Good music and a very hipster-esk clientel means its a very relaxed environment and for a smoker like me HEAVEN. They make a mean pizza and the cocktail jugs are a good price and decent. the toilets however were too small and the line a mile long but that was updated recently which is good. it needs a few other things but its a new cool layed back Been Garden which works well. P.s Bring back the Shisha guys!!!

It;s the kinda place that would suit a 3-4th date, where you still wanna go out in public, but want to be able to sit close and talk. Music is ambient, not crazy loud. They specialise in small pizzas, often running specials and offering foursquare checkin deals etc. In organising the party, they were super helpful in roping off a side section of the bar for me. Some friends overseas had also arranged for a surprise bottle of champagne to be brought out to me, and they handled this beautifully - even writing a card out! Definitely my go-to bar on Chapel.

Once inside, the space is very tiny but there's a lot going on. The staff was super helpful in moving people around to help us get seats and they were kind and friendly as well. The decor and drinks are tiki themed. You'll see drinks being lit on fire and everything! They're on the pricey side but it's worth it to come in for at least one. All your senses will be excited.

Only being licensed for about 30 people, there can be quite a wait on weekends to get in. Just politely ask whoever is serving the sandwich counter if you can get to the bar, they'll either ask you to wait or open what looks like a fridge door to let you in! It's hilarious on weekends seeing newbies push to the front of the line and obnoxiously ask where the bar is and then be so surprised that there's a while of a wait and that the line out the door is actually not for the subs... -_- The atmosphere in the small bar is awesome, with all the greenery and hanging plants contributing to the great photo ops around the place. There's always interesting people to chat to, regular locals or people who have wanted to try it for so long! Cocktails are made by friendly and helpful staff who are clearly having fun with their job! Of course if you come here you must have the Zombie cocktail served in a tiki glass and flaming lime- perfect to show off to your friends on Yelp , Instagram ect ect! They host regular Melbourne dj's as well as bringing in some internationals from time to time for their in house events. Circus Bar has recently undergone a hige refurbishment and the results are nothing short of impressive, spread across two levels Circus has the main room downstairs complete with rich red walls, chic circular booths and of course a decent dance floor. Upstairs is the balcony that has been fitted out in a way that resembles the beach bars in Miami. The balcony has a second bar as well as another dj booth and looks out over the top of Chapel Street and Commercial Road. Circus is open Thursday through Sunday and is available for both birthdays and private functions.

Has a very weird mixed crowd of people which you never would of thought existed. The venue is very nice looking and plays the exact same music as revolver as they both have the same resident DJs. The rooftop is beautiful but they do close some of it off for functions. The only negative points of the venue are the crowd (essentially the revolver rejects, me being one of them at the time ) and gets very overcrowded being a small venue. Only time I would visit is when everything else is shut as it closes around midday Monday. On the positive super friendly staff and security, great music and nice looking venue.
