $20'!! Nice service from a business we've visited countless times not just for rentals but to buy clothes a helmet & goggles from them as well! Luckily he was smart enough to grab his gear & leave, drove to Willis @ 7Springs and they have exactly what he needed and only charged him $10!! I understand a business has to make $$ but to try & take advantage of a 17yr old kid is disgusting to put it lightly...skip Thrifty and head to Willis folks!!! read more

From Florida and spent our weekend in PA to ski at Seven springs. Chose thrift because they seemed convienent and they had the best value for their prices on all ski/snowboard gear and accessories. The gear was solid and we had now working issues with it. Skiing went well, expect for a member of our group misplaced their skis. We returned to Thrifty halfway into our trip and they issued a new ski free of charge. On our last day of skiing, snow prevented us from arriving to Thrifty to return our rentals before close. Thrifty worked with us to ensure we could return our gear on that day and not be charged additionally. They even waited hours after closing for half our group (who got stuck on the roads) to return their gear without additional charges. Overall, the service/conscience was great. Definitely reccomend, because plans can change and Thrifty went above and beyond to make our situation much less stressful than it could be. read more

I rented 3 pair of skis this weekend. The process couldn't have been easier and the people couldn't have been nicer and more helpful. We saved a ton renting there and were able to return it the next day by 11AM to avoid paying another day's fee. This will be my go to place to rent. You literally pass it on the way to the resorts, so it can't get any easier. It saved us a ton of time and money! read more

Three years in a row they screwed something up with my skis and or boots. Each time they drove to Seven Springs to correct it, but it interferes with my whole day. Skiing is too expensive for them to screw it up for me. Not worth it, pay the extra money so it's right read more
