Hidden Beer Garden for the layed back client…read more This place is cool, i mean i lived around the corner and sometime you would spend all night there and other just a warm up for the night but either way a cool joint. Good music and a very hipster-esk clientel means its a very relaxed environment and for a smoker like me HEAVEN. They make a mean pizza and the cocktail jugs are a good price and decent. the toilets however were too small and the line a mile long but that was updated recently which is good. it needs a few other things but its a new cool layed back Been Garden which works well. P.s Bring back the Shisha guys!!!

I had my bday party this year at Holy Grail and adored the venue…read more It seems an unassuming pub from outside, but inside is all plush seating and stylish pressed tin roofs. It;s the kinda place that would suit a 3-4th date, where you still wanna go out in public, but want to be able to sit close and talk. Music is ambient, not crazy loud. They specialise in small pizzas, often running specials and offering foursquare checkin deals etc. In organising the party, they were super helpful in roping off a side section of the bar for me. Some friends overseas had also arranged for a surprise bottle of champagne to be brought out to me, and they handled this beautifully - even writing a card out! Definitely my go-to bar on Chapel.

In fact, they also offer beer, and as can be expected from an establishment such as this one, it isn't going to be rubbish beer either, but some of the best tasting. Yeah, the atmosphere here was nothing short of awesome, and further, they had some great paintings on the wall. My only gripe - the bartender had no idea about them beyond them being pretty pictures.

We always referred to it as "secret bar" and it wasn't until I was actually writing this that I found out it is called jungle boy- a very fitting name indeed! Only being licensed for about 30 people, there can be quite a wait on weekends to get in. Just politely ask whoever is serving the sandwich counter if you can get to the bar, they'll either ask you to wait or open what looks like a fridge door to let you in! It's hilarious on weekends seeing newbies push to the front of the line and obnoxiously ask where the bar is and then be so surprised that there's a while of a wait and that the line out the door is actually not for the subs... -_- The atmosphere in the small bar is awesome, with all the greenery and hanging plants contributing to the great photo ops around the place. There's always interesting people to chat to, regular locals or people who have wanted to try it for so long! Cocktails are made by friendly and helpful staff who are clearly having fun with their job! Of course if you come here you must have the Zombie cocktail served in a tiki glass and flaming lime- perfect to show off to your friends on Yelp , Instagram ect ect! Prices are standard for cocktails around $20 with quite a nice wine list too around $8 for a glass- but if you're in a cocktail bar you may as well have one (or many more) Sort of sad that I have now learnt Boston Subs "secret bar"'s true identity, but I'll still probably be calling it secret bar until it becomes less of a secret - which I really hope it never does!

The decor and drinks are tiki themed. You'll see drinks being lit on fire and everything! They're on the pricey side but it's worth it to come in for at least one. All your senses will be excited.

Has a very weird mixed crowd of people which you never would of thought existed. The venue is very nice looking and plays the exact same music as revolver as they both have the same resident DJs. The rooftop is beautiful but they do close some of it off for functions. The only negative points of the venue are the crowd (essentially the revolver rejects, me being one of them at the time ) and gets very overcrowded being a small venue. Only time I would visit is when everything else is shut as it closes around midday Monday. On the positive super friendly staff and security, great music and nice looking venue.

Or maybe that's because I was in attendance, who knows. The place had a well-stocked bar with everything you could want to drink, an open fire for those winter months, and large, ornate chairs. Sort of like coming home after a long trip away and your housesitter has ever so slightly moved everything around. Atico is cozy, familiar and scrumptious, but not like any other bar in Melbourne either. With a snack menu serviced by their delicious mexican downstairs neighbour, it seems obvious that their enviable cocktail menu would be hinged around tequila. Beef brisket taco was good; Staying to the median price of taco's in Melbourne, and a good serving for the price. Quesdilla's are pretty generous for the serve too; the pulled pork is $14 and pretty darn good. That's all that one wants really; to be sated by what you're eating as opposed to getting the express train to stingy town and having to order another 5 items, or continue on or another 5 stops. I say a little over $28pp and you're probably going to have a good meal that doesn't cost the earth. Both filling and tasty. I'm impressed with the drinks options and would like to come back soon. I'd just like to go here fro drinks really sometime, as it's one of the better finds, and not some seedy dinge-hole. Hopefully though It won't be too busy.
