I couldn't even believe when she told me we were done because I could still see many long hairs. She is not detailed at all in her work and used the same strip to take off all of your hairs... I purchased a Groupon so I could get a bikini wax. I went to my appointment and had to pay a small fee due to my appointment. The owner asked if I wanted to come back for another bikini wax down the road. One bikini was $35 and then two would come out to $60 or something dollars. I went with the one bikini wax. A few months later I contact the owner and she directs me to schedule an appointment for my bikini online. I had missed my appointment and contacted the owner and she said I basically redeem my payment if I missed my appointment. I was so excited and optimistic for my wax, but when I get home and saw the final product I was so disappointed in how many long hairs/chunks of hair that were leftover. I had a Brazilian wax done by Hillari and it was not good. Her technique is bad (she doesn't rip off the strips fast enough); when she "shaped" my small hair patch, she took off way too much and left it misshapen; she didn't apply anything to remove the wax residue; she was more interested in talking than focusing on my wax; and she stayed in the room to ring up my purchase while I got dressed. The only saving grace is that I was a first time customer and only paid $20 for the regularly $45 wax. I was disappointed enough, it would have added insult to injury if I'd paid full price. read more

I went to Pretty Pum Pum for my first Brazilian wax ever and Hilary assured me it wouldn't be very painful and id be out in no time. To my surprise the pain was horrific and unbearable for me. I simply asked her if she could slow down a little and take smaller sections. She said "no, I don't have time for that. I only schedule people in 15 minute increments and if you can't handle it you can go. I found her to be very rude, insensitive, and not taking the appropriate time I needed. Sure women who have been doing it for years no longer have that kinfolk pain. I since learned how to wax at home taking smaller sections, virtually pain-free and will NEVER visit her again. I was astonished at how unprofessional and careless she was about my feelings. Yep, never again! I'd leave zero stars if that was an option. Hillari, the unfortunate brutish owner of this establishment is not as accommodating when it comes to the schedule. As a first time customer waiting for 16-min is a bit much especially since impressions matter a lot. No complaints since patience is a virtue. My next appointment was met with an unfriendly vibe as she turned me away for a wax service due to being 9-min late, but who's counting. Hillari had already taken some else during my slight delay in traffic. Not only was I declined, but I left in a respectful manner vowing never to recommend or purchase another from this place. She wasn't very understanding towards my situation after wasting my gas and the only time available that I could break away from my hectic job; sometimes life does happen if you take the time to listen. I prepaid for a wax, I booked and had to cancel due to illness. I called Merle Norman, ahead of time to let them know and spoke with an employee, I was never told that canceling would mean forfeiting pre-paid monies. There are no rules or disclosures of this of any kind. I came in thinking I had a pre-paid only to be charged full price and told after the fact the my money had been forfeited. This is highly unfair business practice. I tipped Hilary ahead of time on the forfeited pre-paid money and tipped her again on the full price even though I was clearly disappointed by the unfair practice. She used a painful soft wax vs a hard wax. Hard wax is more expensive to the salon and more time consuming which means less money for Hilary. Lastly talc/powders was applied to me prior to wax. Talcum powder has been linked with ovarian cancer. Do your research and go to someone that genuinely cares about clients and not just dollar signs$$$$$$$ read more
