The ales crafted here are top notch and carbonation is appropriate to allow the malt and hop flavor to come through.

The food is usually good... although sometimes you can tell it's been sitting for awhile and the employees are usually VERY young with little experience and no customer service skills, but I'm willing to cut them a break... until now. Walk in with 2 people and 2 people are in front of us. No employee can be found and there aren't even enough pretzels made for each of us to have one. After about 1 minute a young red headed girl peeks her head around the corner from the back while eating something. She immediately puts whatever she was eating down and proceeds to lick and suck each of her left fingers except for her thumb. She then starts to walk out to greet us and wipes her nose on the backside of her hand. I'm thinking "Wow I've only ever seen this on those reality TV shows with hidden cameras." She goes directly to helping the customers in front of us without EVER washing her hands! We immediately turned around and walked off. I decided to look back just to see if she would actually serve them without washing her hands and sure enough she went right to it. Needless to say we will NEVER be buying pretzels from this location again. And a call to the Health Inspector might be in order.

I was seated immediately and within 5-10 minutes my order was taken. Things were looking good. Got my drink order a few minutes afterwards. During my wait 2 larger groups showed up and 1 person who came in by themselves. 20-25 minutes pass and I notice these folks who came in 20 minutes after I came in already had their food. The waitress tells me she some how lost my order. I didn't see her again after 10 minutes. I walk up to the host and request to just pay for my drink. She asked if I was sure and I just didn't feel welcomed at all. She went to check with someone and told me I didn't need to pay. I just wanted to be treated with the same respect other patrons received. I wasn't expecting my afternoon to be ruined like that. They will never receive any future business from me.

I was hoping that, in their new place, they'd expand the menu. Beef rouladen, sauerbraten, maybe a roast pork with potatoes and sauerkraut, Zigeunerschnitzel, some other choices would be nice. But what they have is always great. The grocery shop up front has some great european (mostly German) choices.

If not for seeing the governor tweet about this place, I might not have known. What a shame that would've been. Snugged up against the banks of the Neosho, Riverbank Brewing is bringing solid craft beer and a great gathering destination to small town Kansas. A reclaimed building, replete with broken walls outside, houses a small brewing facility and spacious tasting room. Not a beer drinker? No worries, because Riverbank has you covered for craft cocktails, plenty of wine, and non-alcoholic choices. But if you *are* here for the beer, just know that Riverbank is dabbling in the lab and getting it done RIGHT. I sampled a kölsch called 'Thrill Hills' and picked up an IPA for the Mrs. called 'Kenny Gregory's Vertical'. If ya ain't familiar with Kenny Gregory, look him up. The kid had hops, and so does this beer. I also had a pint of the blonde ale 'Yeah Girl', a wheat-y ale with a strawberry kicker, not too fruity and sensational on the back end. The brewmasters of Riverbank clearly know their way around malt, yeast, & hops and their execution in the tasting room has equal game. There are food options, but it's not a full kitchen. Want to bring your doggo? Riverbank Brewing is dog-friendly inside and out! We loved the opportunity to enjoy a beer on a great day in a great place without having to worry about where to put our dog. Patio seating gives shade for warm weather and heat lamps when it's chilly. It's small town Kansas bringing a big city amenity with all the comfort that Midwestern hospitality is known for!

My one complaint is that I wish they had regular bottled beer such as coors ultra and Busch. I would visit much more often if they had light bottled/canned beers!

Then they add a 2nd pizza dough on top with red sauce, cubed pep, fresh mozz, and double-sweet pepper bacon. The cheese was stretchy, the meats complemented each other very well, and I can see why it's called The Itis. Definitely need a nap after this. We also got the Garlic Cheesy Brea,d which is roasted garlic oil on homemade dough, and smothered with mozz with a side of their house-made red sauce. Again, a very nice cheese pull, good flavor all around, especially the red sauce. I did get one of their seasonal sour beers, which was blackberry flavored. It was nice, refreshing, and sour! Wish I could have taken some home to WA! A fun place with LOTS of TV's for watching sports. Plenty of seating for any size party. They have decent parking as well.
