Unfortunately after only 4 days the wife actually only used it once due to discomfort it caused in the hips and elected to return it. To my surprise, they did not refund any of the week of unused time. They did not even offer to refund any money. I was shocked because everyone was so helpful when picking it up. If the product doesn't help, to just take money isn't right. Even rental car companies will only charge for time used. I hope they make a change to their policy because it isn't right. (Minus 3 stars for bad policy) Renter beware.

My mom loved it but there was no pressure at all to eventually purchase the chair (i was originally going to rent it for 2 weeks (which i thought was wonderful to allow someone to do to test it out) but that just didn't work out. We ended up purchasing a manual wheelchair which was delivered to the store for my husband to pick up. i cannot say enough good things about the customer service we received from this establishment & i would definitely go back again :) Kudos to Elisa!!!

The owner of the company, Craig Coogan, came to my apartment late and smelled strongly of alcohol. He was visibly under the influence. My caregiver was going to be off her shift, and I let him know. He aggressively insisted that she put me in the sling, because I weigh 130lbs and that should not have happened. I told him that my next caregiver was on her way to my apartment. He insisted that I should get in my hoyer lift again. While we were waiting for my next caregiver to arrive, he stated that he works with everyone in the Bay Area for Lift and Transfer and has been doing this for 28 years, and then said for 25 years a few minutes later. My next caregiver came in, and I was put in the hoyer lift and raised up as high as I could go. There was nothing underneath me, and my caregiver stated that she wanted me to be in my wheelchair while we discussed options. Craig declined, said I was safe, grabbed the sling, pulled it hard, and shook it back and forth. As a reminder, I had fallen out of the sling because one of the straps came off the hook. He then put his hand on my upper leg close to my vulva and my shoulder without asking for consent. He left it there for roughly 3 minutes. As a disabled woman who cannot physically defend herself, this caused alarm because there was no reason to touch me. Also, because he seemed drunk, I couldn't predict what he was going to do. He would ask my caregiver to adjust the sling and then proceed to do it himself in a rough manner without asking for my consent. He was aggressive when telling my caregiver she was doing it wrong when she stated that she did manual transfers. She stated that we preferred it that way with her, because she can pick me up. If he had come at his scheduled time, then my previous caregiver, who uses the hoyer lift would be able to show him how she uses it. He would not offer different solutions for how my caregiver could transfer me. It got to a point where they got into a verbal argument, and I had to raise my voice at him to tell him that he is not here to discuss this. I was then put back in my wheelchair. My caregiver stated she has another client with a different hoyer lift that might be a better solution. He kept pushing her to tell her who it was because he had been working with everyone for 25 years. She was hesitant to tell him because she did not want to violate client privacy, and then he stated again that he had been working in this company for 28 years. After that, he gave her his card so she could send him a picture of the hoyer lift. Afterwards, he was drawing a map of my room to demonstrate other options for hoyer lifts while my caregiver was doing work around my room. He would not move out of the way when she politely asked him to move multiple times to where she had to squeeze behind him and brush against his body. He would not acknowledge her. When he drew his map of my room, it did not make sense of what he wanted to do. He had this idea of putting the hoyer lift in the ceiling, which I stated I was not comfortable with. He gaslit me by telling me that it was fine and I had to tell him that my ceiling would not be able to hold a hoyer lift with the poorly designed ceiling in my apartment. He then continued by suggesting putting me in a hoyer lift that could put me further down in my bed. When I told him that I would not want that, he then suggested putting me in a hoyer lift where I could park my wheelchair in the hallway. This did not make sense because my staff would not be able to safely get me out of my chair or bypass my wheelchair to get me to the bathroom on my commode chair. His next suggestion was to park my wheelchair facing the wall. This would not make sense because my caregivers would not be able to put the straps from the sling on the hooks safely. I stated that it wouldn't feel safe doing it. He then suggested, again, placing the hoyer lift in the ceiling and parking my wheelchair in the hallway. It had become more obvious that he could not think logically due to being under the influence. Afterwards, I walked him out of my room, where my caregiver was cleaning dishes. He kept talking to her about how she should not be manually lifting me and mumbling that it wasn't safe for her back. He then tried to give her his card again. At this point, I understood that he would not leave without me forcing him to leave. I had to walk him out of my apartment building to make sure that he was out of the building. I did not feel safe until I knew he was out of the building. Not only was I concerned for my safety, but I am still concerned for the clients that he continues to work with.

I'm surprised they are still in business, but if you have a choice of using this provider or going…read moreelsewhere, RUSH to the other vendor. Sweet Medical had a contract with Kaiser Permanente to measure for and deliver custom compression garments for cellulitis and lymphedema. I'm not sure if they still have a relationship with Kaiser but if they do, I can't imagine they will keep it much longer. I dealt with Sandra, the President/Owner for an arm with cellulitis. She seemed very competent and personable. I was promised delivery in 8 weeks. I started calling week 9 and couldn't get a call back. I called 6 times, unable to get any information from "Irma" who answered the phone and never got a call back. After 3 weeks of no response, I finally contacted my Physical Therapist at Kaiser and let her know I would complain to Member Services if I could not get a reply. That day, I get a response from Sweet Medical saying my garments would be available in a few weeks and they would contact me when they were ready. I suspect that they didn't submit the original order on time since it took 8 weeks to deliver from the time I started calling. When I did meet with them to pick up the garments, they took back a garment that didn't fit correctly to be "reworked" and told me it would be mailed to my home. I NEVER got it back. At that time, I was measured for my next garments. I get 2 sets every 6 months and the first order took so long, it was time for the next fitting. I was promised that this would be smooth sailing and I would have the garments in 8 weeks. Week 7, I started calling to see if we were on track but never got a call back. I called and emailed 2x weekly for 5 weeks with no reply. I let my Physical Therapist know and she sent me to another vendor. These goods are extremely expensive (about $600 for a sleeve and glove) so you'd expect good customer service. Sweet Medical won't provide it. Although the 2 staff members I've met seem competent and pleasant, they just don't deliver as promised or return phone calls or email. If the possibility of losing the Kaiser contract isn't enough incentive for them to get the job done, what chance do you have of getting them to perform professionally? Don't bother! If you need custom compression garments, choose another vendor who wants and will demonstrate they value your business.

Simply put, extremely disappointing. Friendly if you get a chance to interact with them; otherwise…read moreextremely poor service. Seems they are friendly enough but highly unorganized. Guess I won't get a chance to find out otherwise.   My first experience with them was a simple phone call and message to check on their business hours. I never received a call back. I was able to find their business hours online. Knowing I was running close to their closing time, I called ahead to let them know I would be there shortly. They were very courteous and waited for me to arrive. Service was friendly and after correcting an overcharge of $100 on my order, I walk out happy with the understanding that my order would arrive in 7 to 10 business days.   After 7 days I called and left a message to find out the status of my order. I never got a return call. The next day I went to their office. Knowing they operate from 8:30 AM to 5 PM, I did not arrive until 8:45 AM. The lights were off and no one was inside. I called their number and left another message for them to contact me to let me know the status of my order. Again, I did not get a phone call. On day 9, I called and spoke to them. I was informed that it had been a very busy day and she was sorry she had not yet got to my order. She then checked and informed that 2 of my 3 items were in and they would have to check on the status of the 3rd item. I mentioned that I would be there shortly to get my 2 items and despite being close to closing time she agreed to wait for me. Within a few minutes, I received a call back informing me that the items were not mine, that they were the wrong size. I was informed that they would check on the status of my order the next day. On day 10, I called and as I recall, I just didn't feel comfortable that a message would do any good and yet for some reason held out hope that I may get a call in follow up to the previous day. On day 11 (Monday), I called and spoke to someone who informed me the order would not be in until Thursday. I then requested my order be cancelled and a refund be issued. I was informed the person who processes the refund would not be in until later in the day. On day 12, I called to check the status of my refund and I was informed the order had been cancelled but the refund had not and again, the person who processes the refunds would not be in until 2:30 PM. Meanwhile... I have found the same items for half the price and for 13 dollars more in shipping; I will have my items in 2 days. I'm still waiting for my refund!
