If I could give a trillion negative stars I would. They abuse these horses, their fur is matted, their hooves are broken, and they whip the horses way more than necessary in order to make your rides go faster to make more money. I would rather just drive in a car and see the lights than endure seeing how they treated these animals. Also one of the people left their dog in their car the entire shift (6 hours) and when we brought it to the attention of the other staff they said there is no problem leaving a dog in the car because it wasn't hot.. If you want to contribute to animal abuse for 10 minutes of "fun" then by all means go ahead and pay this company. read more

Update: After 67 days this vendor finally issued a permanent credit after numerous emails and disputing the credit card charge. They scrub their Facebook profile of any reviews they deem not flattering so take their Facebook profile with a few handfuls of salt. This business would probably operate more honestly if they utilized an escrow service instead of taking payment directly from the consumer. In good faith cannot upgrade their star rating because no consumer should have these issues ever. **************************** Would absolutely not recommend this service. Cannot attest to the quality of the ride but can attest to the fact they will cancel the ride on you and screw you for hundreds of dollars. We got screwed out of nearly $700.00. This is part of their "scam". Let you book and cancel on you and keep your money!!! As long as this is up the issue is ongoing. read more

I've gone to the carriage rides for the last three years. It is a lot of fun for our family. We want to see this continue, but City of Dallas wants to ban the Carriages across the entire city. read more

best carriage ride service in dallas for Christmas time. wife and I take it every year...annual tradition for years!

Customer service is terrible and very rude. They absolutely do not want to help you or work with you at all. Save your money and just drive through at your own pace. read more

12/30/23 - John, you are replying to a review I posted for services not rendered over four years ago, and now calling into question that I had a reservation? I emailed your company on 11/30/18. Further gaslighting on the part of this company. read more

Great experience, the entire Threejays team went above and beyond making our evening a special one!

I would not book with his company unless you want to be cancelled on last minute!! We got a call telling us that it was cancelled due to a driver but the horses were ok, but we needed to rebook. When we called to rebook they offered us a 11pm after Christmas. We have had these reservations made since the beginning of November and had already bought snacks and drinks for our ride and had people come into town. Highly unacceptable and disappointed. read more

We had such high hopes for the charming experience the Threejays website depicts. Not sure if they were having an off night or what but after waiting nearly 20 minutes beyond our scheduled departure time and watching beautiful carriage after carriage roll away, we cringed when our ride arrived. It was a misty night, so they had pulled the bonnet up, which wouldn't have been a problem, but on this particular carriage, it came down so low on the sides, it obstructed the view above anything higher than the sidewalk. I asked if there was any way we could wait for the next carriage, after all, we had just see 3 picturesque carriages leave... surely there would be another one in just a few moments. They refused. There was this awkward moment where they just wanted us to get on and be agreeable. No attempt to correct the situation, just "this is what you get stuck with after paying $250... duped". No offer for blankets, so we asked and they were provided. I felt like I was on a bad Groupon version only I paid full price. The ride was pleasant enough. I got a bit tired of lowering my chin to my knees to see some of the beautiful homes on the tour, but what really unsettled us were the hecklers that rode up next to the carriage and made comments. Several had their windows rolled down and made comments about the horses. This was actually really quite sad because they were miniature horses and I'm not sure they should have been used to pull a carriage with 4 people in this way. The driver was safe and polite and for that we tipped him but for all of the beautiful images and the price point, I just expected a better product and better customer service. read more

We had a great time on this carriage ride and highly recommend it to anyone who wants a fun experience looking at the Highland Park Christmas lights. Make sure you make your reservation early if you want a date close to Christmas! We booked at the beginning of November for a ride four days before Christmas, and many of the times were already full by then! Threejays leaves from Highland Park Village, which makes for a friendly, romantic atmosphere. The Threejays check-in was quick and we left right on time. However, if you want to stop in the Starbucks beforehand (either for a drink or to use the bathroom), make sure you get there at least 30 minutes early. The line for the girls' bathroom was 10 people deep at all times and moved like molasses. The guys' line was better but there were still 2 or 3 people waiting. This means the line for drinks is quite long as well. However, once we had drinks in hand the carriage ride was great. Our driver, Lucky, was very knowledgeable about the history of the area, and he had a ton of fun facts about the individual houses. I also liked that the horses are individually owned and the carriages are driven by the horse owners. We even witnessed a proposal at Flippen Park as we drove by (apparently this is pretty common according to Lucky). The lights were beautiful and Lucky knew exactly which streets had the most impressive lights. We all had a great time and would love to do it again next year! The carriages were clean and comfortable, with lights and Christmas music playing throughout the ride. There are also blankets, which are useful because the wind makes it surprisingly nippy while the carriage is moving. The regular carriage seated four people comfortably, and while they advertise that it seats up to six, I would recommend sticking to four normal-sized adults. They offer stretch carriages and wagonettes that seat up to 12 if you need more room. read more

Such a wonderful experience! The driver was courteous and knowledgeable about Highland Park. The smaller draft horses were so cute and fun to pet. Book us for next year! read more

Threejays Carriages - Beautiful Holiday Carriage! - Transportation Near Me - Dallas, Texas

Three Jays My boss tipped me off the Three Jays last year, and it immediately became a holiday tradition in our house. Three Jays is a very well run operation in Highland Park. A horse drawn carriage rides you and your crew through mansions in HP that have been decorate for the holidays. Each you we book a carriage for six and surprise four friends. We tell them to show up at our place, where we have champagne, smoked salmon, caviar, etc. You can have dinner somewhere like Patrizi's in HP Village before or after your carriage ride. It makes for a nice, romantic, festive night. A ride lasts around an hour and costs between $150-$200 depending on the size of the carriage you book. read more

This is such a great tradition and our family has always had a wonderful experience with everyone involved. The staff has several generations of family members who do everything from driving the carriages to telling you the history and fun stories along the way, to providing a great photo of your experience and warm blankets for the ride. I would definitely recommend experiencing this at least once but book early! We booked 2 months in advance and the best time slots were already taken. read more

We do this carriage ride every year at Christmas. It is one of our favorite traditions. They were super safe and took great care to make sure we felt safe too. Don't hesitate! These people know what they're doing and it's a lovely time! read more

The carriage ride is quickly becoming one of our favorite family traditions. From the booking process to the email reminders, the photographer, the drivers, the wagon, the route Three Jays is the best. This year one in our party lost his cell phone on the ride and it was found in the street unharmed and returned. My daughter got off our wagon, ran two blocks to retrieve the phone and John, the owner, brought her back to us. We can't wait for next year's ride. read more

Five stars for logistics, staff friendliness, photos included, atmosphere and decorations. Thank you Threejays!

This company was excellent to use to see the beautiful Christmas Lights around Highland Park. The original carriage ride I booked was cancelled due to inclement weather and they sent me an email right away hours before the ride started so I could make other plans and let me reschedule my carriage ride for another date. Chance was our carriage driver and he did an outstanding job providing us with the perfect atmosphere. They had four layers of blankets for us to keep warm, gorgeous Christmas decorations on the carriages, and Christmas music playing throughout the ride. This company truly made our carriage ride an unforgettable experience and I highly recommend them. read more

Horrible company. I cancelled within the guidelines of a refund. I left several messages that I never received my refund, and the employee that works in the office assured me that the owner would be giving me a call back. I cancelled due to ice and snow being in the forecast a week ahead of time. It's been 2 month, and several phone calls, and a email, and still no response back. I'm now out $247.50. I blame the owner. read more

This company is terrible and should be ashamed of themselves. We booked a carriage ride last week, with the intent of 6 people going. In the meantime, one of them caught a cold and two others had a family emergency today and can't make it. We called to plead with them to reschedule the appointment due to the circumstances and they refused, telling us to "get some other friends to go." Threejays you've just lost at least 6 customers for life, besides everyone else I know that I tell about my experience with your company. read more

We very much enjoyed our Threejays Carriages experience (I proposed to my girlfriend on the ride). I had a dialogue with the Threejays staff over the two weeks or so prior to my reservation, and the staff was very helpful in arranging all of the details (i.e., picking the perfect route, arranging for a photographer, helping maintain the surprise, etc.). In addition, the staff members, including our driver, Michelle, were very friendly, cheerful and accommodating. The carriage was very clean and nice (even had Christmas music and Christmas lights on it) and the horses seem to be treated very well. We look forward to touring Christmas lights with Threejays every year in the future! read more

Huge fan. I have seen carriage rides blocking traffic for years and had never been on one, but we went a couple weeks ago and it was awesome. It helped that it was perfect weather but the people were very nice and helpful and I would definitely recommend it to people as a fun holiday event. read more

Threejays get a 3 star due the indifference by our carriage drive. The signup process, reminder email, friendliness of the staff helping and taking pictures were awesome. Carriages are clean, lots of blankets to stay warm, and music was holiday. Also gave a 3 star due to the lack of lights. I don't know if Highland Park residents are not putting up lights as much as they used to or if we were not taken down the right streets. We have been taking carriage rides for over 10 years and typically have a great experience. Last night did not have the magic. read more

Just got home from another memorable night checking out the amazing Christmas lights throughout Highland Park. Threejays is the way to go!! I believe this is the only company that departs from Highland Park Village which is a sight to see in itself! Lights! Lights! And more lights! The service was excellent! The team is very friendly and professional. We were greeted and shown to our carriage which was quite cozy. They also have a photographer present to take pics! Threejays provides you with blankets & Christmas music. They make sure to take you down the most lit up streets in the neighborhood! We love it & will for sure be back next year! Thank you Threejays. read more

My carriage ride had to be re-scheduled due to the ice storm, so I called three jays to re-schedule when the weather was clear, but they refused to re-schedule, even though they had some available times on their website and I had already paid on my credit card. Focus was more on the west side of Preston, I think we would have had a better time if it was on both sides. Our carriage driver didnt utter a word during our ride and understandably so ( she has to focus on driving) but dont keep reminding us to tip her off as much as the website suggest it to be, but we did. Blankets were a nice touch during the ride. I was a fun first time. Oh by the way, it wont hurt if you upgrade the cushion on the carriage for a little bit more comfort. Dont bother calling the answering service for after hours, they are no help at all a bit rude to be honest. Customer assistance pretty non existent during after hours, i dont have any experience during the day. read more

I was looking forward to experiencing Threejays Carriages for the first time this year and I must say....it exceeded my expectations! What a perfect way to get into the holiday spirit. It's no wonder why these carriage rides sell out so quickly. We got a carriage for four and it made for the perfect double date with good friends. Our driver, Lucky, was a great chauffeur and very entertaining. The path he took us on was many times breathtaking while we gazed upon the beautifully decorated mansions of Highland Park. The carriage was fully equipped with Christmas music and lights and we exchanged many "Merry Christmas!"'s to the other passing by carriages. We cozied up with the provided blankets and enjoyed the hot chocolate that we brought along with us. It is a memory we will always cherish and I hope one to make a tradition!! I would recommend Threejays to anyone. We are very satisfied customers!! read more

Jamie, was absolutely fantastic to the loving couple all went according to plan no detail left unattended.
