Nice little speakeasy of what Aussie's call hidden bars. Has a tiki bar type of feel, surprisingly has a lot of space. Cocktails were pretty good give it a 4 out of 5. Cocktails had a little more booze than the average Australian cocktail bar but still low on booze compared to the states. Nice vibe inside, funny juxtaposition of Hawaii tiki bar aesthetic mixed with rap music.

They host regular Melbourne dj's as well as bringing in some internationals from time to time for their in house events. Circus Bar has recently undergone a hige refurbishment and the results are nothing short of impressive, spread across two levels Circus has the main room downstairs complete with rich red walls, chic circular booths and of course a decent dance floor. Upstairs is the balcony that has been fitted out in a way that resembles the beach bars in Miami. The balcony has a second bar as well as another dj booth and looks out over the top of Chapel Street and Commercial Road. Circus is open Thursday through Sunday and is available for both birthdays and private functions.

Has a very weird mixed crowd of people which you never would of thought existed. The venue is very nice looking and plays the exact same music as revolver as they both have the same resident DJs. The rooftop is beautiful but they do close some of it off for functions. The only negative points of the venue are the crowd (essentially the revolver rejects, me being one of them at the time ) and gets very overcrowded being a small venue. Only time I would visit is when everything else is shut as it closes around midday Monday. On the positive super friendly staff and security, great music and nice looking venue.

Separated into two equally as stunning lounges, guests may have their choice from either the Red Lounge; which is located at street level with views of both Green and Chapel Streets as well as a licensed outdoor area. Or the Gold Lounge, which is three times as big as the Red Lounge making it perfect for larger functions or events. I love Back Bar as my after work destination when I'm in the mood for a classy, yet quiet chat with the girls whilst enjoying a few vinos. Back Bar offers happy hour every night of the week from 5pm - 7pm giving guests a discount on local beers, basic spirits and cocktails. Perfect! You should also keep an eye on the website, as Back Bar often host Cocktail Master Classes and other fun events, great for corporate functions or birthday celebrations.

It's very elegant and old fashioned, but not in a hipster way. It feels more authentic than that. I popped in for a cheeky drink then popped out again so I didn't explore much, but what I found was just the ticket. Quiet, relaxed, and with a certain air of sophistication. Or maybe that's because I was in attendance, who knows. The place had a well-stocked bar with everything you could want to drink, an open fire for those winter months, and large, ornate chairs. This place is well worth a visit.

It's not down an alley or behind a dumpster, but it 's not the easiest of places to stumble upon either. At the very back and upstairs at the restaurant Fonda, Atico is simultaneously surprising and exactly what you expected. Sort of like coming home after a long trip away and your housesitter has ever so slightly moved everything around. Atico is cozy, familiar and scrumptious, but not like any other bar in Melbourne either. With a snack menu serviced by their delicious mexican downstairs neighbour, it seems obvious that their enviable cocktail menu would be hinged around tequila. Of course, there are other drinks on offer, but when they do it this well, why would you bother?

I went here to eat, as opposed to drink, which is somewhat of a first for me, as I usually end up drinking somewheres' and then forget about the food. Beef brisket taco was good; Staying to the median price of taco's in Melbourne, and a good serving for the price. Quesdilla's are pretty generous for the serve too; the pulled pork is $14 and pretty darn good. That's all that one wants really; to be sated by what you're eating as opposed to getting the express train to stingy town and having to order another 5 items, or continue on or another 5 stops. I say a little over $28pp and you're probably going to have a good meal that doesn't cost the earth. Both filling and tasty. I'm impressed with the drinks options and would like to come back soon. I'd just like to go here fro drinks really sometime, as it's one of the better finds, and not some seedy dinge-hole. Hopefully though It won't be too busy. But I might trip over the masses of hipsters that will undoubtedly be lurking inside. Ace. Oh and it's Windsor Melbourne we're talking about, not NY.

To be honest, this wasn't the best bar that I have visited down here, though I can't say that it was all that bad. The problem is that there are lots of bars on Chapel Street (as you probably all know, particularly if you live in Melbourne) and there isn't anything about this place that made me want to come here above and beyond all of the other choices available. Okay they had comfy seats, but so do many of the others, and they also have a pretty decent happy hour, but once again so did many of the others. I might come back here again, but since there are places I prefer much more, it is unlikely.
