Wonderful local cafe on the common. I had the curry tuna sandwich and partner had the burger. We shared some polenta fries. Everything was delicious. The curry tuna sandwich had sauerkraut and greens on a toasted ciabatta roll. The burger was a double patty with cheese, pickles and greens on a toasted ciabatta roll. The food is mostly really good, especially their salads and their nachos. They are knowledgeable about gluten-free, which is really helpful if anyone in your party has food allergies. Staff is friendly, and it's nice that the place is spacious and no one rushes you out. The food is relatively quick, so it is not a long wait if you're hungry. It's a great meet-up spot if you want time to hang with people after you eat. Great windows for soaking in the view, too. A few caveats: -- They charge 3% extra if you pay with a credit card. So, bring cash! -- They run the AC too cold in the summer -- not uncommon for a restaurant. Unless you like it really cold, bring a sweater, even in the summer! -- The pulled pork, at least the time I got it, was exceptionally peppery. I don't mean hot peppery but black pepper. Wow is not the right adjective, but pretty damn close. I am in town for a couple days. Found a nice air bnb up the road which gives me one hour drive access to Bolton, Jay, and Cannon. Anyways, came back from Jay tonight and needed dinner and even though I stopped at the gas station/mart down the road and grabbed a sandwich I still felt I needed dinner (saving the sandwich for tomorrow.) Popped in and knew this was the right decision. Missed the special menu but the pesto flatbread sounded good. I went with the pot roast dinner which was phenomenal. Fell apart with a fork, vegetables were cooked spot on, and think they were deep fried mashed potatoes? That or panko covered. Ether way they were like cheese balls that were yummy. Service was excellent. The cashier had the best cheerful smile and attitude. She also served and bused the tables so she was always asking everyone one everything was. Place is inviting, I can only imagine what the vibe is in the morning when they serve breakfast. Probably will pop in when I head out of town to fuel up for the ride home. This place is definitely worth the stop not only because of what I wrote but because it's a local business and you should avoid the quick fast meal spots. read more

This is a new favorite destination, we drive an hour to get here! The place is clean and has a fun atmosphere with local artisan treasures! We stopped in Danville looking for a Vietnamese restaurant my wife has heard about and walked into Three Ponds to ask for directions, which is weird going into a restaurant to ask where another restaurant is. They were very friendly and pointed out where it was, but it was closed. Since Three Ponds looked very nice we decided to order some food. Liz ordered a BLT on Gluten Free bread because she's Gluten sensitive and I ordered a Chicken Caesar wrap. We added a full order of fries to go with them. The bottom line, on top of how friendly and helpful the staff was, the food was excellent. Our only regret was that we got a whole order of fries when a side order would have been plenty. I've lived in the Northeast Kingdom for two years after relocating from California. I don't know how I didn't find this place sooner, but Sunday brunch here has been the best food I've had in Vermont or New Hampshire. Such a cute and delicious stop if you're in the area! The location is fantastic, there's an bridge across the way, and a bike path nearby. They have great decor and they played some nice oldies music. I came with my family on a weekend afternoon for lunch. My husband had the The kale and bacon salad which was wonderful. They use baby kale which us a nice choice since it's more tender. He Added chicken and it was fried and seasoned perfectly. The Frittata special was excellent, and the sweet potatoes were a flavorful addition. The Chicken vegetable soup and chili were both great. This year was our second visit to Three Ponds for our "goodbye breakfast" after our family get-together on fair weekend. The fact that we came back this year should provide some indication that the food is good. Our first year was a bit of a challenge. We overwhelmed them on a Sunday morning with a group of about 15, which they were not able to easily accommodate. For a small little breakfast joint on Joe's Pond, I don't blame them for this. We ended up in a little covered pop-up on picnic tables outside in the chilly, misting rain. Because of this the food didn't stay very hot, and it was a challenge for wait staff. This year, they had added some outdoor seating to the front of the building to increase their service space. It was still a struggle to accommodate our crowd of 15 or so, but it went much smoother than last year. The waitstaff was very pleasant and they did the best they could to seat as much of the group as possible and rearranged a bit to fit us all in. The food is very simple and tasty. The omelettes were light and fluffy. The dishes all had a good flavor and were filling and satisfying. The bottomless coffee inside was very good as well. My biggest advice is if you are going to go during the summer season when the camps at the pond are packed or during leaf-peeper season, either come early or bring some patience and prepare to wait. Its Vermont, so no one is in a huge hurry and the tables take a bit of time to turnover. While you wait, check out the Joe's Pond Craft Shop and Walden General Store next door. The craft shop has a great selection of local artisan wares. I make it a point to get Christmas gifts and ornaments there every trip now. If you are staying at the pond, the General Store has all of the items you probably forgot to pack. Both are a great way to pass the time waiting for the great breakfast or lunch next door. read more

There was a bit of a wait on Saturday around 10 but it was sooooo worth it. It for less busy around 10:30/10:45. The eggs Benedict special was excellent- loved the hollandaise and the potatoes were very well seasoned. Fantastic food and service! The daily special was delicious. Today's was a Pastrami Melt. Super good. The fries were the perfect mix of crunch and salt. Anna, our server, was really nice and had a good sense of humor. My kids had breakfast for lunch and both orders were well received. The boring sounding Yogurt and Granola was superb; it has a blueberry compote, Greek yogurt, what seemed like homemade granola and a nice little pot of maple syrup. Yummy! This restaurant has been open for one year - breakfast and lunch only. In the past 3 weeks, they have started dinner service. Same limited lunch menu with 5 or 6 specials. Our girls had flat bread - made to order for them - perfect. My wife had a cheesesteak sandwich with a wonderful salad. I had the one meal that was not the greatest - Chicken Pot Pie. Not my favorite the way it was made - the crust was great, the contents was more like a purée? Great salad. Shame they have no AC - kind of warm in late July. Great bar! read more
