    Canadian rapids

4 stars mainly because this place doesn't have the most mesmerizing sights of the park (I mean, really hard to beat grandiose frontal views of the falls), but great to check out if you have extra time. Place offers multiple perspectives of the Canadian rapids that ultimately spill into Horseshoe Falls. Makes a nice little shaded stroll. Much less foot traffic here compared to other sections of the park.

We love coming here. The Niagara River is difficult to resist if you know of what it is and does to anyone living nearby. I've lived in several countries and places throughout the USA. Just because water is nearby, does NOT mean that water you see nearby is the same that comes out of your faucets! People so take for granted water at hand and what is actually available. I've even lived in dry HOT places where is regularly turned OFF at 11pm till 7am. Live like that for a year and YOU will start thinking about how much water comes OUT of your faucets, and how little there is in so many parts of the world! Along with the water views, there are lots of rapids and wildlife seen from this location. Granted, we don't know the timetable of the wildlife, you're bound to see something soon enough if you wait long enough, AND stay quiet so they can enjoy the area too! Enjoy!!

Three Sisters Island is a tiny island off of Goat Island. It feels peaceful and powerful all at the same time. As you walk down the path across the island you can definitely hear and almost feel the power of the Niagara River as it surrounds you. It's similar to the feeling you get when you stand next to the Falls. At the same time there's this quietness to the whole place. Not sure if that all makes sense. Guess you'll have to check it out yourself and see what you think. I do think it's a spot that many people don't pay much attention to. A hidden gem. 2021-179

We spent the day at Niagara Falls State Park and took the trolley down to Three Sisters Island. While there isn't much to see here I really enjoyed it. We got out and saw a bridge. Took some photos of the Niagara River from there. I wish more people on the trolley would come see this. For me, I enjoyed seeing the river before it goes down the Horseshoe Falls. Very tranquil over there and cool to see the birds hanging out in the water. Be prepared for packed trolleys if you are taking the trolley back since nobody gets out here and it will be packed with everyone wanting to go back to the other side of the park.

Every gull and his brother was out there last weekend! :-)

This is a lovely area just up-river from the Falls. There is a beautiful, easy short trail and bridges out to the river. The shallow rocky area closer to the shoreline has about a million sea gulls to watch and enjoy, a great spot for photography. (FYI - WNY has one of the most diverse gull populations in the world.) Three Sisters during the off season has an easy, free parking lot. It's still free during the warmer tourist season, but it's small so less likely to get a spot. But in December, when we were there last weekend, you're a shoe-in for parking! :-) There is a convenient public restroom right there next to the lot too. So enjoy some gulls, river-sounds serenity, and easy bathroom break access! :-D

We enjoyed the story behind the island. The bridges were beautiful. The tiny islands and waterfalls were gorgeous. This wasn't a very long attraction maybe a good 15-20 minutes to observe everything.

You can see the beginning of Niagra Falls from 3 Sisters Island and hear the water before it gets to the Falls. The path takes you to the last Island and you can see other areas of NY across the water. If you are in Niagra Park and have time, it's worth it to either take the trolley and walk across the bridges or walk around the park and see these Islands and Goat Island.

Beautiful tucked away gem. You are closer to the falls here than almost anywhere else. A must see.

The view and the roar of the falls are absolutely breathtaking, especially on the Canadian side, where a lovely trail takes you to popular spots like boat cruises and ziplining. The Table Rock Welcome Centre is a great spot for shopping, dining, and unique experiences such as Niagara Takes Flight. To make things easier, they have the Falls Incline Railway, which is perfect for those staying at nearby hotels, so you can get to the falls without a long walk. If you're driving, the parking area is available for $40. Once you reach the end of the trail, you can enjoy the Oakes Garden Theatre and the lively Clifton Hill, which is packed with restaurants and entertainment. At night, the illuminated falls and the amazing fireworks at 10 p.m. create a truly magical atmosphere. In short, Niagara Falls is a must-visit destination that's full of awe-inspiring sights and fun attractions.

Absolutely spectacular!…read more The Canadian side of Niagara Falls offers the most complete and dramatic views of both Horseshoe Falls and the American Falls, and the smaller Bridal Falls, so i highly recommend spending more time in Canada if possible. There are so many options here. You can walk along the Niagara Parkway from Table Rock Centre through Queen Victoria Park. The views constantly change and the walk provides some of the best photo opportunities. You can opt for the Journey Behind the Falls to stand in tunnels carved behind the rushing water, or take the cruise -- which I strongly recommend. A ride on Hornblower Niagara Cruises is one of the most memorable experiences in Niagara Falls. The provided poncho helps, but you should still expect to get drenched on any exposed areas as the boat approaches the base of falls. It felt like a monsoon! Also, be prepared for substantial parking charges. $30 for 30 minutes -- outrageous! I also suggest making time to see the falls after dark. The nightly illumination creates an entirely different experience, and on fireworks nights (around 10 p.m. beginning in May) it is quite the spectacle. Bring a light jacket or sweater even during summer. The constant mist and evening breezes near the falls can make temperatures feel noticeably cooler than elsewhere in the city. And drive north along the Niagara Parkway toward Niagara-on-the-Lake if time allows. The route follows the river through attractive landscapes and historic sites.
