I've only been a new client for 5 days and they've been so welcoming and not just because they gave me a tote bag of free swag after my first visit - a brand new Oral-B electric toothbrush, your standard manual toothbrush, floss, toothpaste, and lip balm! Haha! You'd think they're constantly booked up because they're right in the heart of downtown Vancouver. But they're really accommodating with scheduling in appointments. I like that their system can send me both email and text reminders. I always had really awful experiences with previous dentists growing up. It had been a while since I had my teeth cleaned and examined so I was really nervous but Dr. Chen, her assistants, and Priscilla the hygienist were really thorough in explaining to me what they were going to do via x-rays, taking photos of my teeth, and giving me advice on proper brushing. I feel at ease and comfortable when I'm there. My boyfriend and his family are also patients there. He was the one who told me about this location!

He never rushes, but my appointments seem to go by quickly, because I'm not hating every minute of it and counting the seconds until it's done. I have been to the dentist more than I would like to admit so I have quite a bit of experience with them. When I walked in the clinic I was pleasantly surprised that this little gem was hiding in my neighbourhood all this time. They have all the latest and greatest equipment and all the staff were very professional yet still friendly and upbeat. Dr. Nguyen has one of the best bedside manners of the 8 different dentists I have had over the many years and felt confident I had made the right choice even before the work began. He has a great personality. His assitant Tas was very professional and knowledgeable and the two of them work so so well together. The professionalism between them was very comforting and gave me a sense of trust one would like to have being in a dental office. Very thorough and efficient. I had a molar extracted the first visit and I healed very well and he did an amazing job which is a testament to his work. A crown on my second and it went awesome as well! In the end, I am only disappointed I had not found him earlier as I would have left my prior dentist for Dr. Nguyen and his team in a heartbeat. I would highly recommend Newton Village Dental Clinic and will be coming here for years to come for sure.

I have never had a dentist mention anything like this to me in all my 30+ years, I asked my normal dentist about it afterwards and he said there are many things that cause it - soft drinks, wine, I am also a tooth grinder who now wears a nightguard, but I have worn down spots on my back molars from grinding as a child. Anyways, my issue isn't that Dr. Cheevers brought this up, I feel that is fair as a healthcare professional, it's that he wouldn't drop it after as I tried to defend myself. Looking at me sympathetically and saying it was "my problem" and how I chose to deal with it was my choice, but that's what had caused it, so end of story type thing.
