Saw this old multi story bar with optional outside seating on Victoria Street and had to check it out. Extremely busy with that warm British wood charm and lots of that orange colored lighting. No server comes to your table, you must order at the bar then sit and wait for your food to arrive. Our craft beers on tap by Greene King were provided by the bartender and were sudsy and ice cold. We then sat and waited about 45 minutes for our simple two plates of fried fish. Finally, I asked the bartender where the food was. He went to find it and then brought out the wrong order. A few minutes later both meals were on our table. Long wait and confusion. Took a stroll upstairs on an old wide dark brown wooden staircase with huge pictures of the Queen affixed to the wall. There was another eating area and two bathrooms down a thin hall. The womens bathroom had zero toilet paper (wife confirmed) and her face as she exited was priceless. The mens bathroom was completely flooded, although somehow working. I drank beer so I had to go and took a chance. I was standing in an inch of water in this tiny bathroom (see pic). Aside from the obvious screw ups, the cod was cooked perfectly with a lovely flaky crust. In my opinion, I would definitely recommend the relaxed ambiance and the food, but new management might be a good thought.

Thought we struck gold when we walked into this little British decorated pub and found a seat immediately. Sat for a bit, but no one came over to greet us. Hubby went to the bar and ordered some drinks and asked for a server. The food took a long time to get to us and was incorrect. Eventually, they brought us our correct meals which were decent. Just another story we have to tell from our London trip.

We were looking for Lunch after visiting Churchill's War Room (an outstanding Musuem), and found The Albert. Read the plaque on the building and was hooked. Love venues with a history. The Albert looks to be a traditional British Pup, but what do I know, my first time to Great Britian and I don't watch British TV. I ordered a meat pie and Jan ordered mussels. The meat pie was not very good. The upper crust was hard and the pie filing was mostly au jus. Not sure what the Au Jus was for. Very little meat in the pie. Jan ordered muscles and thought they were pretty good. I had a local beer and it was excellent. The restrauant has a a pub feel and vibe. The service was OK and it wasn't too noisy.

We randomly stumbled in here as we walked up the street from Westminster Abbey towards the West End for a theater show. This bar has two levels, a traditional pub atmosphere downstairs and a more quiet space upstairs. We opted to go upstairs based on a lack of seating and enjoyed a few drinks and some food. Keep in mind that service in the UK is a bit different than the states. We ended up having to go up to the bar to order everything and they have table numbers fixed to the table tops where you sit so they just run the food out to you. The fish and chips were actually quite good and the drink prices were even better. Was happy to find Buffalo Trace bourbon, something that was not regularly available the rest of the time we were in the UK.

This visit was back on track. Six cask ales available, including two IPAs (plus two IPAs on draught rather than pumped) and eight local ales on draught. Service was friendly and fast. It was good to be back at The Albert again !

Part of the Greene King pub chain that you'll find all around London, especially downtown. They all have similar menus and beer lists. While nothing spectacular, at least you always know what you're getting. I also went to one called The Victoria, right by Victoria Station. There's a decent craft beer selection, and the food is good, better than you would likely get at most bars. I got the chicken Kyiv, not bad, came with chips, a good value. Plenty of places to sit and many TVs with sports matches on. Located down the road from Westminster Abbey, I actually ended up stopping here after Sunday services there. If you happen to be staying in the area, and are looking for a quick place to stop and ear, it's not a bad option.

The historical eatery was just a block from our hotel. We were yearning for that "pub" experience and this place definitely fit the bill, so much we came back a second time! The first thing we ordered was cod fish nuggets and a tomato soup with white bread and butter. They were both excellent! We were so weary of cabs the second day that we decided to go back for the Sunday Roast. Joe got the chicken roast and I got the Mac n Cheese with garlic toast. They both were divine. It has been 20+ years since I've had this. The atmosphere was fun especially since there was a big footy match with Manchester United. Happy crowd and a fun atmosphere.

Had a wonderful experience at The Albert. I got lost in the area and stumbled on this place on a chilly night. Ambiance was nice and staff was very friendly. Had some beers and a few yager bomb birthday shots will be back once I'm back in town!

I have not a clue how rugby is played, but the patrons at The Albert sure as hell do. I am learning new things!

Great old location with a wonderful vibe good beer choices of old traditional Ale style beers ( a bit on the warm side) but good cold selection from UK, Japan, Italy. London Pilsner was my favorite! Had fish and chips which others in my group from USA all agreed was good however Nachos was not very good ( just taste different) ( ps I recommend avoiding Mexican food anywhere in UK and Europe) !

1 hour to get a cheese sandwich and fish and chips and this is the quality of the food. The bartender was nice but the kitchen and waitstaff need to get it together -- so bad!

Fun historic pub! Great place to watch England advance to the finals of the Women's World Cup! Beautiful old building. Full bar and great beers on tap. The guys behind the bar a bit clueless but I'm guessing they don't pay much for talent in a tourist draw like this. Food is mid grade pub grub. Get here on foot.

Decent bar food, very live and loud crowd but hey it's a pub in London what do you expect right? Loved the vibe. Servers were friendly.

Fn place with interesting history. Was weird to be seated once only to be moved to a less desirable back/side room. Food was decent enough.

I had a beef and ale pie which was incredibly crisp and buttery on the outside and beefy/saucy on the inside.
