I want to like this place really I do... Its design is Americana right down to the 50's rockabilly soundtrack. The service is friendly, cheerful and welcoming. Booth seating is comfortable... But at some point you have to eat the food and that's where the wheels come off the pink Cadillac. I ordered a simple plate of scrambled eggs, bacon, home fries and "indulged" my love for pancakes with one. The overall flavor profile goals here appear to be bland as inspiration. No flavor, no effort beyond putting foodstuffs on a grill. The potatoes are sliced thin then they must be piled high in a corner of the grill waiting their turn to be consumed. Would it hurt to dice an onion or bell pepper to give your peeled russets some flavor besides oil? The pancake? Let's just say, Smuckers syrup in sealed plastic tubs like you were getting them at McDonald's or some fast food joint. Gross. The cakes themselves are lumps of glutenous goo that somehow have even less flavor than the bland home fries. This is a place that values quantity over quality, period. If you are a member of the "Clean Plate Club," you will leave with a full stomach of calorie containing food like substance. As a self-appointed American style diner lover, I have to say, steer clear. If you are in this area looking for breakfast and your only other choice the sad Michaels diner in Douglassville, this is marginally better but you will probably be just as happy if you go to Wawa for breakfast. This morning I went to 3 cousins and sat in the back. A family with 3 young kids came in and sat across from us. one of the children was autistic and making noise but not disturbing anyone. I have experience with autistic children and he was perfectly well behaved he was just making sounds. The family was only seated for 10 minutes before they were confronted by the owner and hostess and asked to leave because of the disabled child's sounds being "disturbing" to other patrons. I can say will full confidence they were not disturbing us and we were seated directly across from them. This was discriminatory and disturbing. I have never experienced such disrespect in my life. The family was forced to take their food to go. I frequently come to three cousins but I will not be returning to this diner. This was a terrible thing to witness. very sad. read more

Breakfast is very good here and the staff is very nice. We have eaten here 3 times and haven't had a single bad meal. Their omelets are thoroughly cooked and their hashbrowns are delicious. Highly recommend. read more

Went to breakfast yesterday for the first time, and I was pleased with this diner. The restaurant was clean amd bright. Was crowded but was seated right away. Had to wait about 15 minutes for a server to give me a menu and bring me coffee, and they seemed short staffed. My server finally came and was nice but was super rushed and appeared to be waiting on more tables that one person can manage. Another table who was seated right before me seemed to be growing impatient with the server, who was doing her best. Food finally came and it was very good. Portion size was generous and my meal was reasonably priced. My only complaint is that my server seemed stressed and should have had more help, but this was no fault of my server and management should have been jumping in and helping. Will definitely make a return visit and will be trying their lunch menu. read more

Customer Beware. Met my wife for a quick workday lunch at Three Cousins Diner in Pottstown last week. It was our first time visiting the establishment. I'm a Medicare physician and she's a medical laboratory scientist at the nearby medical center so we were both "on call" during our lunch hour. As our food and drinks were served, I received a call for a patient issue that needed to be addressed immediately. We apologized to the waitress for our quick about-face and asked for take out containers for our untouched sandwiches and drinks. She brought 2 containers for our food but informed us that they were under new ownership/management and the new team had just announced a "policy" that soft drinks would be unavailable for take out. Confused, I explained that the drinks were not refills and were the original service for both of us. She set out to clarify the policy with one of the new owners and I heard her state rather loudly and curtly in response to the waitress' query, " Absolutely not!" When the waitress returned to our table, she profusely apologized for the owner's response and said she was totally embarrassed by the recent policy changes decreed by the management team. I mean find me another food establishment in Pottstown that won't allow you take your paid-for drink with you as you leave. As we stood to exit, the young waitress leaned in and said that we should address our displeasure to the woman she had just spoken with. At the front booth next to the cash register sat a group of what I assumed were the four new owners with laptops and tablets in hand... no doubt devising some new, nonsensical and customer-offending policies as we approached the counter to settle our tab. As I explained the situation to the group, they sarcastically dismissed my concerns with a blatantly insincere, "Thank you for your imput we'll certainly take it under advisement," while doing absolutely nothing to actually address and remedy my immediate issue. It's like get me a take out cup so I can drink the diet coke for which I just paid $2.75. It's not a refill, it's THE original drink. Charge me a dime for the Styrofoam cup if you'd like. At that point an older mustachioed man in the group stood up from the booth and got directly in my face, glowering as if he were about to attack me. Literally. Keep in mind, my wife is in lab scrubs and I'm in shirt and tie and we're both wearing our work-credential lanyards. As I turned to leave, I could see the small ownership cabal snickering amongst themselves with smug satisfaction at having put an ungrateful customer in his place. As we walked out, the older gentleman told us to never return. Right-o good sir. My sentiments exactly. I turned to the wait staff as I was closing the door and warned that "if this is how they treat paying customers, god knows what they're capable of doing to you. They write your checks." I have since learned that the diner at that location has a troubled past and has had several ownership/name changes over a very short period. The residents of Pottstown deserve much better than this rag-tag cabal dispensing ill-considered and poorly-reasoned edicts from "On High" with no regard to true customer service at a time when discretionary money is tight and customers have numerous choices on how, when and where to spend their hard-earned entertainment and dining dollars. As for me and my singular experience; I chose to spend mine anywhere but Three Cousins Diner. read more

After seeing they had gotten some better reviews, we tried this place again. We wish we hadn't. You are greeted by a sign on the door telling you that they are short handed and are doing the best they can. The floor around our table was a mess with crumbs and crackers. The waitress was friendly and professional, but after we got our food, we didn't see her again. No offer to refill our drinks and we had to track her down for the check. My veggie burger came with nothing on it. No lettuce, no tomato. It was dry and flavorless. Two people in my party had regular burgers and were very disappointed. One said it was the worst burger he had ever had. Overall it was an unpleasant experience. I am loving all the changes I'm seeing in Pottstown and the new growth. I'll be eating elsewhere. read more

Warm, gooey, and overwhelming Caucasian, this establishment serves breakfast better than a 54-year-old one night stand. Lubed with butter and garnished with thick, sweet syrup, the pancakes slid down my throat like a fat boy slides down a waterslide. The service is not to be neglected either: genial and welcoming, the staff were prompt, attentive, efficient, and not too handsy. I recommend their orange juice, which reminded me of simpler, happier days. The food, overall, told a story. A story of a boy, and a girl, who found love in the strangest of places. I eagerly followed the story like a puppy dog follows the scent of raw beef. Through my western omelette I undoubtedly learned a lot about loving and a little about life. A retro vibe permeated every inch of this lovely place too, from the (sticky) bench to the neon trim. As I go to bed tonight, I'll lie on my recently unstained mattress and dream of the next time I'll get my 9 fingers on those shiny, promising menus. Yours, Barry B. read more

This place was ok. It was a basic diner. The staff were helpful. I believe I ordered the gyro meal but unfortunately I did not care for it. One of the people there with me did not care for her soup. The location did have free parking which was convenient and it was easy to get a seat on a Friday afternoon. It wasn't very crowded which was a plus. read more

I never review places but had to for this one! My hubby and I are breakfast snobs and have tried every area diner/breakfast spot. He loves biscuits and sausage gravy and I love pancakes. We both have struggled finding places that serve them to our liking. With young kids, we also always order it as take out. Recently we tried Three Cousins and it's now our new favorite breakfast place! He ranks their sausage gravy as #1 in the area and I rank their pancakes as #1 in the area as well! So so good! And reasonably priced compared to other area diners! Amazing breakfast food! I can't speak to the service since we also just pick it up or any of the lunch food but it's definitely our go to for breakfast!!! read more

I took my daughter and granddaughters to what I thought was still Pots and Penn. How wonderfully surprising to see such a refreshed exterior and interior and new name - Three Cousins. As pleased as I was with the updates both inside and outside, I was equally impressed with the menu and the delicious food that was served. The wait staff are excellent, the cook even came out to make sure we were happy with our food, the young lady who took our payment was extremely pleasant and helpful. We went to Three Cousins for the first time on Saturday for breakfast. A lot of options with good size portions. The food was very good. I had the meat lovers skillet. Lot of meat and very flavorful. Our waitress, Nicole was incredible. Very attentive, efficient and pleasant. The service she provided was second to none. Thanks to Nicole and the food this was a very pleasant experience. We decided to go out to dinner at this diner because we've always had good service and a good meal. Well not today I ordered the Delmonico steak Med with fries it came with salad if you want to call lettuce two cherry tomatoes little bit of onion and two little slices of cucumber and one slice green pepper a salad my husband ordered the prime rib med mash potatoes and broccoli a cup of chicken soup and he had a salad also my son had the two by four burger fries and calamari they brought my husbands prime rib out well what they tried to pass off as prime rib it looked like their diamond steak it was over cooked meaning not what he ordered mine was also over done and tough as hell couldn't even cut it so we sent ours back when we got the bill it said $42.74 we were like for what a burger 3 sodas and calamari they actually charged us for the soup the 2 salads and the vegetables now mind you this is suppose to come with the meals since we were dissatisfied with our meals why are we paying for something that came with the meal the managers reply was well you know the price of steak has gone up yeah we know this that's why you raised the prices on the menu then his other reply was well you ate the salads and the soup well yeah that's what your suppose to do while your waiting for your meal well 3 Cousins diner you lost 3 customers today because of the lack of management skills your manager has I will make sure everybody in Pottstown knows about this so I hope it was worth charging good hardworking decent people for their salad and cup of soup SHAME ON YOU!!!!
