We will never come back. NOT in the near future. We found stuff sh we went to check out, I saw a few people leaving the store. But when we put our cart back and tried to leave, One employee RUSHED to the door at full speed, saying there is a very high chance they are forcing us to stay. They are letting everyone out except for us. One employee that was very nice tried to help us to get out of the store, I came up with an idea, that When another person leaves the store, I rush out. She always catches me on time. We needed police to get us out.e read more

The prices have really gone up in the last year. I used to be able to find a bit more variety of clothing, but lately it seems like a lot of the same things over and over again. Other than that the Staff are friendly and helpful read more

Well I must say that I enjoy thrift stores; I'm the type of person that will enjoy a walk around the whole store and I don't necessarily need to buy anything. But let me start by telling you that the atmosphere at this store is the best. I definitely like the people I meet there, to me is relaxing and it's a way to unwind after a hectic day. Most of the girls that work there are just wonderful, friendly, and I must say that type of attitude definitely makes your experience even better. but one person in particular is just the BEST!! And that's Elvira. Every time I walk in the store, I see her with a friendly smile, she definitely goes out of her way to make you feel welcome. I usually start at the furniture section and from there i go to the front store where you will find the clothing section, shoes, kitchen ware and a bunch of other goodies. I've always noticed that Elvira is such a great employee, always a happy go lucky type of girl, not once have I seen her upset or rude, she's always taking the time to answer people's questions, always cleaning and just a positive vibe at all times. Now days it's not easy to get an employee that is a hard worker, always friendly, and always willing to help us customers , it's frustrating when the price is not too clear, or if we need confirmation on the sale of the day, since they moved the color, that is on sale to the other side of the store. So I hope THRIFT GIANT management sees my review and gives her a big thank you! For being such a good worker. Now days you need to acknowledge when an employee is a valued person for your company. Because with this economy, prices rising up the sky, you definitely need that extra thank you to know they appreciate your hard work. So Elvira I wanted you and your company to know that we as customers, we appreciate your hard work, thank you for being so friendly, helpful and just a wonderful employee. Always find amazing things! The prices are great and the store is well organized. One of my favorite thrift shops to visit.

Let me start off by saying this IS a thrift store. Who are we kidding, it doesn't get any better than this. This has to be one of my favorite thrift stores. They have a heavy selection of vintage clothing. I hate thrift stores that are stocked with "newer" clothing that you can buy new at a regular store. My main reason for going to thrift stores is going to buy pieces I can't find anywhere else, & ofcourse the bucks saved! Irving thrift has a combo of the old & new. They also have a rather large collection of good books! The staff is a little young, but a lot of rude. But I really don't come here to be treated like royalty. I kind of just brush it off, roll my eyes & remind myself how much I just saved. *endless smile* read more

I have shopped at this store for years. I am posting this review based on an experience a few weeks ago. First, I find it difficult to communicate with the cashiers or managers because there is a language barrier. I do not speak spanish. I understand a little but not enough. So it is more than a little irritating that I can not communicate with the people who work at the store. I have noticed this at all the stores in the last few months. So that is one complaint. But the big one at this store is based on an item that I took the register that was marked at 99 cents. It was a small ceramic dog. The cashier said she could not sell me the item because it was not priced. Actually this was said in spanish and someone had to translate for me. My concern is that it was priced with no indication of a price being removed. So I accepted that it would not be sold to me and said that I wanted to take a picture of the item and discuss with the manager on the next business day and another cashier refused to let me take the picture. She took the item off the counter and put it in the bin. They all started talking and laughing and being really smug about the situation. I did not like that at all and will not be back. I tried to report to the main office but that is a joke. So as far as merchandise the home decor is better than the clothes. The prices just have gotten to be ridiculous. So you will get the best deals on the 50 percent off days. Communication is fine as long as you do not have a question or concern. I recommend the location on Harry Hines. read more

Today is May 25, 2020 arrived to thrift giant at 9:15 AM to purchase some shirts. When I arrived there's a huge line so I decided to wait I had my mask ready and I just waiting my turn. When I was finally able to enter the store I noticed two employees at the front of the store. They were not wearing masks or any type of protection. I brought it to their intention in a polite manner however they totally ignored me. I was able to find another employee and I did ask why are the two employees in the front of the store not wearing masks? They told me that they were management they were not required to wear masks. I found that very selfish and very dangerous. I did reach out to the mayor of Irving Texas. Maybe he can shed some light of this behavior. read more

Totally over rated by the other reviewers. It is very busy - crowded, tightly packed merchandise - mostly clothes. Not enough help! The bargains I did find weren't worth the 45 minute wait in line to get to the check out - during a weekday. Really - save you time. read more

Very nice selection, but the prices are way too high! Saw a scuffed up lamp for $5.99. Bought the same lamp brand new at Target yesterday for $7.99. Service is also horrible. Even when they aren't busy be prepared to stand in line for a while. While workers walk around & chat with one another instead of opening more registers. read more

Okay., so I went thrift store hopping this weekend and "Irving Thriift" was on my list. I never did find it though. In the same location (according to my GPS) was a place that said "Thrift Giant" so I went on in. Won't be going back, and here's why: 1) 5 out of the six employees I spoke to did NOT speak English. Very irritating. Seriously...even the store announcements over the speaker system were in Spanish. I know enough to understand that shoes were on sale but I shouldn't have to wrack my brain to translate. If it is a store that only serves hispanics, please put a sign outside to alert others. 2) Items are not well organized. Very hard to get through everything.. 3) no dressing rooms. You want something? You better hope you are a good judge of size. 4) employees pushing carts of merchandise were blocking aisles creating traffic jams. Had the over all feel of an over stuffed garage sale on the wrong side of the tracks. Not a good place at all. read more

Let me first begin by saying that Irving Thrift is owned by the same folks that own Thrift Giant loacated on Harry Hines. Irving Thrift is kind of their "B" store. This location is much smaller and has no dressing rooms HOWEVER they do have a nice selection of items. Like their big sister store you can sign up and get a VIP card at this location which will allow you to get 25% off of non sale items on Sunday's. Like their big sister location there is an excellent selection of jeans, skirts, blouses, shorts and dresses but what you will not find here is a good selection of shoes nor the other housing "accessory" items you find at Thrift Giant. Does this deter me from visiting? NO WAY! I drop by every couple of weeks to sift through the clothing and see if anything strikes my fancy. This is where i go for my "weekend" clothing. Jeans, shorts...cute t-shirts...that sort of thing. Totally worth a look. read more

thrift giant beltline rd irving was in the store bout 1pm on thurs june 11 2015 had a cart full of goodies, couple items were missing tags the sales girl went out find the manager to get a price for me, another lady as well needed help with a price, her cart was also full the little girl comes from the back and said the manager was busy and to come back in about an hour! r u kidding me????? no one could give us a price so we can buy from your store!!!!!! the manager should be fired for costing the owner sales and I now see why every time I go in there the sales people are all new never seen the same person twice and mind you the store has only been open a couple months. this store needs to get it together and if a customer needs a price then someone should be able to help us..... needless to say I left the cart full and walked out!!!!!!!! read more
