I have never had a dentist mention anything like this to me in all my 30+ years, I asked my normal dentist about it afterwards and he said there are many things that cause it - soft drinks, wine, I am also a tooth grinder who now wears a nightguard, but I have worn down spots on my back molars from grinding as a child. Anyways, my issue isn't that Dr. Cheevers brought this up, I feel that is fair as a healthcare professional, it's that he wouldn't drop it after as I tried to defend myself. Looking at me sympathetically and saying it was "my problem" and how I chose to deal with it was my choice, but that's what had caused it, so end of story type thing. He is very friendly, informative, and talented. He as a cool 3D camera that can scan and then display a 3D model of your actual teeth in full color. He uses that to discuss the state of your teeth, treatment options, and tips for better care. Compared to all the dentists I've seen in my life, these offices & equipment felt like walking into a starship med bay. He did a thorough cleaning and was very careful about my sensitivity adjusting his equipment & technique and provided several breaks. He refilled the chip out of my front tooth and you would not be able to tell there was ever anything wrong with it. He can also do Invisuline to straighten teeth and we discussed if that was appropriate for me. He was very thorough on the scan of my teeth and the review of the proposed treatment plan. He runs strict covid protocols which may seem a bit over the top this late in the pandemic however it is nice to know you have almost no risk. Even after I specifically asked not to be burdened with the sales pitch, it did not stop. In fact, I asked twice not to have his desire to correct an issue (that was partially cosmetically driven and not an issue for 10+ years now). This is unacceptable. If I say "no" once, I should not have to defend my position/decision or say it twice. Then he had the gall to tell me that (my words) he did not concern himself with the opinions of patients because he is so busy he does not need my business, I was floored!!
