I saw a sign that said Thrift next to a cigar lounge as I was driving by this shopping plaza, and simply had to take a detour to check it out. I am glad I did, as Cat Angels Thrift Store is the perfect local thrift spot. I am forever looking for lowkey, under the radar-type thrift shops, and this one fits the bill. The space is quite small and well-organized. There are racks of clothing along the walls and a shoe cubby. I really appreciate how neat everything was, and how the clothing was reliably sorted by size. It made the browsing experience really enjoyable. There were lots of unique pieces and good materials. I ended up snagging a pair of Sam Edelman boots for under $20, and they were in great condition. There is a stamp card available as well! You get a stamp for each shopping trip over $20. Once you fill the card, you get $$ off your next purchase (I forget the amount off the top of my head). I am glad that money goes towards a no-kill cat shelter, and will definitely shop/donate here going forward. read more

I really hope this store continues thriving, for the sake of the cats! Cos they really do some good work there regarding cat adoptions. About the store itself, it was a disappointment, since the last time I had visited it. The last time I was there, it was clean, items were reasonably priced and there was no bad smell in the store. Latest visit, I got a persistent whiff of cigarette smoke odor, that hung around all the things too. Inventory is good but space is limited. Sales people are friendly. Just hope the cleanliness is maintained and prices are kept at a logical number. read more

This used to be a nice little thrift shop but something has changed and they are either under new management or new owners. It too bad as the women who used to work/run this store were so pleasant and the prices were reasonable. Now maybe you get a quick hello if the girl behind the counter can bother looking up from the computer. The store is usually a mess and the pricing has gone a little nutty. If you want to get eBay pricing and use print outs to show what dealers are asking on eBay then just put in the work and sell your goods on eBay. You don't make any money for your charity if items just sit there and pile up because your prices are crazy. read more

I had high hopes coming here, given it has a 4 star rating; however, I should have heeded the most recent reviews regarding this place, and chosen another thrift store to check out during my short time in town. My first impression was made outside the door, where there was a sign that stated they are not taking donations currently. (That's interesting...they must be full.) Second impression slapped me in the face as soon as I took one step inside. There was an OVERPOWERING smell of cigarette smoke. Not like the sometimes danky smell of thrifted items, but like people were allowed to smoke whenever, and frequently, inside the store. It was AWFUL...like instant headache/slightly nauseous awful. Anyway, I am a thriftaholic, so I trudged on... Pricing here is....ridiculous....for a "thrift" store. Several times I found myself thinking they should rename it an "antique" store, or something, so it would help justify the prices they're asking, but even that wouldn't get them there. I agree with the other reviewer, who says, if you wanna get eBay pricing (for items that were donated to you!), then you should put the work in, and sell your goods there. I mean, there IS someone out there that will pay $225 for a set of 4 solid-color Pyrex mixing bowls, but I'm 99.99% sure it's not gonna be the random thrifter, who happens in to shop your store. Maybe I'm wrong. Methinks the reason this shop is so full and unable to accept more donations, is because their sales are slow due to overpricing. Honestly, if you want to make $$ for your charity, make the prices reasonable (you don't have to get rid of items for a steal - just make your prices *reasonable*, and they'll go.) With all that said, I did find two cute items, that came to a total of $2.14. I gave the cashier a $20, which was then met with a little grumble. I told the lady I had change in my car (assuming she might have had a coin shortage), and went to grab $.20 to help out. When I walked back in, and gave her my $20.20, she let out a exasperated "no!" I was done, and slightly humored, at the ridiculousness of it all at that point, so I let her cash me out, so I could get on my way. As I'm walking out, I hear her grumbling something about "...not change". Good grief. I will never shop here again. Heed the other, recent, 1star reviews. Sounds like this place was great at one point, but is no longer. So sad. read more

Lovely store and friendly staff. It's a small place, but there were some fantastic finds that I happened to find during my visit. I purchased some clothing, a framed print, and glassware. I saw a "Thrift" sign up near my local Food Lion and decided to stop by. I had thought that section of the strip mall was just part of the cat hospital, but apparently the thrift store is a separate store entirely, not associated with the cat hospital. I stopped in right before 6pm so I didn't have much time to shop, but I did ask how long they've been around in this spot. Apparently they've been here over a year, but just got the "Thrift" sign recently. Good investment, I never would have noticed it otherwise! Anyhow it seems like a cute little store, with a lot of different clothes, collectables, movies, games, kids stuff and home stuff. I'll have to stop by again on Saturday to do a full examination. All the money goes towards the Cat Angels Pet Adoptions local non-profit organization, which is more reason for me to spend money here. read more

Very small. The store is very well-organized and the items are in good condition. The prices are very good! All shirts, whether Michael Kors or Target, are $3.50. When I stopped in all winter coats were half off, making one really cute one from a Kohls brand $8 marked down to $4! However, I live in Durham so this is a bit of a drive for me. I'd probably only stop back in if I was in the neighborhood for something else. read more

So disappointed. This was my favorite thrift. Now turned into another Vintage/Antique plus thrift items. Using EBay selling price to justify outrageous pricing. They should be using EBay SOLD pricing, as dealers on eBay can ask any selling price. They should then ask half of that sold price as it is supposed to be a fundraising thrift store selling donated items. Popular toys are now separated out as " collectibles". None were new in box. They used to have fair pricing for all items and good turnover. I won't be back. I love to help animals, but unless this changes, I will take my donations elsewhere. read more

I'd rather support a small local thrift shop than a big chain like Goodwill! This one benefits a volunteer-run no-kill cat shelter, so I was especially happy to shop there. It is definitely a smaller space than most other thrift stores, and the selection of items suffers from it. The items that are offered are very well organized and clean. The clothing is accurately sorted by size, men's vs women's, and type! The prices are very low ($3.50 for pants and shirts, $0.50-$2.00 for lots of houseware). The lady who rang me up was very nice, but became rather frustrated when she had some trouble using Square (the smartphone app for credit cards) and wouldn't let me help her, which unfortunately ended my otherwise positive experience there a little worse than I'd hoped. read more

The 2 people working in the store were complaining about volunteers, they were swearing, they complained about customers that complained they were not open when they got there, they said they hung up on the customer and would "tear them a new $&@hole if they came in". Dropped the "f" word several times. Will never go back. Person who checked us out didn't get out of her chair, rolled over and rang me out. read more

I had a day off from work and decided to go check out some of the local thrift stores in my area. I found this little gem while searching on Yelp. I've driven past this little spot many times and didn't even realize it was there. This shop is on the smaller side but the set up inside is nice. It feels more like a little boutique than that of a thrift store. Everything is very well organized. The prices are very reasonable. I purchased a few movies and books. I didn't look through the clothing but did see a few very cute children's outfits on display. I will be going back soon! read more

What a lovely, unexpected find! Tucked into a corner of a shopping center is Cat Angels Thrift. Although they are low on square footage, they are big on variety. They appear to receive very nice donations and the best thing is that they price things at an affordable price (Thank you Cat Angels!). The ladies who work in here are so nice and friendly, it makes you want to keep coming back to see what's new! I like thrift stores. When in Cary, I've stopped at this one as it's close to my dentist office. This was my last visit though. I've noticed several times how the owner (?) treats customers present or not. She complains about them, what they won't buy, how they look, how their "bratty" kids behave, how awful such and such is....gossip continuously the whole time I'm there. I noticed it before and it bothered me, but for some reason it just really struck me today. The owner was also telling her employee to go ahead and take an item from the store because she wanted it. This is a DONATION run store. I don't like how they operate and will never be going back there again. read more

I love this tiny little thrift store! I've only been a few times, but everytime, I've spent less than $25, and gotten SO much stuff!! And the best part? The proceeds go to cat adoptions (hence the name, Cat Angels). The selection of adult clothing is dated and minimal, so I usual don't spend my money there. Actually, all of the selections are fairly minimal since it's a small thrift shop, but there are some really good finds if you have a little time to spend looking and the prices are amazing!! I've found some really cute clothes for my 7 year old daughter for dirt cheap prices (a cute "Justice" shirt for a $1, a nice winter coat from Target for $3). And, I've also found a lot of games, books, DVD's, and CD's from a quarter for $5. They have a lot of small houseware items too (glasses, salt and pepper shakers, etc) for really cheap prices as well. I just wish they had a larger space and could stock even more merchandise- maybe even some furniture! read more

Awesome little shop with carefully curated times instead of piles of overwhelming stuff. Prices are dirt cheap, and you can find the occasional high end designer item. Lots of vintage kitchen gear, hand bags, costume jewelry, and a great selection of books and videos that they are practically giving away. Great staff, and everything is clean and organized. Probably the Triangle's best second hand shop other than Adore next to La Farm, also on Cary Parkway. read more
