So I heard this place is excellent for cocktails AND coffee, and since I knew I was heading to the farmers market, I figured it was the perfect opportunity to stop in and try one of their coffee hour drinks.
First off, the place is super cute and has such a fun, eclectic vibe. I also love that they make their own syrups!
I tried the banana latte and asked for it half sweet because I want some flavor, but I also believe you should still be able to taste the coffee. It is definitely on the pricier end for a latte, but I'm always willing to pay if it's delicious.
When I first received my banana latte, it came topped with roasted banana and a crumb topping. To my surprise, the menu doesn't mention what the topping contains, and honestly, I didn't even think to ask. I asked the barista what the topping was, and she told me it was graham crackers.
Boy, am I glad I asked! I have celiac disease, so unfortunately I couldn't have the drink as it was made. I let her know, and I honestly felt bad because I should have asked--but at the same time, I do think the menu should clearly indicate what's in the topping, especially when it contains gluten.
Lesson learned for both of us!
Thankfully, they remade the drink for me, and WOW. In hindsight, this was probably the best banana latte I've had in Connecticut.
It's definitely pricey at $11, but for how good it was? I'd say it was worth every penny. I'll definitely be back! read more
