Needing the shower to be barrier free for a handicapped household member, he devised the proper change to floor joists that allowed proper drainage without any entry barriers. We have had Ben work on two big projects in our 1916 home. In 2012, he installed new subflooring and ceramic tile in our large bathroom after a flood required a total tear out He also refinished an original fir floor that was covered in 80 years of layers! The blonde wood floor is amazing, he even matched and created moldings that match the rest of the period woodwork in our home. We were very impressed with Ben's work, and chose him to do our kitchen remodel in January 2014 The project included three rooms (HUGE kitchen, dining room, mudroom) and required working around A LOT of quirky design features of the old house. In addition to all of the foibles of the house itself, we asked Ben to create a kitchen that would match the unique and quirky style of US! WOW! What an undertaking that was! On top of that, the whole project was being funded through a family trust, which attached all kinds of emotional baggage. Ben was a great sport and came up with many creative solutions and made our kitchen look lovely, and full of charm and character. The project included taking two of the rooms down to the studs and starting from scratch, as well as creating a checker board floor with "click marmoluem", extensive tile work (including a custom mosaic!) and replacing outdated electric and plumbing. I think Ben is an ethical, thoughtful, skilled professional. We were %100 comfortable handing him the keys to our house and moving out for a month, while he worked- he even checked in with our kitty! We plan to hire him when we make over our second floor!

But it's all perfectly re-assembled now. I liked him so much I cancelled the other quotes I had scheduled and told him immediately that I wanted to work with him if we could keep within our budget. He ended up giving me a quote on the spot and we scheduled our service immediately. He's a busy guy so we had to wait a few weeks, but as the saying goes... "the best things come to those whom wait." He arrived on time every day with his partner Jeremy. The two of them worked super hard and even accommodated some changes on the fly.
