tried an e-bike for the first time at Pedego Bakersfield and I genuinely did not expect to love it…read moreas much as I did. the staff walked me through everything before I took off, no pressure, no rushing, just actually helpful. they matched me with the right bike for what I wanted to do and made sure I was comfortable before I left. that kind of attention makes a real difference when you're trying something new. the bikes themselves are so fun. the pedal assist is a game changer if you haven't experienced it, you're still pedaling and getting the workout but the hills don't destroy you. I covered way more ground than I would have on a regular bike and honestly had a blast doing it. it's a Wednesday through weekend operation so plan around that but the hours they do have are solid. the Bakersfield location is easy to find and the whole rental process was smooth start to finish. if you're passing through Bakersfield or live there and have been curious about e-bikes, this is the place to try one with zero commitment. I came back the next day and rented again which is the most honest review I can give. really fun experience and great people running it.

We are old, and it's been a long, long time since we've been on bikes. We did not rent them as my wife felt she needed to up her basic bike skills first. Back to today. We arrived at our our scheduled rental time and were again greeted by Dave. Super friendly, super patient, super easy to work with. He reviewed the bike operation again, set us up with helmets and locks. Explained where to ride and what to do. I thought the rentals were reasonably priced, the bikes are in great shape we had a ball. A long-winded way of saying this place and the staff are great, and it's a very fun outing. If/when we're in the market for an e-bike I'd seriously consider purchasing here just based on service received. Until then, we plan on some more rental rides!

I brought my bicycle here when the derailer fell off and the brakes stopped working right. When I…read moredropped it off on Sunday afternoon around 1:30 they said it would be ready on Tuesday. I told them at the service department that the bike would not shift gears going up, that the shifter only worked right when downshifting. Imagine my surprise when they text me less than three hours later saying my bike is ready. It seemed OK, they asked me to ride it in the parking lot. It was 5:50, and they closed in ten minutes. The bike shifted OK for a couple of cycles up and down. As much as I was happy to get the bicycle back the same day, I was not happy after riding it several time and from gears five thru eight still trouble upshifting. I truly wish they had kept the bike until Tuesday, maybe the bike would shift properly. I did not need to get my bicycle back fast as much as I needed to get my bicycle back FIXED.

I own a trek bike for about a year and would like to bring it into Trek store to do some check-up…read moreand maintenance on. Upon entering with my bike, I was greeted immediately and received fast service. Since in February they had a maintenance discount event, I let them know I would like to do a maintenance (tune up & clean) package priced at approx. $150 (with discount). After they performed a quick inspection, I was told that my bike was in perfect condition and do not need any kind of tune-up. They said if I really want to I can opt for the clean-up option which is around $40. I agreed to it because I didn't clean my bike at all for that past year, and they said it includes greasing the chains and checking the tension which is great. At this point I already felt how honest they are doing business, since they can easily proceed with my original plan of the $150 maintenance package. When I go pick up (which the cleaning was done in a very reasonable time), I was told that they did the service free of charge. I couldn't believe that I received my bike, looking brand new, without paying. I feel that they went extra miles to satisfy a customer and it's a great way of doing business. Now I will always return to Trek Sunnyside no matter what kind of service I'll need for my bike, and my family's bikes. I would like to say that the new store manager (I believe his name is John) has provided me with exceptional services. He just moved from southern California to Fresno to help manage Trek Sunnyside and I feel that he did a tremendous job! He is super helpful and honest, and answered all my questions, helped me set up account with Trek. Among all our conversation I feel that he's very professional, helpful, welcoming and very genuine person. I will definitely keep returning to Trek Sunnyside for their great services. I do wish that they carry more selections of bike clothing and shoes. They do have a decent selection of bike accessories though.

I arrive at his location and the closed sign is posted. I called him and he stated that he left to run errands. I leave and he calls me in the afternoon to arrange another meeting for later that day and I tell him that I am unable to meet. So we arrange a meeting for Thursday at 9 am. 2nd Meeting-Thursday 9 am-I arrive and the closed sign is posted. I call Steve and he does not answer. I leave a voicemail and wait 15 minutes. After this, I leave. I live in another city and went to this business because it was the closest location. His absence during his so-called open hours is very unprofessional, upsetting, and a waste of my time and gas.

I noticed that they had a 44 in stock and called them up to confirm. I told them that I was willing to make the 3 1/2 hour drive to purchase the bike and asked if they would be so kind as not to sell it before I got there. They told me no problem!! Next day drove out to Fresno to purchase the bike. The sales person was extremely friendly and helpful. They adjusted the bike to fit me, cut down the seat, and brought in the brake handle a bit for better reach. Chatted with Rich while my bike was being adjusted, he was so nice and helpful. I highly recommend this bike shop, even if you have to drive far to get there!!!
