When I think of a pub, Three Tuns is exactly what I picture, dark wood, happy and friendly patrons and good food. We came across their website and read the menu and knew that we had to come in and have some food. We came on a Friday so it was quiet busy, but we were able to find a table right at the entrance. You have to order from the bar, we sat there for a little thinking a server would come and help. For starters we had the batter halloumi and for my mains I ordered the steak and ale pie with the triple cooked chips while Bryan ordered the vintage cheddar and bacon burger with chips and a side of onion rings, we're not drinkers so I had a ginger beer and Bryan had a coke. We did wait a really long time, apparently there was a huge party at the pub and so they were a bit backed up in the kitchen, they didn't get a chance to tell us that, but they were really apologetic for the wait. Our food though was really delicious, I had never had halloumi cheese before but it was so salty and cheesy it was so good, I need that in my life. My chips were really crisp and it paired so well with the gravy, my pie was tasty too, the meat consistency was a just a little strange for me, too soft really. Bryan said that his burger was the best we had on the trip and we had plenty so that is saying a lot. I really give this place a 4.5, the food was good, the consistency on the meat for my pie was a little strange but it was really flavorful and the wait time for food made me a little hangry, but would definitely come back!

Cozy place that is well kept and feels like a pub and not a sports bar. Appreciate 5 different cask ale options which seems to be rare these days

I finally had the chance to try the Three Tuns pub. I often stay at the Doubletree across the street, and have observed it gets quite busy after work with the local office workers, who often overflow onto the sidewalk. At 1530, they were not very busy so I ordered the salmon cakes with salad and onion rings for takeaway. The young ladies at behind the bar were very nice and helpful. The atmosphere is that of an old small neighborhood pub. The salmon cakes were quite good, with plenty of salmon chunks. The salad was fresh with light oil and vinegar. The onion rings were tasty, but they were mostly breading with a lot of oil. Overall my experience at the Three Tuns was very good, and will certainly be back on my next trip to London.

This was the first pub we stopped in when we arrived in London. It was close to the hotel and we tried to go in a few other times, but it was crowded with it's regular and local customers. It does get quite busy in the evening. Great traditional British pub , with a variety of good beers and local ones too. Had some good food here and the service was excellent. Poor girl working behind the bar, was the only one there, but she was amazing, handling a full bar with the lunch crowd and able to deliver food, drinks, smile and make sure everyone was taken care of.

Fish slightly over cooked but still flaky on the inside. Chips could have been warmer. Nice ambiance.

Solid pub, great place to go after work. Nice ambiance, clean, with a nice staff. Please be patience with them as they are a little understaffed. Wide variety of beers and food at a reasonable price. I had the fish and chips and I would put it at fair. Large piece of fish but a big over cooked. See pic. Chips could have been warmer. The beer was great.

After a long and expensive day watching the wife spend money on Oxford Street, this place is a blessing. For a pittance you can eat and drink in style. We three shared the chicken favorites platter and the mushroom pie. Now, you might say, wait, two dishes for three people? And I say, oh yes, plenty of food! Maybe even too much! But if you need a friendly corner while watching others shop, go here!

My husband and I went on a trip from the USA and my one request was to eat in a UK pub. He had the wild boar bangers and mash and I had the steak and ale pie. The food was the best food we had on our trip and I was so amazed at how sweet the staff was! The decor seemed so authentic and it was seat yourself unless reserved. The beer was great and I had a white peach sangria which was perfectly sweet and not too strong. If we get the chance to return to London we will be back!

Great atmosphere, good pints, and your average London pub food. Servers were attentive and friendly.

Remarkable, he scored and I literally walked around the corner and saw the long line to get into the pub first. I was seated immediately, however, and proceeded to enjoy a traditional Sunday Roast. Room was very pleasant (there are so many I got lost returning to my table from a bio brake. Roast was very good ( but no Lawry's) and the sides excellent. Could not decide if my favorite was the roast potatoes (crispy outside soft inside) or the glazed carrots. Yorkshire pudding was good but again, I am to used to the Lawry's and this is a different style. Peas were, well, peas, but very fresh. The sticky toffee cake was excellent and the Guinness fresh, creamy and a proper pour. Good thing because the selection of winners by the glass and half bottles of wine were both a little thin. Overall wine list was good but I was alone and not up for drinking a full bottle by myself. Overall, very enjoyable and to judge by the crowd and difficulty in getting a reservation, one of the more popular in town.

The history alone makes it worth visiting, and the location is perfect if you're exploring the area. It feels very classic London in the best way. We stopped in for a pint and honestly... the whole after-work beer culture over there is something I really need to bring back with me to the States. The beer was great, the atmosphere was lively without feeling overwhelming, and it just felt like one of those places where people naturally gather and stay awhile. Definitely worth stopping into if you're in the area.

Two story space - the ground floor feature the bar and handles walk in lunch; the upstairs is a dining room for those with reservations. Fun fact, as part of the history, the pub used to be the host of bare knuckle fights and had regulars like Charles Dickens. Wildfarmed sourdough - served with whipped salted butter and Guinness butter. Well toasted bread and the butters with salt were well made. Fuller's London Pride marinated steak and ale pie - served with seasonal veggies and red wine gravy, as well as either mash potatoes or triple cooked chips. If there is one dish London does really well, it's their pies. It was beautifully made and loaded with steak. The red wine gravy was decadent and added a perfect amount of moisture to the pie. Triple cooked chips were perfectly crispy but fluffy on the inside. Corn fed chicken breast - served with garlic and sage butter, mash potato, cavolo nero, and crispy onions. Only took a bite of this as it was my partner's dish but the bite of chicken I had was very juicy and well seasoned.
