Update: It is very disturbing that so many people just want to jump on this racism bandwagon. As…read moresomeone who actually witnessed this entire situation the customer that came in after ME was NOT white and the employee Anna was not white. ME was not asked to pay for her service up front, she offered to pay on the way out. And furthermore ME was done wrong by the employee Anna, not the other customers or employees. Other customers and employees told Anna that what she did was wrong. The Lead said Anna leaves one customer to help another customer all the time. Management needs to deal with Anna. Original review: I was present and witnessed the incident involving M.E. at Luxury Spa & Nails. While M.E. described the situation as racist, both customers did not appear to be white, and it appeared to be a customer service issue. What I can say is that several customers and employees spoke up in support of M.E. during the incident and even after M.E. left. From what I observed, the issue was not caused by another customer. A customer simply asked for service, and Cindy, the lead employee, said no. However, Anna left M.E. to help that customer anyway. To be fair, M.E.'s nails were soaking at the time, and Anna may have believed she had enough time to assist someone else. Even so, Cindy repeatedly told Anna not to leave her customer and indicated this was an ongoing issue with Anna. Despite that, Anna continued doing so, which is a customer service problem management should address. I also found it inappropriate that M.E. was required to pay when the service had barely begun. Once she came back in to film she was refunded. My understanding is that the owner or manager, Nathan, was not present. Management should review this incident and address the employee's conduct. For balance, my own experience was positive. Leila gave me a great pedicure and was kind and professional. Cindy was also courteous and appeared to be making a genuine effort to manage a difficult situation. My concerns are specifically about the customer service issues I witnessed that day. Just a little two much drama for a Tuesday morning!!

I called again trying to verify the address because I ended up in the wrong spot. After they got exposed online, they tried to call back and left a message "apologizing" Called back later in the day and the woman that answered insisted I "had it all wrong" and that I "walked off on my service". THE EMPLOYEE PERFORMING MY SERVICE WALKED OFF FIRST AND TRIED TO DO ANOTHER PERSON'S SERVICE THAT CAME AFTER ME! That same employee proceeded to charge me for her bullshit "soak off" that nearly damaged my nails with how long she wanted me to keep them in there!

I've been twice now, and really impressed both times with Jolene for both waxing and facials. She…read morereally knows her stuff, and she really listened to my concerns about my skin and my waxing preferences (I'm kind of a micromanager when it comes to my eyebrows!!) Also, during the facial she also gave me a "mini massage" which was really wonderful. I don't actually live in Albuquerque, but if I did Skin Bliss would definitely by my go-to place. The other reviewer was correct-- I do not think they have a receptionist to make appointments. Both times I booked online and it was very easy. Also for both appointments the salon was running on time, which I really appreciated. The atmosphere there is really nice without being stuffy. I give Skin Bliss my highest recommendation!

EDIT TO ADDRESS THE REPLY FROM THE OWNER:…read more Yes, this was my second visit and as I mentioned, the service is very overpriced for what is offered. The only reason I booked a second time was because my usual place was fully booked before Halloween weekend and yours had an opening. The setup and the price were an issue, but I still gave it a chance simply because of timing. The first time was fine just overpriced and not luxury. As for the timeline you described, it isn't accurate. My appointment was on Thursday. I noticed the issue starting on Saturday, and by Tuesday the polish on my big toe was completely off. I messaged you after that. Yes, I replied two days later -- because I work -- but that doesn't change the fact that the polish failed almost immediately. The bigger issue was the week-long gap in communication. I followed up on Thursday, then a full week passed with no response, so I followed up again on Wednesday, and again on Friday. Only then did I finally hear back. That's why I didn't feel comfortable coming back in. This is silly but the big toe is not a minor detail lmao -- it's the largest nail and made up nearly half of the overall pedicure. Getting $20 back total (about $10 for the toe and $10 for the tip) from an $85 service felt dismissive given the situation, especially since the polish didn't hold up past the first few days. I'm simply sharing my honest experience so others know what to expect. I'm glad you stand behind your work, but my experience with the result, the communication, and the refund policy was not positive ORIGINAL REVIEW: This review is in regards to a gel pedicure with Jolene. Extremely disappointing experience: overpriced, unprofessional, and poorly handled. I really wanted to like this place, but my experience was terrible from start to finish. First, the pedicure setup isn't what you'd expect for the price. There's no sink or proper pedicure station. She heats up water and pours it into one of those small vibrating foot tubs you can buy on Amazon. For an $85 gel pedicure, that alone feels extremely overpriced. I had my appointment on Thursday. Over the weekend, I noticed on Saturday that something was already starting to look off on my big toe. By Tuesday, the polish had completely come off that toe. This is the big toe, basically half the pedicure lmao and the polish clearly hadn't been applied or cured properly. I reached out as soon as I noticed the issue and followed up multiple times. I didn't get a reply for more than a week. When she finally responded, the blame was put on my "positioning," which was frustrating and dismissive considering the photos clearly showed the problem. I would not have minded at all if I could've come in promptly manner (not two weeks later at this point). What made the situation even worse was the "solution" offered. She refused to refund the service and instead gave me $20 total. She clarified she could refund me for the one toe lol. Essentially $10 for the toe and $10 for the tip I had already left. Getting $10 back for the biggest toe on an $85 service was honestly insulting. She did offer to fix the toe, of course. But by this time, I did not feel comfortable. It had already been two weeks since my appointment. On top of that, the location is in Old Town, so depending on the day you sometimes have to pay for parking. Between gas, parking, and the long delay in communication, going back in was not reasonable. I've had plenty of gel pedicures, and this was by far the worst quality and worst customer service I've ever experienced. I paid premium pricing for a pedicure that didn't last even a few days and took over a week to get any meaningful response. Definitely won't return, and I would not recommend this place at all.
