I visited threes brewery on a Thursday night with my brother. I was a tourist and he was a local. The food (rotating local restaurant supplied) was very good. The beer was delicious (although I like saisons and most Threes drafts were saisons for some reason). The atmosphere was excellent. And the whole package was really expensive. I was happy with the cost benefit and was happy to go there as an out of towner. Highly recommended. read more

I cannot recommend hosting a private event at Threes highly enough. We held the second day of our wedding festivities in the backyard space and it couldn't have been more ideal. We had the space from 1-6pm for roughly 80 people -- complete with the full pig roast, open bar, etc. The staff is incredible. Alyssa and Gretchen were so easy to work with, both extremely friendly and accommodating. The staff day-of was also amazing. The bartender made stellar drinks all afternoon and the food staff killed it. The food was to die for - roast pork is hard to beat, but the brussels sprouts can't be missed. We wouldn't change a single thing about our experience. I would recommend hosting a bbq style event here any time, to anyone. I wish we could do it every weekend! read more

The beers are great here, but I hate that you can't really predict when it's going to be crowded. Any weekend afternoon might be insanely packed or with plenty of open spaces. I love that you can get food here, but a few times the kitchen has been closed which is a bummer if you came prepared to eat. Their beers are quite good, same goes for the food. I'll never return! Went late this afternoon (Sunday) with a few friends and it was so loud that I left with a sore throat! Hard to believe that a single person would've missed the music had it not been quite so loud. And the DJ outside was SO ASTONISHINGLY LOUD at 8 PM that I felt sorry for the people who live right next door. As we were walking to the subway we could hear the music 3 blocks away! So much for being a good neighbor... So, to reiterate: really solid beers, a beautiful brewery operation on site, delicious food, total club atmosphere. Why? No idea. Beer was great. I tried a couple, and was very impressed. Go here for the beer! Food was a little blah. It was basic and boring. Maybe others would use different words than that, but it looked like food I make when I don't have time to actually cook. Place looks and feels amazing. I liked the way it was constructed. They played good music. I liked it a lot. The crowd there (at least that day) was ultra hipster. It was just a little over the top hipster. I hope there is more diversity in the crowd next time I go. But even the crowd wasn't a big deal. I had fun with my friends and enjoyed my drinks. I'm glad I'm the only one at my friend's table who didn't order food. But I did order the best beers. read more

Threes needs to get rid of The Meat Hook asap. Threes brewery/bar is fine but their food servicer is awful. First, they automatically charge you 18% gratuity, despite the fact that you walk up to the counter to place your order, they don't bring you drinks or water, and you get condiments, napkins and utensils yourself. All they do is bring you your food, i.e. your server spends about 30 seconds on you. As gratuity is based on the quality of service, it should be assessed after the service is rendered, not before. Second, if one of your specialties is burgers, you should be able to cook them medium. The only two choices were medium rare or medium well. WTF?!? Last and worst, their $5 pretzel was a disgrace. It was hard throughout and about a third the size of your typical bar pretzel. Twisting dough and sprinkling salt on it is not hard or expensive. The size and quality of their pretzel is offensive. Worst brunch I've had in BK in awhile. The bar is Threes' only redeeming quality, avoid the Meat Hook. read more

Threes is a great bar with awesome food, and an excellent spot for large events. We held a 70 person party using the Tiny Montgomery space, and it couldn't have gone better. The space itself is great, very modular so you can customize however you see fit, the staff was wonderful to work with, very responsive and helpful, and the food and beers were delicious. We did the food and drink packages and both were great. With the drink package, you get a private bar with almost all the beers on tap, which was big for me as one of my favorite thing about Threes is their beer selection. The food package was worth every penny, and I'd *highly* recommend the chicken sandwiches and deviled eggs. I would definitely host another event there. read more

The best brewery in Brooklyn! The space is amazing with so much to offer including an outside garden. I'm obssesed with the fact that they have a rotating kitchen featuring a different delicious Brooklyn restaurant every month. Roberta's pizza has been in the kitchen mult times as well! Stopped by on my way to the Barclays Center. There was a wedding in the tasting room, so no access. I was directed to the upper level where only 5oz. servings were available. The barkeep was polite and offered 2 tastings. First their saison, then their pilsner. Both beers were unpleasant tasting, and neither tasted like their supposed styles. Came here last Saturday with a few of my colleagues. We had just got done drinking at another place nearby so we were pretty hyped up. That being said I was disappointed with the atmosphere at Threes. I felt like I was stepping into a legit lounge/restaurant. The vibe was very "sit down " and small groups of people in very intimate conversations. So now that I think of it overall if I had to describe this place in one word(at least on the night I was there) would be initiate. Intimacy is not a bad thing but it's just wasn't what we were looking for that night. Dim lights and loud music is something I also remember. Some other reviews mention that the place is overpriced. I had a Rosè which I believe what $8. I'm not much of a Rosè drink but that seemed somewhat reasonable. I'd definitely check this place out again though with my boyfriend. I'd also like to come during the summer time so we could enjoy the outdoor space and food. read more

The beer is great, but the service at the meat hook, not so much. We ordered the hot chicken sandwich (which was good) and the aged beef burger. The burger was literally raw and sticky in the middle so we asked for it to be cooked a little longer. The cashier girl who was working, pretty much refused saying that's how they cook it and I would have to get something else. She couldve said this when I ordered it, but didn't. There was also no indication on the menu. Mind you, the other person we were sitting with ordered the same burger, ibut hers was cooked medium/rare not cool and sticky like mine. It was awful. They gave me the regular burger, 1 patty (eventhough I paid extra for the aged beef with the double patty). For starters, if you're not going to allow people to specify a temperature for their burger, at least make it clear from the beginning that you only cook it rare (or in my case, raw). Total rip off and definitely not worth it considering the attitude you get if youre not happy with your order. $40 for two sandwiches and a salad, and you can't even ask for your burger to be cooked the way you want it. read more

This is the BEST spot to host a party. Threes Brewing's cafe also functions as a private event space. I had my 30th birthday party here on NYE and Gretchen and her team were incredibly easy to work with, professional, and so nice! Highly, highly recommend. The space has a private bar, private bathrooms, its own sound system, and it fit 50 people very comfortably - there was enough room for people to sit and stand. The food was delicious - we went with the tiny bites, which were not so tiny. There was more than enough food for everyone. But ultimately, the best part was the staff; everyone was friendly, accommodating, and great to work with. Thank you Threes! read more

Outstanding craft beers being brewed at Threes. Sampled 4 of their brews and all were outstanding. Former Greenport Harbor brewer Greg Doroski clearly knows his craft well. Let me start saying that this place is an awesome hangout just as it is! Great food, great beer and the vibes are all amazing. But it doesn't stop here. We decided to host our wedding at the yard because we fell in love with the space. And it was the best thing we could have done. Since the beginning with all the preparations and decisions, Alyssa was the best, making everything so easy and straightforward for us that the reception was the thing that I had to worry the least. Then, even though they warned us that the weather could change we still did not put up tents because we wanted the place as we liked when we first came to the brewery. So we asked if we could move the wedding inside in case of rain. But let me tell you! They went above and beyond. They set the space up outside because they believed in our vision and as soon as we got there we were received with a summer shower. The employees immediately transferred the wedding inside and after the rain passed they organized the wedding outside again for us to enjoy the yard. It was AMAZING! I couldn't be happier. My reception was perfect! Everyone loved it, and Alyssa and her team was fantastic conducting everything and making sure everyone was good. Thank you so much guys! It was perfect!!! read more

Came here on a Friday night with a decent sized group of people. It was pretty empty at the time we arrived, but then again we were there the day after Christmas and probably a lot of people were still out of town. I did not mind the lack of a crowd, because it was nice to relax and enjoy some good conversation. While we were sitting at the bar sampling their large varieties of beers, we discovered that this a relatively new addition to the neighborhood. From the outside it looks unassuming and you can easily pass it if your driving around trying to find it, but once you step inside it has a really cool feel to it. It's pretty minimalistic in its decorations and what not, and I would consider it a trendier bar in the area. Inside the bar itself you can see the area where they brew their own beer and the large vats where the beer is made is pretty impressive. It is priced well... nothing too crazy. If you are looking to try out a new place that has a menu filled with beers you have probably never even heard of, this is DEFINITELY the place to go to. read more

We had my company's summer outing at Threes Brewing. I worked with Alyssa, the events coordinator, to plan the event and she went above- and- beyond making sure all the details for our party were just right and we got everything we needed. Rachel, our server, did a phenomenal job serving us! She was very friendly, attentive, and extremely helpful to our group. The patio section where we held our semi-private event was beautifully decorated and fit our party of 40 comfortably. The food and drinks were delicious and the environment was just right for our fun-loving group. Sat outside, which is a beautiful space and surprisingly easy to get seats on a lovely summer Friday evening. Drank their Arboretum pale ale, which is a good beer. The restaurant on rotation was Buttermilk Channel. Had the fried chicken, which was great (and though I haven't tried to original, I have to note half the price here for a ton of food). Came with hot sauce and honey which paired great, and these fluffy fried dough beignets. Also tried the jambalaya croquettes which are really good. Love the idea of different restaurants rotating through, which will give me a reason to keep coming back to try new things. read more

Friday night busy, to the point there's little service when seated. Beer is great hence the 2 stars. Food was a major letdown. Missus had the polish sausage, it was HALF a sausage in a massive bun. The worst thing ever. Sausage cut in half down the middle! As if nobody would notice. $13 - bargain. My chicken came with soggy 'Kim chi' that was warm - and soggy... and bland, do the Koreans eat it like this? They've probably been eating Kim chi for thousands of years, did they ever say 'oh this will be delicious warm, bland and mushy? I was always an advocate for chefs salting things, they know what they're doing... Obviously not, this isn't a unique problem, but everything was way salty to the point of being a mistake. Leave the salt to the patrons. And why no napkins with the food?Good bar but not a restaurant. read more

This place is awesome-- great beer, excellent coffee, phenomenal food from a rotating list of local restaurants, amazing outdoor space, and convenient for groups. Love this place so much. I'm not much for huge crowds, so I avoid it on weekend nights. If that is your style then go, it's lively. I prefer going during the day to sit and read while sipping a few awesome beers. Beautiful interior and garden. The food offerings rotate so it's hit or miss. Wasn't too thrilled with The Meat Hook. Too pricey for a generic black bean veggie burger when you then have to order the fries separately. I've liked all the other food residencies though. But the beers are really the draw! read more
