My first time in Council Grove for many many years and so noticed a brewery toward the east end of Main Street as I drove into town. Greeted by friendly staff. When I asked about food, server not d they do not have full meals and told me where in town I might find supper. However, I wanted to try the beer so got a flight to sample. Very good! After sitting and drinking a while I got a little hungry so decided to try the "puff pretzels," homemade in town. Antonio, the outstanding host, recommended them. These are straight shapes and tasty as well. I checked one of the brewery's social pages and see they often sponsor special events. Some held on the outdoor patio (too hot to sit out there tonight.) Unfortunately it's not likely I will be able to come back here soon, but I found it a friendly and refreshing place to stop on a hot Friday evening in June! P.S. it looks like many locals like to come here to celebrate the end of their lives Oelwein week.

Newly opened brewery. Beers are great and so is the atmosphere. Limited menu of food items but they are good. Outdoor patio with TVs and a awesome view of the river.

We (DH…read moreand I) had the Shandy and the amber ale (we can't remember the names) and they were both really good. The bar was busy (it was a Friday night) but well staffed so we didn't have to wait. The food is food hall style where you go to a counter (there are two) and place your order then pick it up when it's prepared. We went to The Mill (pizza, calzones and salads). I had the Italian Chopped Salad and the flavors were spot on; DH had the Greek Salad with chicken and really liked it, too. Be aware, it's a loud, noisy hall; that's the only thing that I'd prefer was different. We will go again when we go thru Junction City.

What I ordered was out of this world and it was called a Bacon Brew Burger (this burger is the dish that this brewery is known for). The burger consisted of cheddar, crispy onion, ale mustard, and what threw me off for a nice surprise was the bacon-onion jam. Ahhhh man so delicious! On the other hand, I got to sample a new brew that they just released (totally forgot what it was called) and the beer was just as tasty as the burger I had. Anyways, the vibes of this restaurant were nice and the layout is open. You definitely feel comfortable and at home being here. The service was absolutely excellent as well - it was as if I was hanging out with friends back at home! If I'm back in the area I know where I'm going to have lunch again :) thank you so much ya'll

The taproom was lively and a bit chaotic. I was completely caught off guard by the night's entertainment. Line dancing. Yes. I have never seen so many short skirts and cowboy boots in one place. I spent the evening focused on my beer and my laptop to avoid a pretty blonde confronting me for staring. With that said, it was a cheerful kind of energy and everyone was having a grand time. The crowd was upbeat, the music was loud and cheery and was able to soak in the atmosphere and write a few Yelp reviews. And after two tasty brews, I headed back out to the campervan where I ended up undisturbed with a restful night. You can't hear the inside outside and that's a good thing. I had their special ( bierocks) with their fresh cut fries and a side of fried pickle spears. The bierock was good and tasty for me the meat could have had a little more seasoning but I understand it needs to fit all palates. A little pepper got it my taste lol. Fresh cut fries were good and the fried pickles were good. Wished they had a half order since I got it with my meal lol. The staff was awesome Key and Jessie made sure I never ran low on my drink and kept up with all the beers needing drawn. They have plenty of TVs and a large dance floor which I'm going to guess gets busy over the weekends. I'm going to enjoy going back

Eric R. and I talked about a day trip on a Sunday, but alas, Three Rings is not open on Sundays. Eric R. had the Storm the Castle bike race this past Saturday, so I agreed to join him in McPherson for the weekend so I could specifically go here! I first discovered Three Rings at Manhattan's Brew at the Zoo, which I went to every year until COVID. After that, it moved from August to later in the Fall and I am never here for it. I am not sure exactly when I first tried it, but my notes from the 2019 event show that Three Rings' Wanderlust was a favorite. I purchased cans of Wanderlust ever since, but there was a shortage in the past year and after going to six liquor stores, I had to get it in Lawrence an hour and a half away! I cannot remember when this was, but the owner and his dad came to lead an event at JP's in the K-State Union for beer and food pairings. It was so fun. Finally I get here and Eric R.'s race registration came with a free beer. The very awesome staff said we could do a flight of 5, but we wanted to try 6, and she was still cool with that! So we tried six beers: Fields of Gold (wheat), Yankee Rose (blonde), Wanderlust (red), Vertigo (IPA), Bulldog (oatmeal stout), and Acres Wild (farmhouse ale/saison). We loved talking with everyone at the bar, both next to us and behind the bar. We chatted with the owner/brewer, and another staff member who also has a creative writing background. Numerous people there were Texans like us, and we had a lot of area connections. A food truck outside was closing and brought us free fries, which was an unexpected bonus! We bought 3 6-packs: Wanderlust, Acres Wild, and Broadsword (dark Scotch ale). On the way out was an afternoon farmers market where we bought freshly picked green beans to make for dinner that night. It was a perfect place to hang out and I definitely want to return! Also, we learned there is no "fear" in McPherson and to just call it MacTown!
