I was overdue for a cleaning and the hygienists did a great job in getting my teeth sparkling. The Dr. reviewed my x-rays and found one small cavity. She gave me options on how to address it and we proceeded with a small filling. I appreciated that the Dr. checked in with me regularly during the procedure to make sure I wasn't experiencing any sensitivity. My appointment for next year is already booked!

The dentists are awesome and nice especially, Dr. Mike Chen who is very calm, kind, and professional. He is indeed one of the best. You will feel secure and well-taken care of. He explains every procedure before he starts, during the procedure, and after. He makes sure you are okay before proceeding to the next step and not just rush. I have my 3 wisdom tooth extraction on the same day, and Mr. Chen and his assistant did an excellent job. I did not feel nervous even if it was my first time, and I did not feel any pain during the extraction. It was also done quickly and a feeling that visiting a dental clinic can be fun too :)

A few dollars..pfft whatever, but this was far from a few dollars. -They only did half a cleaning...HALF, then told her she had to book another appointment for the other half?? "They didn't have time on her first booking"?? Get ready for ANOTHER payment. Neither I or my wife have EVER had to go for two sessions for a cleaning & x-rays. Nor have I ever heard of this.. -An email she received in response to a query about the price was a little patronizing and that was the final nail in the coffin for her.. The short story: She's a masters student & we are both covered by her plan. Even with the coverage Alma is still quite expensive, and the estimates are quite inaccurate as is the process once you get there. I will now pay 1/3 of what she might have paid for the EXACT same thing at Kingsgate Dental & the estimates are always within a few dollars as well. The waits are also 1/3 compared to Alma (they also open on the occasional Sunday). Alma should also get someone else to reply to customer service emails lol. The bright side..?? The bottom half of her mouth is pretty clean :)

They are under the UBC extended health plan here, so it is quite cheap to keep your smile looking like a million bucks if you are a student. I paid around $25 last visit. I gotta say that for the dreaded dentist visit, this place is nearly as good as it gets. Perhaps if they offered laughing gas in the waiting room I would give em 5 happy/dizzy stars.

He identified issues that I had previous knowledge of from other dentists, but where he differed was he did not recommend any expensive procedures. It was refreshing sitting with a dentist and not feeling like I was getting sold something. Without mentioning the reception and hygienists by name all I will say is they were great. They were warm and welcoming. Going to the dentist is never at the top of my list of things to do, but my experience at Terra Nova Dental Centre is about as good as it gets. He said we need to do a root canal now. So I made an appointment but I missed it due to a family emergency. So after taking the Antibiotic for a week, the pain came back after a month and I made an appointment to see him. I walked in the clinic, from his secretary to dental hygienist and the dentist himself were after me for missing the appointment and dr yu clearly said "I am not lecturing you but as business person I lost the sale and had to pay my staff. You should have given us 24 hr notice to cancel so I could have used that time and I lost so much money because of you guys....and you got the estimate for your daughters Invisalign and never got them done". We have been going to this dentist since 2002, we don't have any dental insurance and we have to pay each time from my pocket. For my daughter I paid whatever the consultation was but he quoted an amount that I couldn't afford at that moment so we never anything done from him or any others dentist. For my husband he said it will be cheaper if you just get filling done for now but you need a root canal as it would be cheaper to just have the filling done. He charged me 380 dollars and for root canal it would only be another 300. He didn't give me any price point if though I asked him twice. And now the pain I had gone through for about 2 weeks and now again I am in pain or a week. Who is accountable for the pain I am going through. He just cares for money that's it. He is just a business man not a dentist.

They use incredibly outdated archaic methods and practices, almost as if this dental practice was from the 1800s. I remember dreading coming here, and their lack of understanding and competence was actually so bad that it put me off going to the dentist for years. That dinosaur of a dentist completely ruined my perspective of maintaining proper dental health. Thankfully I found a modern dental practice in downtown Vancouver which delightfully addressed all of my concerns, and helped me improve my dental health tenfold. I hope Seafair Dental Center closes down for good. What a terrible awful place.

Unlike many dental offices out there, Dr. Kwong is not all about making that extra buck. Our family works with 2 hygienists for cleanings, Viktoriya and Kelly, both are top notch and work with extreme attention to detail! I have recently completed phase 1 of a tooth implant process. It happens to be one of my very front teeth and you can imagine how vulnerable that might make you feel. Dr. Kwong is the dental surgeon that did the procedure and I was nothing less than blown away at how easy and painless it all was. I experienced virtually no pain during or after the procedure. There was very little swelling and absolutely no bruising. At the moment I am fitted with a temporary tooth as the grafting takes place, I will get my permanent implant in July. I'd say he is extremely good at what he does. And I would also have to mention the women who run administration, Michelle and Karolina. Awesomely competent and well organized, super friendly too. As is everyone in the office! Karolina was also the assistant during my implant surgery and she was fantastic! This is an office that runs top to bottom like a high end and well oiled machine. I've had bad experiences as a kid/teenager. For weeks, and hours leading up to the appointment, I was getting anxiety and my husband reassured me I was in good hands. My first experience was with the front desk, and the young ladies were lovely and genuine. They had my insurance set up; I didn't need to lift a finger. In LESS THAN 12 hours I got my return from Sunlife (benefits company). It was so simple and quick! The actual office is state of the art, quick, and effective. Everything including X-rays are shown up on LCD TVs in front of you so you know what the dentists plan on fixing or improving. I had Kelly as my dental hygenist. She was kind, relatable, understanding, and empathetic. Did I mention she has a great sense of humour? She was professional and made me feel super comfortable. She demonstrates a true passion for her role and her attention to detail was impeccable. She also explained what plaque and tartar was and how it could impact teeth and gums. During the cleaning process I was fighting to stay awake! I was so relaxed I could have taken a nap! She gave me the remote to the TV and I watched TV and relaxed while she did her thing. Normally I would be gripping the edge of the chair in fear. Dr. Ma is very friendly and understanding. She has a great sense of humour and does her best to make her patients feel welcome. You can also see the openness she has with the hygienists and the sense of partnership they share. The experience from beginning to end has really reduced my fear of dentists and have already booked future appointments with anticipation. I am young and wanting to protect my teeth for decades to come. They have really changed my view of someone putting hands and loud gadgets in my face. Oh, and as a first patient they give you a welcome PINEAPPLE. A real pineapple. The fruit, as a welcome gift!!! Thanks! I'll be back for YEARS and will recommend ALL friends and family. :)
