The Screaming Tunnel is a small limestone tunnel, running underneath what once was the Grand Trunk Railway lines (now the Canadian National Railways) located in Niagara Falls, Ontario. The tunnel was constructed in the early 1900's.
There are different variations of what happened but one urban legend has it that a young girl was running away from her deranged father who burnt her to death inside the tunnel. Another variation is that she was running from her farmhouse while on fire and perished inside the tunnel. So, they say that at midnight if you light a match in the middle of the tunnel and blow it out, you will hear the girl scream.
I have been to the Screaming Tunnel a few times and I haven't lit a match at midnight to see if the little girl screams but it seems like a really creepy place imo. It's located at the end of Warner Rd in Niagara Falls, Ontario and it will be on your right hand side. If you have ever driven on Warner Rd once it gets dark, there are no lights on that particular street, so essentially it's pitch black. So if you do plan to visit remember to bring a flashlight along with a match. read more
