We stopped in for an early lunch and ordered the "Iowa's best tenderloin". It did not disappoint! We also had the home-cut fries - very good. My tenderloin wrap was lovely. The sweet potato puffs were probably a frozen product. The service was first-rate. This is a small-town diner. The chairs and tables are rickety. The ambiance is just plain old. If you are looking for a sweet diner, keep on driving, because Three C's is not it. Upon walking in, you might think you have mistakenly entered someone's living room that has substituted their couch and big screen for greasy tables and chairs. None of the patrons that stared openly at us gave any indication if we were to seat ourselves, or wait for the homeowner. We sat ourselves. We waited. And waited. And looked around at the four other occupied tables. At last, a waitress came out and asked for our drink orders. Soda pop or water. I ordered water with lemon, or as it is called, 'fancy water'. My fancy water and my dining companion's 'plain water' came out, and we placed our order. I had a hamburger, he had the 'famous pork tenderloin sandwich'. While we waited for our orders, a take out order became ready, and we were treated to the lovely smell of truck exhaust; both entrances open right into the parking lot. I must admit, our server was very cheery and friendly, our food, once it came out, was hot. My hamburger was super boring, but my french fries were fresh, and seriously, who can be upset when the fries are hot? The pork tenderloin was probably as big as someone's head, had someone let me take measurements. My fellow diners did not appreciate asking after their head circumference. Some people. I went to the bathroom to wash my hands and thought I might have accidentally been transported into an airline bathroom. Extremely tiny. Upon exiting, imagine my bewilderment upon finding myself in the line to order food. Did I mention this place is small? I found myself still wanting french fries two hours later, as the diner smell really sticks with you. You have to shower like Meryl Streep in Silkwood to remove the grease; however, I'd probably go again, mainly because of the nice server and the hot french fries. read more

We came to Three C's Diner today while trying to complete the Iowa Pork Producers Tenderloin Trail. This was our sixth stop along the trail and we've really had a good time sampling some of Iowa's finest pork tenderloins! We arrived in a busy Corning late this morning but were happy to see there wasn't a big crowd waiting to get in at Three C's. We walked in to what I could a typical small town Iowa eatery - nothing fancy here, which almost always equates to really good food. They have your basic menu, including a full ice cream menu and have a special for the day. The prices are quite good. Two of us ate for under $25 for two sandwiches, a malt and two sodas. As I mentioned, we came for the tenderloins. I got a breaded one and my dad ordered the grilled version. These are some GREAT tenderloins? They're pretty thick, juicy and delicious so make sure you come hungry! The raspberry malt was great! The menu has salads, hamburgers, tenderloins, ice cream and all the typical food you'd find at a small town eatery. Don't quote me on this but I believe they serve breakfast as well. The service was friendly as to be expected. Our waitress was attentive and professional, not to mention very polite. We highly recommend Three C's Diner. Don't expect to be blown away by the atmosphere of the restaurant but expect the food to be REALLY good! read more

The breaded pork loin sandwich was quite tasty! The pork was nice and tender and juicy. The rosemary fries were good, but really weren't all that different from normal fries, but they were definitely cooked perfectly and nice and crunchy. Having the kids menu at half price Tuesday and Thursday evenings was nice since we were passing through on a Thursday! read more

Three C's Diner is one of the best diners I've ever been too. I was very impressed with their menu and the food was delicious. They had everything you'd want and more. The service was on point. Didn't have to wait for menus, the servers were right there if you ever needed anything, and they would come and check up on you just to make sure everything's ok. They were friendly, knew the menu, and didn't hover. I'm glad I was able to experience this place. Can't wait to come back! read more

If you like pork tenderloin sandwiches you will love three c. We try them all over ne and ia and cook our own at home. None of the previous samples prepared us for this exceptional treat. A huge lightly breaded piece of pork extending beyond a large soft flavorful white bun. This is sandwich paradise. The staff very helpful and quick to respond. The facility is small perhaps 7 or 8 tables and outdoor tables. Steady carryout business. This place is easy to miss, but DON'T! Wife and I decided to split the renowned tenderloin (acclaimed by some as Iowa's best). It was brought already cut in half in two baskets for our sharing convenience. Nice touch! It is big enough for 2 buns, and is delicious! Good breading, and not a trace of fat or gristle. Thicker than many, too, which I liked. Trading the common platter size for a little thicker piece seems like a good choice. Even then, it was more than the two of us could finish, with the accompanying onion rings (also good). So we left filled, and with enough in the go box for another small sandwich. Cost for the sandwich with rings...$7.99. Crazy value, and delicious! read more

Great little diner. The pulled pork is delicious. The sauces are good. The patty melt was excellent, too!

We came in with 15 people and a dog. We sat on the patio. Everyone enjoyed their food. Portions were large and prices were reasonable. Food is ordered inside at the counter and comes out individually as soon as it is ready so we were not all eating at the same time. The service was good and friendly. I do not know about this places food since we never received any sort of service or acknowledgement. We went in, sat down for breakfast and it was not busy. Two tables when we got there. Two tables that came after us got their drinks and food (both which complained their order came out wrong) and the people working were cleaning off the tables of the people that left. Checked the tables behind us and in front of us asking how their food was and didn't say a word to us. So we walked out. We are not from this area and sadly this is the only place in town for breakfast that we could find online..... most likely the only reason they get business or they get business from the locals that always go there. Shame. Save yourself the hassle and go to caseys gas station and get some food! They also saw us walking out and didn't even try or say anything. Definitely will not recommend nor go back. Told my family that's from here what happened and they said the same thing happened to them last time, yet they ordered their food, waited an hour and their food never came, so they left. Staff didn't say sorry or tell them about their order. Save yourself and don't go here. It takes a lot for me to write such a negative review but I felt this was necessary. read more

Exceptional food! We dined at another up-scale steak house in Des Moines two nights prior to our dinner at the Three C's Diner. The steak at Three C's was larger, more flavorful and cost about 1/2 of that served in the Des Moines restaurant! The grilled tenderloin was also the best I've ever had.
