This is by far my favorite thrift store and trust me I've been to quite a lot of my day. Places like habitat of humanity or Goodwill have been inflating their prices to the point it's unrecognizable for thrift stores. But thrift 2 gift is definitely one that still keeping the true spirit of Thrifting alive. They have an amazing assortment of things from closed to HomeGoods to books and records and everything is impressively organized, and spaced out. It's not like a Goodwill where it's sort of like a free-for-all even their knickknacks in home decor is sorted very well. I found some amazing pajamas that originally retail for $130 for only $2! I always find amazing pieces there. My niece even found her prom dress there and it was on sale for $12 and it was absolutely gorgeous. Fit her like a glove and looked brand new. They even have a nice selection of wedding dresses and upscale outfits, even cultural traditional wear, which I've never really seen in thrift stores before. read more

Thrift 2 Gift is a large and well-organized thrift store with wide selection. Their parking situation is confusing. They have two lots, and the one in front of the store is very tight. Would recommend parking at the side/back for ease of access. There is a dressing room, and things are generally organized by size and type. Prices were pretty reasonable and most items were priced by type, with some nicer items priced individually. Service was friendly and they definitely work to keep everything neat. I did not buy anything, but had a good time rifling through everything on sale. read more

After several years, I continue to shop regularly at this well organized thrift store. The employees are always kind and helpful. I have never had a bad experience here and have been here MANY times. There are clothes which are expertly arranged, lots of baby stuff, lots of books, beautiful furniture, jewelry, purses, shoes,hats, even seasonal decor. There is parking in the front and along the side as well, so always easy to park. I will continue to come here, as the prices are better than most shops and the selection is always good. read more

This shop is very clean, huge and has crazy good prices. However, the inventory (from fashion to furniture) is really dated (but not vintage). Alas, I left empty handed. Also, the front parking lot is very small and really tight. There's a few spots on the side of the building and recommend parking there, if you can. read more

I was in town visiting my granddaughters and came across this awesome thrift shop. It's pretty big and has a nice selection of items. I happened upon a cool mist humidifier for $8.99! It works perfectly. Everyone was super helpful and friendly. I loved the music that they played!! I definitely will be back in when I get to the area. read more

I've been meaning to stop by Thrift 2 Gift as it's on my route home from work. It looks small outside, but it's massive on the inside. There are so many great finds. I came to raid the book section. I purchased a 90-day devotional book by Rebecca St. James (Bestselling Author) and a Light & Healthy Cookbook by Good Housekeeping. I don't know why I keep coming back to this store expecting it to be different. Usually you go to a thrift store and expect thrift store prices, right? A lot of the prices for things are similar to buying something brand new at TJ Maxx. They have standard flat prices for categories such as dresses, kids, blouses, etc. Even then I'll find something in the "standard pricing" that is tagged for double the amount. Also their "nice" items are absurdly priced. There was a faux fur shawl, 100% polyester for $20... you can find that at TJ Maxx brand new. The home decor and art aren't any better. There was a wooden shelf for $60, a lamp for $30, a lot of the "nice" things were over $15. They also had a leather vest for $45, I got one for $15 at cause for paws. You might as well just go to a retail store and buy something new. Thrift stores are meant to be lower priced since they're used goods. The employees are nice but the pricing of the store is ridiculous. They're not a consignment shop, they're a thrift store who gets everything for free. read more

If you are going to come here expecting to find the usual .99 cent to $4 shirts/pants.. don't bother. Everything is marked up to resell value, to in quote from the owner, "deter resellers". First of all its advertised as a non profit thrift store. Its no ones business to what anyone will do with clothes/items after they are purchased. People also come to thrift stores to find the cheaper alternative to ebay etc. Everything is extremely over priced, ie: a used worn pair of converse low tops for $25. All the clothes have marker drawn on the backs (prices), as well as tagged. Music is loud and looks like alot of junk thats been sitting for a while. 1 star for atleast having variety and signs telling you where what is. read more

There are some finds to be found here for sure, but this is one of the most overpriced thrift stores I've been at. I believe a woman put back the microwave I helped her load into her cart but $39 for a used AND donated microwave is ridiculous. The men's selection is definitely better than the women's. I just can't believe how pricey thrift stores have gotten, I understand cost of business and overhead but when a jacket is almost the same price as new- there's an issue. read more

My friend is visiting and he is consumed with bargain type shopping. We have been to countless Goodwill's in a 50 mile grid and we stumbled upon T2G right in my backyard! Located 1/4 mile east of the Maynard rd-Chatham st intersection on the right. This place is nirvana compared to their competition. Extremely well organized with a good variety including: Furniture, Art, Housewares, Clothing, Appliances, Shoes, Sporting goods et al. We met the owner who explained their mission and driving force. Suffice it to say, they are legitimately a Non profit, and their cause is palpable. Prices are very fair and it defintely is a breath of fresh air. read more

Parking lot is small. Wide selection of items. Some things are overpriced. Smelled fine. CD selection was not that good & anything worth picking up didn't have the CD in it. Prices for books, tapes, and CDs were fair. Many clothes. Christmas trees were priced higher than those new from the store & they were in bad condition. I found some unique children's books in great shape and a few baskets for charity auction gift baskets. While some things in the store are noticeably worn or damaged, with some hunting , good deals can be found. Staff were friendly and helpful. This thrift store appears to be for a very good charitable cause. So check it out, definitely worth stopping in to locate a bargain. read more

Great selection! Plus size rack has nice picking the weekday I arrived. Out of all the thrift shops I visited in the same day, this one had the best plus size selection. Staff was great. They occupy the old furniture building, nowells I believe it was called. I really liked how the lady's pants were on its side on the hanger to make it easier to see size labels. The Review that mentions the outside being 'sketchy' because it was boarded up did not know a 'Vagrant' decided to destroy the windows one night maliciously ..The store boarded up the windows until they could be repaired . The Clothing prices ARE much better than Goodwill's .At this time : Blouses $1.89 Dresses $3.99 But unlike Goodwill new items or antique items can be priced higher than you would pay on E-bay . Of course it's a charity so that is their prerogative......I always laugh when I hear Re-Sellers huff and puff about those prices . There are MANY Resellers in this area who make money from hitting up all the Thrift stores benefitting from Grandparents moving here and downsizing . I am glad Thrift To Gift tries to maximize their profits with antiques etc.If nothing else they are not skimming the " good stuff " and selling it at the Flea Market for personal gain ... I will take a moment here to warn people about some " Charity " thrift stores just being part of what one person once called the "Flea Market Mafia " .... Thrift to Gift is upfront about who benefits ...I could go on but I would rec.you look into who really benefits from your donations . This was my first visit here, and I was on a specific mission. I was looking for clothes for my child. On first look it has a pleasing set up, and looks like they have a nice variety. When I made my way back to the kids area I was pleased to see the clothes were reasonably priced. The biggest drawback for me is that despite the clothes being designated by size and gender, they were still very mixed up. I was looking for 3T boys and I found size 6, I found girls.. it was a disappointment. read more

They do separate the name brand items and charge more for them (in terms of jeans and jackets) as well as items with tags. I, as someone who isn't nor will ever be Christian, find the gospel/praise music blasting in the background off-putting. Lots of women and men's clothing options here and the home goods generally are in good condition as well. I've purchased two antique cast iron pieces here (a Wagnerware bread stick pan and a Griswold muffin pan) that I've restored and that function beautifully. Went in looking for any jewelry finds since I've found a few things before. Sterling silver pieces are now priced ridiculously high. I asked an associate what's going on and she stated that jewelry is now being priced by a jewelry "expert" who has his own shop downtown Cary. She stated he still priced the items less than he would in his shop. Are you nuts? 1- These pieces are donated, 2- Your clientele is different and probably have different budgets than those that would go to his shop. 3- This is not a boutique or even a consignment store where a consignor gets a cut. I was wondering why I've been seeing the same pieces in the case for months and months, I just never looked as those prices. Pricing cant even be explained by saying the money's going to a worthy cause. Almost all local thrift stores funds go to a worthy cause so who are trying to fool. Thrift 'n Gift is great! I'm an interior decorator, and I've found some wonderful and unique home decor treasures there. One example was an elegant botanical print which was framed and double matted; I picked it up for about $16.50 to help some friends stage their home for sale. There is an impressive book section, organized by category, with a special cart for new arrivals. The staff is very warm and friendly. Another thing that I love about this store is that the clothing is organized by size--rare to find in thrift stores. One final thing I'll mention--in case it's helpful for others to know--is that I have seen more baby equipment there than I have seen in other thrift stores. read more

When I first visited I was in search of a robe. I found one nicely packaged with slippers but without a size. Instead of tearing in to it, I politely asked the woman at the desk if she could please open it so I can find out the size. If it was the size I needed, I would purchase it. The woman got rude and said no even when I asked her for the manager. I left there pissed and almost didn't return. After a few weeks I went back in search of something else and have continued to return because that woman is no longer there. Instead I am greeted by beautiful Sharon and George (whose one of the owners). Most of the time I find what I'm looking for. The prices are decent and sometimes a little over priced for some things but it's all going to a good cause. I also like how there's always something new. Also if you like their Facebook page and/or sign up for their newsletter, you get these spontaneous coupons! When they have sales their usually pretty awesome! It's a neat place both in cleanliness and to find treasures. I definitely recommend this place! You go enough times and they'll know you by name . The parking lot was full as we pulled up and people just kept coming and going. This large thrift shop is perfect for some cheap items and good steals. They have a price menu above the cash register with set prices like $2.99 for shoes, 1.99 for shirts, and more! They sell everything: clothing, shoes, furniture, purses, office supplies, kid clothes, toys, light fixtures, etc. These are probably the cheapest prices I've ever seen- if you look really hard you might find you a steal. I rarely look at clothes in any thrift shop, so I'm usually done here in 5-10 minutes. Furniture is higher quality than at other thrift shops. Books are mostly old paperbacks and not what I want - I've probably bought 200 books at Dorcas in past 4 years. Household goods are garage sale quality. Overall as any thrift store when you first walk in it has a very weird smell but you get over it pretty quickly. I would say the women's clothing section was very bare but neatly organized. There was definitely more clothing items in the men's section but it was more formal wear such as, collared t-shirts and such. Very few brand name pieces but slightly overpriced for a thrift store.
