It travels between two points on the Canadian shore, but will actually take you across the international border between Canada and the United States a total of four times. The ride is kind of short for the price, and during peak/busy times, the wait probably isn't worth it, just to see the pool for directly above. You are able to go to the sides of the overlook and look for free, so if you're on a budget that is a viable option to save a few bucks.

I "Love" this mural! This mural is by Casey Milbrand, the same artist who produced the "Greetings…read morefrom Buffalo" mural downtown and the "Looking Good" mural on Hertel Avenue. This beautiful mural boasts a rainbow of color along the building on 1st St in Niagara Falls, featuring a pattern of hearts and the phrase "Let's Fall In Love." This is probably his best mural yet. I love the gorgeous array of soft color and how the entire thing spans half way down the block. I brought my dog here to take pictures for her instagram (is that not the most millennial sentence ever?) and it's so big that you could take photos in multiple spots and get a good variety of different background. This mural is only a few blocks from Niagara Falls State Park, so definitely worth checking out!

Located off Goat Island upstream of Horseshoe Falls, this group actually consists of four small…read moreislands. The three largest were named after the daughter of General Parkhurst Whitney (Asenath, Angeline, and Celinda Eliza), and the fourth is referred to as Little Brother Island or Solon. The three larger islands can be accessed via footbridges from Goat Island; the path to the bridge is located near the Terrapin Point Viewing Area. Like a peaceful oasis, the islands feature picturesque stone walkways and cheerful foliage while giving visitors a unique perspective of the Upper Falls area.

Located close to the GO Station along a revitalized Queen Street just north of Clifton Hill and without one tacky t-shirt shop in sight, this part of Niagara Falls seems like an entirely different city. Here the art galleries, antique shops, restaurants, clubs and Balzac's Coffee Shop, are all found in renovated historic buildings. Also, throughout the year Queen Street hosts several events with live music including the Day of Elvis and the annual Springlicious Festival.

Several little art galleries with interesting work (mostly realism but skillful), neat little places to eat, an old-fashioned restaurant that hasn't changed since the 1960s. An Aboriginal art gallery where you can both buy art AND try your hand at making your own in workshops that are reasonably priced (soapstone carving, dream catcher making, beading etc). Plus really friendly shop owners. We spent three hours there just browsing in the shops and talking to artists/owners.
