Update: It is very disturbing that so many people just want to jump on this racism bandwagon. As someone who actually witnessed this entire situation the customer that came in after ME was NOT white and the employee Anna was not white. ME was not asked to pay for her service up front, she offered to pay on the way out. And furthermore ME was done wrong by the employee Anna, not the other customers or employees. Other customers and employees told Anna that what she did was wrong. The Lead said Anna leaves one customer to help another customer all the time. Management needs to deal with Anna. Original review: I was present and witnessed the incident involving M.E. at Luxury Spa & Nails. While M.E. described the situation as racist, both customers did not appear to be white, and it appeared to be a customer service issue. What I can say is that several customers and employees spoke up in support of M.E. during the incident and even after M.E. left. From what I observed, the issue was not caused by another customer. A customer simply asked for service, and Cindy, the lead employee, said no. However, Anna left M.E. to help that customer anyway. To be fair, M.E.'s nails were soaking at the time, and Anna may have believed she had enough time to assist someone else. Even so, Cindy repeatedly told Anna not to leave her customer and indicated this was an ongoing issue with Anna. Despite that, Anna continued doing so, which is a customer service problem management should address. I also found it inappropriate that M.E. was required to pay when the service had barely begun. Once she came back in to film she was refunded. My understanding is that the owner or manager, Nathan, was not present. Management should review this incident and address the employee's conduct. For balance, my own experience was positive. Leila gave me a great pedicure and was kind and professional. Cindy was also courteous and appeared to be making a genuine effort to manage a difficult situation. My concerns are specifically about the customer service issues I witnessed that day. Racist, let a white woman get her nails repainted despite the fact that I was there in the MIDDLE OF TRYING TO GET A NEW SET &not to mention she had burnt me & drew blood on two fingers I called this morning as soon as they opened asking if they had availability for a walk in new set and they said YES. I called again trying to verify the address because I ended up in the wrong spot. After they got exposed online, they tried to call back and left a message "apologizing" Called back later in the day and the woman that answered insisted I "had it all wrong" and that I "walked off on my service". I went in as a walk in to get a simple gel polish. Not a manicure, literally just gel polish on my natural nail. The wait was about 40 minutes which is a little long but fine since I didn't have an appointment. The girl who took me tried to upsell me on a manicure and made a face when I said no. Then she grinded off my old gel color but didn't buff my nails after so I had little pieces of jagged nail sticking up on several fingers. She put the base coat and color on right over it leaving me with several sharp and bumpy nails which drives me literally crazy. Also the edges/tips of my nails were jagged and rough instead of smoothed out properly. She took maybe twenty minutes max from start to finish when my regular place takes 45 and does it right. (Went to this place on an emergency because I broke a nail and my regular place was closed). I very much felt like this lady at Luxury didn't care about my service because it was a low dollar amount and she put no real effort in. I won't be back. I went to get a pedicure after the cold had my feet feeling a bit dry, the first lady who trimmed my nails and did the gold package was great! i asked for an acrylic overlay to even out my toenails and was assured they could do that, but by another tech . after the gold package was done by one technician i was left waiting for a solid 30- 45 min. when the other technician came to do my toes, i noticed the tools she was using did not seem sanitary and looked previously used, i didn't want to be a bother since i'd already been there for 3-4 hours.. afterwards i payed 130$ plus tip and had noticed a slight discomfort once i got to my car , i chalked it up to be my rough feet, i didn't want to be a bother... i later noticed a significant amount of "bruising" after my nail growth and i thought it may have been something i did.. but hadn't stubbed my toes or did anything to warrant anything of the sort. and after soaking the acrylic off with acetone, half of my big toe nail had completely separated from the nail bed and i trimmed it off to prevent mold or any infection. i hate to make a bad review but this is so devastating for me.. as i am writing this review and attempting to attach a photo i have noticed that my right big toe nail i haven't soaked off yet may be affected by the same issue... i tried to paint the left toe nail in an attempt to make me feel better but its comparable to putting lipstick on a pig... i know i have ugly feet but i did not deserve this read more

I've been coming to this spot since January for a pedi/mani and I've tried to be very understanding because they are short staffed. I've never complained even when I wasn't 100% happy but today was different. I went in for a pedi/mani and they were slammed. My pedicure was fine but my nails.. OMG horrible. The women who polished my nails is the owner or the wife one the owner. I complained because they were bubbly and sloppy. When I complained, I was dismissed. The women was mad and her husband, Tom, came over to look at my nails. He proceeded to take of the nasty polish and then had the audacity to blame my nails because they are short. My nails have been short this entire year. After he took off the polish, he looks up and tells me that he's not going to finish them and asked if I can leave. He didn't even have the decency to clean them right. And all this because they can't manage their time. STOP overbooking. You wouldn't have to rush through customers and do bad work if you would acknowledge that you don't have the capacity to help anyone else. Obviously, I will not go back and I'm sure they do not care but I would warn anyone coming here proceed with caution. My response including the unprofessional response from the business lol. Apparently the unprofessionalism is a trend and I'm not mad at all, just happy I didn't give them my business. They also proceeded to send a text after an response to my cell to tell me how to say how I misunderstood and said I hope that leaving them a bad review made me happy. That is wild. I didn't know the weekends were appointment only and the signs on the door were confusing because it also says walk-ins. The nail tech let me check in, however made a side comment to his client about how people don't read the signs, another person walked in and asked if they did it walk-ins and the guy said no. I think it would have been more appreciated if they just told me that walk-ins were not a thing instead of saying it to their clients and not saying anything to me. I made an appointment and was here for almost 3 hours. in between of getting my acrylic set the tech stopped and assisted other people. Then she let me know she wouldn't be able to finish my set due to having a bunch of other customer's and if I could come back a couple hours later. The partner and I made appointments for our pedicures (one gel polish and one regular), we got the deluxe package (scrub, moisture, and towel). As someone who is 7+ months pregnant this was EVERYTHING. From the entry into the establishment being offered water, to sitting us right away, to the absolute worth every penny up-charge package that includes the massage! I almost fell asleep while it was happening. Now when I catch a glimpse of my toes they look like little cherries, and my pregnant feet & legs have received respite. I was a frequent customer. I have stepped back from this location. I used to go every two to three weeks for a basic gel refill. The last couple of times I've gone, their prices have changed which I understand but the quality of the nails lasting hasn't worked for me. The woman who sits in the third chair usually did my nails but I was told she no longer works there. I've returned twice and my nails and polish came off. WARNING! If you live in Albuquerque, NM NEVER go to Luxury Spa and Nails... The address is 2621 Coors Blvd NW C, Albuquerque, NM 87120 1.They cut me more than once around my cuticles. 2. When I asked for a painted French tip with regular polish she kept streaking the base with white to the point that I just asked for a neutral soft color because I had a photo shoot the next day. 3. My nail polish was done so bad you can see the 1st and 2nd layer of polish. The polish had air bubbles so when they popped it left random empty holes and she wasn't anywhere near the edges of my cuticles so it looks like my nail polish has already grown out over the course of the week. 4. Because they kept jumping from person to person my mom and I were there for 3 hours. 5. I didn't have time to have them redo it for the 3rd time because I had a singing gig I had to get ready for. 6. I realized they had my mom pay $105.00 before I was even done. I had no idea they charged my mom so much. It was $15 dollars extra for her nails to be pained with gel nail polish so $30 extra for her hands and feet....So I decided I would go back the next day to get it fixed because my mom spent so much before my photo shoot or at least be reimbursed for the manicure. 7. I went back the next day and they refused to reimburse for the manicure and if they gave anything it would be $5. 8. They said they could take me that day but I needed to wait for 5 people in front of me. 9. There's was no way I was going to wait and have a bad job done again so I left with nothing.
