Wanted to give a great shout out to the team at Three Tomatoes Catering. I've been in the restaurant & event industry for 47 years & have had the pleasure of working with caterers all over the States as well as numerous other countries. My mother-in-law recently passed & naturally the family asked for me to handle the catering etc. for the memorial. Had the pleasure to work directly with Jacqueline Murphy, the General Manager. She was a joy to work with, the consummate professional & very sensitive to all of the issues that come with producing a memorial. The memorial was just under 40 guests, meaning it was a small event. I felt that I received just the same service as if the event was, say, a big gala for several hundred. All the staff at the event were simply a delight, & went above & beyond from a service standpoint. Dominique, our manager, was on top of all as was the entire team... seamless! In addition, the memorial was on a Sunday, & quite frankly the last person I expected to see for a small event was Three Tomatoes General Manager who stopped by just to check on all, certainly yet another great "tell" for customer service! The guests loved the food & the presentation, heard many great comments, I just wish I'd had an opportunity to try more of it, but duty called. Was equally impressed that the CEO/owner, Riccardo Mazzeo personally got back to my initial inquiry, on the very same day... a Sunday no less! I wish I could say as much about the myriad of other caterers I've worked with over the years. It was very apparent to me that customer service IS job one at Three Tomatoes Catering! Was particularly impressed that Riccardo also took the time to write me a really nice email, of which much of it was reflecting his condolences. That spoke volumes. Food is mediocre. Ownership is horrific to deal with. Three Tomatoes provided food service for my sisters wedding. As the maid of honor, I was one of the first tables (table #2) to get called up to the buffet, which was a taco bar. I would say at most 15 people had been up to the buffet at that point. They had already run out of food. I was told by one of the staff that they only brought one tray of the vegetarian option by mistake. They ran out of the majority of the food items before the last 5 tables were able to be served, which meant a large portion of the guests were served only rice, beans and tortilla chips. It goes without saying how unacceptable this is, but these things happen. What I wasn't expecting was the response from the owner. My sister called me in tears more than once after interacting with Ricardo. The level of gas lighting and victim blaming was off the charts. After dragging the newly weds through the mud, they were offered a small refund - but only if they signed a settlement agreement saying that they would not post negative reviews or have others post negative reviews. They decided not to take the small sum of money in hopes that their review will help a future couple avoid the headache they've endured. read more

I really was hoping to give 3T a raving review. However they did me in one too many times. I will not share it all but a couple thinks that still wrk me. I went through 3 account managers and communication was bad. So much so they sent me an invoice 50 ppl over our guest count after I had asked for revisions 5 times over the span of a month. My last day of contact went to another event day of wedding and didn't even mention to me that she wouldn't be there until the night before. LARGEST point that I would like to share is that the food they served me at my tasting and then the food my guests were served the day of was sooo incredibly disappointing compared to what I thought 3t would deliver. The photos below were for my mother in law and sister (2 people they should be trying to impress ) The apps (that I don't have photos of) were not what I ordered at all. I was embarrassed at what came out to be truthful. It looked like a naked piece of chicken with Mayo squirted down it when it was supposed to be a honey citrus chicken with herbs and a fennel sauce. I told 3T so many times that presentation was my biggest care about. And as you can see, I was not heard. When I called the owner to express my feelings and show him these photos, he told me that my opinion was subjective and several chefs he would ask would say that my tasting experience and day of were equal. Please take my opinion into account before planning your wedding with 3T. Some of their staff was lovely the day of, and the owner really does have a big heart. The food at the tasting was delicious. From the looks of their website and this page, it looks like they do wonderful work. However, I did not receive that and did not feel heard after investing in this company for the most important event I will ever host. I used Three Tomatoes to cater my wedding at the Denver Clock Tower in April and I couldn't have been happier with the results. Abby, our event coordinator, was excellent to work with. Starting with creating the initial menu and suggesting different options, to coordinating the rentals (e.g table linens, glassware), to suggesting decor and layout options. She is great to work with and goes out of her way to make sure you are satisfied. Day of, all the food was presented beautifully and was placed exactly where we discussed. (If your unfamiliar with the D&F Clock Tower, there are 5 floors you have the option of using for a reception. This means food is typically spread throughout the venue as a "progressive style" of eating.) Although my husband and I weren't able to enjoy much of the food day of, we did receive several compliments from our guests on the taste of the food. One of your drivers ran me off the road at Santa Fe and Evans on 9/10/2020 @1:35 pm. I attempted to call and couldn't get an answer and the voicemail was full. The driver was distracted on her phone. I have two horses in my trailer and she endangered myself and them. I am pulling a 50 foot rig so she had to of seen me. They catered a workshop I attended and provided these amazing granola bars. I was skeptical, but ended taking a few of them and wish I took them all. The turkey sandwiches were packed with a lot of meat, but the Italian subs were just okay. The sides of salad and chips weren't great and I wish there was less waste in plastic and styrofoam. Our experience with Three Tomatoes has been unreal in the most horrendous of ways. When they RAN OUT OF FOOD at our wedding, we figured that would be the low point of our experience with them, however their response when we requested a partial refund was when we were truly shocked how much they do not care about their customers. We overestimated the number of guests that would attend our wedding so the agreed upon guest count was higher than the amount that attended and they still ran out of food for at least quarter of the tables with some options running out sooner. Understandably frustrated, we reached out to the company in hopes that Three Tomatoes would acknowledge their mistake and give them an opportunity to make it right. After a handful of email exchanges asking for proper compensation for their error, they did refund a very small fraction of the initial refund request but were not willing to refund the service and rental fees for the guests that did not get a full meal. After a call with the owner, we came to an agreement that an additional refund offer would be extended. While still not what we thought was reasonable, we agreed to review the offer. Upon reviewing the settlement agreement attached to the offer, we noticed a clause was written into the offer that stated if we were to be refunded, we would agree to not write a negative review of Three Tomatoes. We immediately rejected this offer as we can't imagine someone else going through this same experience. We have NEVER worked with a company that has such poor customer service. Throughout the experience the messaging to us was that these types of things happen, but it would appear it's a much more common experience with Three Tomatoes. We cannot emphasize how much we DISCOURAGE you from hiring Three Tomatoes to cater what is already one of the most important days of your lives. read more

Worst catering I've ever experienced at a wedding. I attended a wedding catered by Three Tomatoes last month - and they single handedly ruined the experience for everyone involved. Not only was the food over an hour late, but they ran out of food for the last four tables! By the end they were just giving people plates of cold undercooked meat. I absolutely loved working with Three Tomatoes! From the tasting to the execution everything was fantastic. The company overall was accommodating and flexible when we had to push our wedding date back 9 months due to COVID. They did not charge us extra, but simply moved the day of the event in their calendar. Our coordinator, Caitlin was beyond helpful and accommodating as well. She was able to help us change head counts last minute due to family emergencies a few days prior to the wedding. The best part was their staff the day of - they were kind, considerate and quick moving to help us transition into cocktail hour, into dinner and then into partying. One of the catering staff would come out to clean up spills on the dance floor and was witnessed to dance and show off his moves in the spirit of the night - he was AMAZING and definitely one of the highlights of the evening. I used Three Tomatoes catering for my wedding in September. I researched a ton of caterers and sampled menus at a few different places before deciding on Three Tomatoes. My event coordinator, Donnah went above and beyond with everything from the initial discussion to the day of the ceremony. I highly recommend working with Donnah if you chose Three Tomatoes; she is a natural for working in the service industry. The price point was very good for the quality of food and when I went with some of my family members to sample the menu, you they provided us the full menu with the items I had selected and swaped out anything we weren't huge on after sampling it. Donnah listens extremely well to feedback and makes adjustments accordingly. She helped me decide on a menu that was well balanced and tasted awesome. Donnah helped with waaaay more than her job required. She came to the venue the day of my final walk-through to make sure everything was perfect. She helped me with the floor layout for the tables, down to the colors of the linens. I decided to have all the food served family-style and it was important to me that the timing was perfect; I hate going to weddings where half the guests are eating and the other half are standing around waiting. I recently put on a gala fundraiser for a nonprofit organization with a tight budget. Brittani and her team were the only caterer in town that could create a great menu within my budget. Not only were they cost-effective, but they were a dream to work with. Brittani was so supportive throughout the whole process; I felt like she was personally invested in the success of my event. Finally, the staff the night of the event was amazing. Our guests raved about the food and about how accommodating and wonderful the staff was. Our company has tried a few caterers and I have to say that Three Tomatoes has the most flavorful food. They also have an extensive menu. From their Beef Roulade to their baked Brie, everything tastes good. I'm craving their the spinach, cranberry and roasted pumpkin seed salad as we speak. The lunch boxes each had six items each day: sandwich, grain salad (my favorite), pickle, chips, dessert, and one additional item. I used Three Tomatoes for my wedding two weeks ago, and they were absolutely outstanding throughout the process. First and foremost, their pricing is fair, reasonable and a true value for the product and service. The food was absolutely delicious! All of our guests raved about it. I was a little worried about serving several entrees to 100 people. Would the steak be cooked properly? Could they maintain the quality of the food that we had at the tasting for that many people? The answer is yes. Everything was delicious. They were even able to do the cake. I was delighted as it meant I didn't have to find another vendor. Their baker made a delicious cake and was able to decorate it exactly as I wanted it. It made everything so easy. Their staff was kind, courteous and professional, and were eager to be helpful in anyway they could. I was very lucky to be able to work with Abby Schissler as my event coordinator. She went above and beyond anything I would have ever thought to ask for or about. She even went so far as to handle all the details with the event rentals for the evening (linens, etc), so there was less work for me! She was kind enough to assist with room layout, decorating ideas - everything I needed. It was far beyond the service I would have expected from someone in her position. If you do choose Three Tomatoes, ask for her - you will not regret it! I would recommend them without hesitation for any type of event that you are thinking of having. I am so impressed with this company and the fantastic representative Abby. I had to find a company to cater a funeral reception in a short amount of time. I called one company and spoke to a person who promised to get back to me , and she did not. Luckily, I had called Three Toms and left a message. since my call was over a weekend. First thing Monday Abby called me and we were able to get all set up for the reception which was in less than 48 hours . The price was great, the delivery arrived on time , the food was good and because I asked for additional time , they were able to push the pick-up time back to accommodate us. I had a call from Abby to make sure all was ok. ( it was ) and a really nice sympathy note from her later . We made the mistake of hiring 3 tomatoes for our wedding. Leading up to the big day they couldn't get my invoice right so I had to correct them multiple times. Then at the wedding they showed up extremely short staffed and that's when everything truly fell apart. They brought dinner out extremely late and everyone's meal was cold. They didn't fill anyone's champagne or water glasses, even the head table. This was of course after they ruined most of my champagne from leaving it sit out. They didn't put the sauce on the steak, didn't have the kids meals I ordered, or the vegetarian option and then out of all things RAN OUT OF FOOD. They were serving 2.5 full tables of barely cooked meat hunks with no sides that guests didn't feel comfortable eating. They sent 1 bartender for a 130 person wedding of heavy drinkers which I told the coordinator Jodi beforehand. She didn't care though because she wasn't there that night. The bartender ran out of ice and tonic which were both supplied by them so he had to leave for over an hour to go get some, leaving our bar unattended. These are just a few of the many embarrassing mistakes that happened that night. They did end up refunding us around 50% but it didn't make up for how poorly the night went. I LOVE THIS PLACE! Just had my wedding catered by Three Tomatoes and it was sooooo perfect! First of all Hannah is a blessing from God. She always answered all of my questions with grace, even though I think I emailed her every week with a new question! The food was the best food I have ever had at a wedding and all 135 of my guests couldn't say enough about it! Best of all my new husband and I got to eat everything! They gave us a plate of apps and a plate of everything at the buffet so we could eat while everyone else went through the line! The staff was amazing also! They were exceptional during the planning processes for my wedding but the execution was lacking, which is beyond a bummer when the catering was for the most important day of my life. They didn't bring enough food which meant some guests were not able to partake. This also meant we didn't get our bride and groom boxed meals that were promised. We were so hungry after the busyness of the day! I had a brunch wedding with mimosas and bloody marys. They did not provide the garnishes that were included in my contract so the bloody marys were lacking all of the best parts- the add ins! I was unpleased to see tip jars sitting at the bars because far before the wedding I asked that they not ask for tips from my guests-I told them I would tip and I did this in writing twice. Still they had their tip jars out. Three Tomatoes said they would be there to help cut the wedding cake. They weren't and a cake of that size was not easy to cut on our own- it was a mess when we were done with it. Most importantly is that staff "forgot" the champagne toast. Can you imagine our family and friends gathering to share their sentiments during a traditional toast .... and having empty champagne glasses? This is the most important cultural tradition for my now husband and it was lost. Then we had to return cases of champagne which was beyond inconvenient. I would try them for smaller, casual events when mistakes can pop up without alarm, but definitely not for a wedding. read more

Wow - really, really disappointed in this company. Non-communicative, unresponsive, and NOT getting our business. My fiance and I contacted this company at the recommendation of our venue and others, and at first, I was pleased by the professionalism of Shannon. She took the time to call me and talk at length with me about what we were looking for in our wedding reception and what type of menu we wanted to offer our guests. Before we hung up, she read back the items we had talked about, including our budget. About a week later, we received a proposal that was: (1) way over budget, (2) included much more food than we discussed, and (3) included both some unimaginative dishes and some yummy dishes. After my fiance and I reviewed the proposal, I emailed Shannon with some questions and a request to change a couple of things about the menu....very low maintenance, easy fixes. Shannon responded that she was busy that day but would reply to our questions by the following evening and get a revised proposal to us within a few days. Then...crickets. We never heard another peep out of her or Three Tomatoes. Ever. She never answered our questions and never sent another proposal. Two weeks later, I called and left a message for Shannon. Then, not knowing if email was a better way to reach her, I immediately followed up with an email asking if she had any questions or needed any additional information from us in order to pull together the revised proposal. CRICKETS. Never responded to my email or my voice mail. That was over a month ago. I guess this company gets enough business that they do not care about repelling potential clients, unless they have an unlimited budget. I am very disappointed and plan to pass along our experience to anyone looking for a wedding caterer, as well as my venue, who recommended the company. After many emails with Shannon to set up a tasting for our wedding, we were told we'd have cheese and a yummy beverage when we come in to meet with them. When we arrived, we were offered water, not that big of a deal, but not a good start to deliver on what they say they will do. We then met with Shannon for over 2 hours to create our menu for our wedding, we were told that we'd have a proposal by the end of the week. Two weeks went by with no word, so I emailed back and she said, "So sorry, I thought I sent it, I'll have that to you in a few days." I never got anything. We waited again, and never heard back from this person. Literally, that was it. I was very disappointed with the lack of communication, and they completely wasted our time. It was very unprofessional. I then got emails from another sales person a month later asking if I was still looking for a caterer, she had no idea I guess that we'd already met with someone from their team. Complete lack of communication between them, and very frustrating situation for us. I would not recommend their services...looks like this happened before with Shannon as I read below. I have used Brittani and 3 Tomatoes twice now for corporate Open House events. What I love about them, is that they take care of everything: food, service, rentals, bar, you name it. I now know that I all I have to do is tell them what I want, and they will be there on time to set-up and take care of everything. I have had Dale as a service captain twice as well, and both times he was fabulous. The second go around I forgot that we would need a coat check and Dale reassured me not even 5 min into the event that he had already contacted Brittani about having a coat check at our next open house. I should also note that Abbey was great to work with. She was extremely accommodating and thought of everything. It was a great pleasure working with this company through the entire process of planning a wedding, however, the management team here does not know how to take negative feedback or how to compensate for it. We had a dish served at our wedding that simply was not executed in the way it was presented to us at tasting. We realize this dish was made en mass, however, it was completely different than what we agreed to. The version we got was boring, bland, and hardly anyone ate it. When we brought this to the attention of management, we were told "the chef says there was not a problem with the dish" and offered us 10% off the dish (roughly $16). Purely an insult rather than a remedy. I was highly disappointed by Three Tomatoes Catering for my most important wedding day. I was promised so many wonderful things in regards to service and what they would do for me. The tastings were delicious and I felt confident in using them (a very big decision with the money that I spent). From the moment we walked into the venue, the bar was not fully staffed or set up, alcohol was not chilled and they were in disarray with running behind schedule. The line for my guests to get a drink took a long time. There was only one server for appetizers and she was rude. I as the bride did not even get served yet I was the one who paid the bill! Highly disappointing. The white wine and beer was served warm all night. Dinner was running 15-20 min late as I learned later their servers were running late. There was no sauce for the flank steak as paid for and promised. The champagne toast was also screwed up as I got 2 bottles/table and my guests only got a small "swallow". They promised us (bride and groom) "to-go" dinner boxes at end of night and the servers had no idea what we were talking about. Overall, highly disappointing service and quality from this catering company. Run fast and far if you are considering them! When I spoke to the Director she said this was a "training opportunity". Our event coordinator Natalie was wonderful in helping us plan our events down to the lines and room set up. The service team went above and beyond from the very beginning and I couldn't thank them more. The constant assistance in re-restocking drinks, clearing tables and the last minute rearranging of the room when we had to accommodate more people. No task was too big or out of the question, even when it was not part of the job description. The food was delicious and resonably priced. All allergy/dietary restrictions and concerns were handled without an issue. The menu has diverse options to please any palate. I just attended a major event catered by Three Tomatoes. I am very impressed. The food was surprisingly good and they even had a vegetarian version of the chile being served and it was wonderful. More impressive even than the food was their choice of all compostable or reusable dishes, cutlery and plates. Soup was served in charming enamelware cups. The plates were some sort of wood fiber, lightweight and strong. The cutlery was made of a light but strong wood. Not one bit of plastic anywhere. It made me realize how possible it would be to move away from single use plastic. Here is a company setting a great example while doing their job amazingly well. Kudos!
